News / Poland directly threatened by ISIS. Do Islamists planning terrorist attacks in Poland? [390]

Serbians have bigger influence on Poles then you Brits.

You really believe that? A lot of people here couldn't find Serbia on a map and even if they could, wouldn't bother looking. And Serbia has nothing, repeat nothing, to to with any terrorist threat (or lack thereof) in Poland.

Plus, there is that chemistry between Poles and Serbs.... love is in the air

Probably as many as three people in Poland might agree with that and all of them insane.

Worth repeating that the Polish authorities deal with issues like terrorism either alone or together with their EU partners. Serbia is an irrelevance.

History / Is 5th partition of Poland possible? What kind? How? When? [73]

We shall retrieve with a sabre.

I doubt that.

A pity that Tusk and company handed out citizenship to foreigners without true allegiance to Poland, and Polish culture.

More of a pity that you think "true allegiance to Poland" involves signing up to your madcap irredentist scheme to invade a friendly neighbouring country!

the issue is the restoration of the victim of totalitarian regimes' crimes against humanity,

No it isn't. All that was done with years ago and neither Poland or Ukraine are claiming each others territories. They respect each others borders...

Stalin's crimes against humanity included deporting ethnic Poles from the very Polish city of Lwów.

Not much of an answer. the wrongs of the past should remain there.

Poles now forced to live in the failing Ukrainian state would no longer need to wait at the Polish consulate like a communist toilet paper queue for a visa. Silly question!

Even sillier statement. If they're Poles, let them get passports and move to Poland.

And you still haven't said how your evil personal masterplan (shared by no Polish politicians) would affect the Ukrainian citizens of the Ukrainian city Lviv.

Many Poles from Lwów were forced to relocate in Wroclaw.

And you think they all want to up sticks and move to the Ukraine.

WWII finished 70 years ago. You weren't even born then. Get over it; everyone else has.

Małopolscy Patrioci is new political organization

So another bunch of jackbooted losers. About as useful as a chocolate fireguard. And if they start any sort of vigilante stuff against extremists (precisely what they are themselves), heading right for the cells.

with great future

Thousands wouldn't, Crowie, thousands wouldn't...

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

Thousands of dead and a collapsing economy, is this your definition of 'excellent'?

Well, Polson, I presume you mean the thousands of dead as part of the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine and the collapsing economy caused by Putin invading their main industrial region...

You're talking about the USSR in the last century.

You realise we're only at the start of this one? Maybe not...

in what way is Russia threatening Poland in 2016?

Found in 1.5 seconds on google:

Russia is threatening Poland with "most serious consequences"

Putin 'privately threatened to invade Poland, Romania and the Baltic states'

I am just sad to see that Poland cannot move on with that russophobia stuff.

Would any country be anything other than very wary indeed about a has-been and would-be superpower who has just invaded and is currently at war with their neighbour and close ally?

Bizarre and sad to see Putinist apologetics here.

News / German government tells journalists how to badmouth Poland [42]

WTF?

I certainly wouldn't put anything past either Super Express (a trashy tabloid if ever there was one) or a PiS mouthpiece like TV Republika which probably thinks journalistic integrity is a type of Novena.

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

No, it's no "response". The US Department of State has been investing billions in that "revolution" for several years, long before the Maidan events

Which is excellent. You should note that the training and aid from one free country to another is entirely open and transparent; such a contrast to Russia's funding of terrorism.

I said: what has Russia done to Poland in the RECENT PAST? Try to focus, please

The example is pretty recent. Try not to squirm please.

You're obviously emotional on this matte

Entirely objective.

It's worth pointing out to anyone reading that a quick click on your profile shows that many of the posts you make is either trying to excuse Russian aggression like their illegal invasion of Poland's friendly neighbour, Ukraine or trying to defend Putin. They have very little to say about Poland at all.

Remember here in Poland, where people are very aware of the threat from Russia and almost everyone who isn't a kid has suffered from Russian imperialism nobody believes your silly apologetics.

History / Is 5th partition of Poland possible? What kind? How? When? [73]

1944? 1945? 1946?

