News / Polish magazine causes outrage with cover showing white woman being sexually attacked by 'migrants' [57]

Think, would be a picture of a group of white men molestation a woman of color induced the same amount of outrage or any reaction whatsoever?

I think it would, especially in a post-colonial society.

Inflammatory images ae inflammatory images. W sieci doesn't usually sell many copies and I'd bet that most people here have never heard of the magazine so the cover has doubtless earned them a few zlotych in sales.

News / How would Poland change for the better (or worse) under a PiS government? [257]

Codswallop, Po. It isn't about whether it's a 'foreign firm' or a 'Polish firm' (and who cares anyway about a company's ownership); it's that larger firms, irrespective of the owners' citizenship, are better equipped to manage their taxation more effectively.

And anyway, the number of companies operating in Poland that are registered abroad is huge; most of them entirely Polish-owned and which long been a thorn in the side of the particularly rapacious Polish tax office.

British police bashed Indian Ghandi supporters

That would be the same Ghandi who drew crowds of over a million people when he did his speaking tour of northern England.

No, because it never happened. The actual events were entirely different, as is confirmed by court verdicts. Perhaps the Australian papers didn't report those?

Exactly. A perfect example of how the ignorant see only what they want to see.

fancy horny, well-endowed African males

There you go again, confirming all stereotypes of the insecure. Plus a chance to think about that subject which your hundreds of posts on the matter here prove that it occupies so much of your thoughts.

Life / Polish culture versus rotten West [279]

t. I know Geldof isn't a shrinking violet but I don't think it was about his ego, I believe he was genuine.

I'm sure he's genuine. And yes, an example of someone who Po would consider part of popculture.

know Geldof isn't a shrinking violet but I don't think it was about his ego, I believe he was genuine. I think quite a few who performed there did it for the publicity of course, but is their motive important?

If they got publicity from it, is there really a problem.

An example of the "rotten west" (of which Poand is nowadays very firmly a part) doing something very altruistic.

Western european woman are being raped not because the somalian and sudanese refugees are good looking (otherwise it would be consensual, not rape), but rather because the western european men is a cuck. A weak. A political correct puss* uncapable of defend his family

That's rather silly, not least because you assume far too much about rape statistics without any reasoning other than your own insecurity and paranoia.

The important thing is this appalling magazine which seems to fit every definition of fascistic.

"Pro-EU" folks in Poland are mainly old ones with slave mentality from Soviet times, they will die out.

Not exactly in touch with things over here, are you...

Toxic rubbish like w sieci is easy to ignore; most people here have never read it however it's important to be very discerning about reports in the more mainstream right-wing media. They love headlines (and the idea of white-skinned women being ravished by good-looking and slim Africans appeals to the insecurities of the masses) however the reality is very different.

white woman being sexually

It's a common theme; sexual insecurity by weak men.

PIS senator G. Bierecki is corrupt: he merged SKOK credit unions into an unsupervised one under his control and then syphoned some the central SKOK's funds into companies he controls in Luxembourg.

He was dropped by PIS before the elections but recently made head of the Senate Banking and Public Finance Commission (now that he can't do damage to their election chances).

The court case about him taking the money was due to commence late last year but as soon as PiS won they changed the judge

I think we'll be seeing a lot more of this.

taking the stuffings

What?

Anyway, it's too naïve to reply to

Don't be silly. Especially as you seem to senselessly condemn the entire (vast) corpus of rock music while at the same time failing utterly to suggest what might be of more artistic merit.

And still nothing to do with Polish culture (which includes a lot of popular music) vs 'the west'.

true art

And you still fail to say what is 'true art' and what isn't.

cheap, popular entertainment for the masses that existed from the 1800s onwards.

Or cheap (and very much popular culture) printed ballads from a century before that. Po would probably want to ban Punch and Judy shows for being too populist.

News / How would Poland change for the better (or worse) under a PiS government? [257]

This part of the plan (if one can call something so utterly ridiculous a plan) is designed to let the PIS lovers whine that they couldn't carry out their plan because the nasty EU refused to give Poland money.

It's completely planned. That way they can try to gain political capital from the whole "nobody likes us" thing.

That definition doesn't make any sense at all. It just refers to mainstream cultural output since the industrial revolution.

Basically a crabby and emotionally loaded phrase that is judgemental about so much music, literature, film etc as well as ignoring the fact that the profit motive has led to so much high quality arts output.

And probably suited to a better thread, since Poland and the "rotten west" are no different whatsoever in this respect.

I just googled 'commerpop' and as expected it's only actually used by yourself, here and elsewhere.

And you still fail to explain what you are trying to mean by the ridiculous term.

News / The Guardian destroys the Kaczynski twins [42]

Many journo's release articles under a Nom De Plume

This one doesn't in this case.

Hard to guess where you got the Remi Adekoya thing from (though after all, he is a highly respected commentator on Polish matters and a former editor of the Warsaw Business Journal) however it seems (so very very normal for PIS-it's) that you don't want to admit that you are just plain wrong...

