UK, Ireland / "If it's not Polish, it's shite" - What is great about Polish Beer in UK? [78]

I'd much rather drink Obolon, Zlaty Bażant and Budweiser Budvar than any Polish beer.

I drank them. They are good. But not as perfect as you suggest.

Simply put, many Poles have a tendency to overrate their products but if they like it......

Yes, Teraz Polska!

So what ? Because you use rhetorics of SB defenders and agent should I ask you are one of them?::))))

Ooops, I don`t remember using SB- style rhetorics. Where exactly? Tell me as I tend to be a bit absent-minded at times. :):):):)

Nobody would be interested whats clowns even in opposition bench have to say for four years and more.

Clowns are useful. They make our day brighter.

I-S ( I'm good with those :)))))))))eh?)

Nope. Your smileys are too fat!! Double-, even triple-chinned!! :):):):)

fat man poland

You should definitely go on a crash diet! Now!!! :):):):)

No, I only said that solely focusing on one party for x years while said party is in opposition is suspicious.

Did you miss what I said before? It seems so...:(:(:(

Nice move from Prime Minister to communist agents: :):):):)

Its very simple really, Germans will prosecute former STASI agents till 2019 and their are proud of it.
In Poland nobody were prosecuted and ass-holes are proud of it - is that for a good of Poland.

Oh la la! Iron, are you one of the Saviour`s assistants/henchmen? The rhetorics you are using is very PiS-like.... :):):):):):)

In Polish there is an idiom: gonić w piętkę. It suits you well. :):):):):)

This far-reaching splendid plan from our leading prominent economist drew unanimous support from the Polish Internet Community:

I often read various comments on main news sites and never cease to admire the Polish sense of humour. :):):):)

- Now, the entire Greece wishes to have Jarosław for their prime minister! , Jaroslaw, Jaroslaw!

Exactly! :):):)

Jarosław, Grecję zbaw!!! :):):)

Iron, you accused us of making fun of PiS and its leader. Do you still hold on to your views? :):):)

PS. On a serious note: Thank you, gracious God, for hearing our desperate prayers and not allowing this man to become the Prime Minister or President of Poland.

These are human traits, we can forgive Tusk certain deficiencies, errare humanum est*. But Tusk at least is aware of the reality. The Saviour`s case is different - the guy sometimes seems to have dropped from the moon.

Which of them makes a better Prime Minister? Moon dropping or down-to-earthing? :):):)

News / The cross in Polish parliament - Does it bother you? [100]

That's what I mean! Removing other symbols but leaving ours! How ignorant and selfish one has to be to do that?

Yes, it was selfish.

I want to keep the cross but not at the cost of other beliefs. Let`s retrieve the famous Polish religious tolerance!

Why for the last four years all media are going about what the opposition leader said or not, whatever he farted or not ?

Because the opposition leader himself tried to use the media to his advantage, by creating artificial hype around his person. Did you forget the famous trip to the grocer`s which proved that the Saviour knows nothing about Poland and sort of lives in a splendid isolation of his own obsessions? How about his everyday press conferences?

And the media eagerly joined in and covered the Saviour as he was running for a President last year and Prime Minister this year.

So, it is not about farting, it is about knowing what kind of person was going to rule Poland.

Ridiculous? Yes!

Iron, show more intelligence. Do I have to explain things to you like to a little child?

Said a former homo sapient.
No sapient anymore.

Sapiens? :):):):):):):)

When exactly did you leave high school? :):):):):)

News / The cross in Polish parliament - Does it bother you? [100]

A fundamental question to all cross defenders:
What would you prefer: To have the cross completely removed or kept but accompanied by other symbols?

Now it is the best time to create a new custom: have all symbols put together. The number of Catholics in Poland diminishes every decade by 10% and it is a fact. One day there wil be too few to defend the cross and it will be ceremoniously and legally taken down in state institutions. Do you really want it?

It would be more difficult, I suppose, if other symbols accompanied it.

It is just one little concession. Come on.

If not, the discussion will go on endlessly, leading to ferment and eventual removal of the cross by lay majority in 10-20 years` time.

In Szczecin all symbols hung together for a while only because fanatics removed them, letting the cross stay.