Undignified.

News / How would Poland change for the better (or worse) under a PiS government? [257]

PIS ... welcomes PZPR typesSB informers, or at least the ones who are useful to PIS.

More a superannuated (though not necessarily in the fiscal sense) rag tag assortment of former useful idiots, draft dodgers and chancers that are associated with PiS and other extreme political groups.

PO supporters and others may have supported or at least had to put up with this that and the other problem back in the old days (often whipped up by the self-same chancers that are vocally behind PIS nowadays) however that is straightforward realpolitik.

News / How would Poland change for the better (or worse) under a PiS government? [257]

Ah, so yet again the PIS lovers expect other people to do what they themselves are not willing to do.

Entirely expectable and predictable; hypocrisy is one of their main traits, that and paranoia, hysteria, bigotry, authoritarianism and an absolute disrespect for the rule of law.

yet the journalist does not understand the

More that he understands but doesn't feel the need (and why should he?) to present the article from a traditional Polish point of view; he is a neutral analyst not a polemicist and to take sides would be inappropriate.

Thirty years ago English Journolists considered Irish upstarts the thorn in the side of democracy

Hard to know what you mean here; thirty years ago English (do you mean British) journalists obviously wrote about Ireland however relations between the two countries were good. By 'upstarts', do you mean the IRA and INLA?

If so, homicidal terrorists and indiscriminate mass murderers would be a more appropriate term than 'upstarts'.

If you are eligible to vote in Poland voice your opinion at the ballot box at the next elections.

And in a democracy, we are entitled to point out the failings of any elected official or party.

Really, your comments are very strange. It's as if you feel that nobody should be able to criticise that particular party.

I wonder if in the 230 million savings Morawiecki includes himself as he made more than 20 million working at bzwbk.

This is something we see all to often.

Walking away from the table when its almost empty isnt difficult.

One issue is that although the table was empty, so many of the PiS mafia hadn't yet had their fill - at a local government level these people have modest appetites but still want to be head of the queue at the TKM buffet.

Life / Cyfrowy Polsat... NC+ - which channels can you watch in English? [25]

Only if you pay for it; the free streaming isn't in HD.

Of course if someone does pay the subscription and wants to stream in HD then they need to have a. a good internet connection and b. the stream has to work properly which is not a given on FilmOn.

History / Why is the Diary of Saint Sister Faustina Kowalska still unknown to Polonia and other countries? [29]

That one's a problem. The church dislikes the Medugorje hoax, not least due to the UFO stuff, however it can't easily stop people going there without declaring it officially false (the church's position is that it's a non constat or not proven to be supernatural) and the place is an absolute money spinner. Garabandal is much the same and the Bayside apparitions even worse.

Sister Faustyna's followers do include some people on the fringes of the church however her writings are mostly innocuous

History / Why is the Diary of Saint Sister Faustina Kowalska still unknown to Polonia and other countries? [29]

In XX/XXI century there is no other Saint who received from Jesus this type of Message of God's mercy (or any other message which would be equally important).

Plenty of religious figures claim to have received messages. All are unique.

t's a pity that Polish priests fail to mention the nun's name or her book or the teachings of Saint JP II

I wonder why you think that? It simply isn't true.

It's quite clear that masonry has managed to infiltrate even the Polish catholic church

Freemasonry has no interest in religious organisations.

? i can see one BIG conspiracy here...

What conspiracy? None of the things you've mentioned are even 1% correct.

here he lie, where he twists and when he misinform by manipulating

And not one word of your objections stands up to the cold hard facts of the article.

religious people in fumes of opiate clouds manipulated by a megalomaniac populist fueled by the vengeance and resentment

That actually paints a fairly accurate picture of the situation. Except he isn't in any sense a populist - in fact he had to appoint a puppet Premier since he himself is electorally toxic.

"This thread is beyond reproach and cannot be debated"

Check out the meaning of 'beyond reproach'. The Guardian (and possibly the Telegraph) are the two most credible and respected sources.

It was easy to guess that some here would try to attack the source of the excellent article and it hasn't worked; the source is entirely independent, there is no 'agenda' (though PIS conspiracy mavens would love there to be) and there is not one word in the article that is misleading in any way.

Let's hope more follow in a similar vein; people, particularly decision makers, really do need to be aware of how awful the current regime is and what an appalling history Jaro etc have.

you cant argue with left wing Communist Propagandists

About as far from the truth as possible; and the source is beyond reproach.

The article (more an analysis given the length) is very well-written and sums it up beautifully.

And you still can't point out even one inaccurate statement.

All you've actually done is say you disagree, which is entirely your right. You haven't been able to point out even one inaccuracy though, have you?

Just ranting about "self-proclaimed Emperor Merkel" and some very unscientific comments about migrants spreading mysterious diseases...

That doesn't make much sense at all. Is there anything in the article that you can identify as inaccurate?