Lets remind for readers unfamiliar with political situation in Poland that PiS from 2007 is in opposition.

I am sure our dear readers are perfectly aware of it. :):):)

the predictability of you and others such like you is unprecedented focus on PiS.

:):):):):)

Come on, we love fooling around. Is there a better object for our banter than our beloved PiS? If there is, point to it! :):):)

PO was in power for the last four years, and recently won Parliamentary election in Poland.

Yes, isn`t it just great? And incredible at the same time? That Poles proved so wise? :):):):)

I am really proud of my compatriots.

Still ruling party government and mainstream media are focused utterly and completely on opposition and not on opposition as whole but specifically on PiS. Peculiar situation eh?

Do you think they are fooling around like us? :):):):)

Isn't he the deputy chairman?

Good remark.

Do we need to elaborate? :):):):):):):):)

But it was quite predictable - Ziobro was told to shut up.

The predictability of PiS is also an important element of its unpredictability. :):):)

I don't think it's a matter of hooks/catches, just a matter of Ziobro being popular enough within PiS (unlike the PJN guys) to split the party in half if he's thrown out. Whether or not Kaczynski is wise enough to realise this is another question.

Quite probable.

Language / Rhymes for kids and catsoldier [8]

Cat, have some Polish language practice with easy poetic stuff:
Gdy otwieram oczy z rana

W kuchni już się krząta mama

Ciepłe mleko mi podaje

Słyszę, pij moje kochanie.

Piękna jest nasza ziemia,
Przejrzysty nad nią błękit
Piękna jest nasza mowa
I pieśni i piosenki

On 11 November we celebrate Independence Day:

Kto ty jesteś? Polak mały!
Jaki znak Twój? Orzeł biały!
Gdzie Ty mieszkasz? Między swemi!
W jakim kraju? W polskiej ziemi!
Czym twa ziemia? Mą Ojczyzną!
Czym zdobyta? Krwią i blizną!
Czy ją kochasz? Kocham szczerze!
A w co wierzysz/w Polskę wierzę!

A difficult one:

A może wśród gwiazd, w kosmosie,
mieszkają dziwne olbrzymy?
I jeżdżą na Wielkim Wozie,
choć nigdy ich nie widzimy?

A gdy się zmęczą już srodze
i jazdy mają za wiele
to może na Mlecznej Drodze
spijają kefir z butelek?

Yes, you explained it well.

Still funny - the media get access to what is going on in PiS but not in PO?

Actually, I know what is going on in PO because it is covered by independent media, in the same way as PiS tensions.

Gumishu, come on, I expect more honesty from you.

PS. Remember agent Tomek?

=pawian]PiS put forward a lot of famous candidates. One of them is a special undercover policeman called Agent Tom. With PiS in power, his task was to seduce influential female celebrities with his glamourous lifestyle and con them into corruption schemes.

See how he refuses to be interviewed by TVN station: Will you deny the fact that PiS is unpredictably funny? :):):):)

Ziobro was trying to promote Mularczyk to Sejm deputy marshall post. The Saviour and his men blocked Mularczyk and chose insipid brown-nosers as PiS parliament leaders instead.

Previously, whistle blowers in PiS were thrown out of the party. Will it happen this time, too?

I don`t think so. Ziobro is believed to have a few hooks/catches on the Saviour and if is sacked, he might reveal some secret info on PiS and its leader.

Yesterday, at PiS meeting, he was refused the right to speak. That is why I think that certain PiS activist`s statement on the radio today was a much more precious pearl:

Reporter: Would you admit that Mr Cymański was right when he leaked to the press that PiS is ruled autocratically by its chairman?
Activist: No, of course, not. In PiS everybody has the right to speak freely about what he/she considers important.
Rep: Was that put into practice yesterday?
Act: No, I admit it wasn`t.
Rep: Why?
Act: Because yesterday was a special occasion, while I meant everyday situations.

:):):):):):):):):)

So, what exactly happened yesterday?

No, it is just an anecdote. :):):):):):):) It happened only once, according to chronicles, in 1380. The rest is a myth. But it is so alive. Amazing.

But they can't win (sorry) with or without him.

At the uni 25 years ago I learned such a phrase - to be in a cleft stick. Is it still used and does it apply to the PiS dilemma?