Is the behaviour of totalitarian regimes a guide to how countries should behave now? By the same logic you could justify all sorts of nonsense just because someone did it in the past. LOL!

squatters

What 'squatters'?

Why should the Russians that Stalin moved into Lwów get a say on the border?

What Russians? Do you mean the Ukrainian citizens living in their own country? And you still haven't dared to say what, if your silly plan to chop up sovereign states ever came to fruition (which it won't) what would happen to the citizens of Lviv who prefer their city to remain in their own country?

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

I didn't say that comparing was always wrong, I just said that we shouldn't try to compare things that are not comparable.

Yet you were doing exactly that. Hypocrisy of the first order.

No need to intervene militarily when you have spent billions of dollars to train local forces.

Very good that free countries have responded that way. Brave Ukraine needs all the help it can get against the Putinist invasion.

And again, prove me that Russia actually invaded Ukraine

Easy. Ukraine is not Russia. Russian troops invaded. The Russian flag is illegally flying over Ukrainian territory.

You seem hell bent on defending the vile dictator Putin and his obscenely corrupt lackeys.

Honestly, what wrong has Russia done to Poland in the recent past?

It wasn't that long ago that their troops had to slink out of Poland with their tales between their legs. If you want more, Pweeg gives a nice list. Russia is regarded as a threat to freedom and democracy with very good reason.

Cool down, my friend

Cooler than you'll ever be, and certainly not defending the Putinist invasion of an independent country.

The thread title is an odd one. Poland isn't Europe's 'counterweight' to Russia - in fact most of Europe and the free world stand against Russian aggression.

Really, the world would be a better place if Putain just went off into the sunset with his new partner, Wendi Deng. Perhaps she'll rein him in a bit, however during her marriage to Rupert Muurdoch and her affair with a well known UK politician she didn't manage to do much good for either of them or their reputations. As the Polsh saying goes "Kurwa kurwie łba nie urwie".

History / Is 5th partition of Poland possible? What kind? How? When? [73]

Same with so-called Transdnistria and whatever the Russians pretend to call the parts of Ukraine they've illegally invaded. Not one of those places is recognised internationally, and so many countries' Foreign Office information for travellers make it very clear that they are not recognised in any way and that travellers who go there will not receive any support from their embassy/consulate since none of those unrecognised states have one.

And even if some country thousands of miles away like the US suddenly decided to recognise Transdnistria etc (which they daredn't) it would still not be recognised by the countries that matter, i.e. those in the region.

All this just shows what a daft non-starter a partition of Poland or Ukraine would be.

News / Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy. [2554]

I hear there might soon be protests in support of a law that will take from foreigners the properties that they 'acquired' for a song from the Polish state and return to them the pittances they paid for those properties.

That should apply regardless of nationality/citizenship and should also be part of a wider investigation into people who deliberately moved to Poland during the PRL years.

Such situations are one of those anomalies that PiS and their few supporters prefer not to discuss too much and although not among the underlying reasons for the Polish pro-democracy rallies certainly part and parcel of the war that PiS is waging on Pland.

they are clearly recognized by the international community.

Once again, the absolute opposite of the truth. Not one of those unrecognised states has embassies, not one issues passports that are recognised outside Russia.

Is that why they don't want to return to a beautiful Polish city?

More, LvivEagle, that people have moved on. People with homes, jobs, lives in Poland are not about to move back to what's now another country that they, their parents, or nowadays even their grandparents or great grandparents left 70 years ago. And yes, I have discussed the issue.

And you still haven't said a word about the wishes of the people who currently live in Lviv.

alternative lifestyle circles in Warsaw

You're asking the wrong person. I expect you're used to getting the wrong end of the stick.

They are quite stubborn reminders of how the world actually works

They are all perfect examples of how the world works, since none of the example you tried to make a point of are recognised by the international community and the first (and most relevant of them) has lead to international sanctions against the dictator Putin and his criminal gang.

And who the hell are you to presume to speak for them?

Who am I to speak? Someone who had spent far more time among such people than you ever will. I've never once heard anyone here say they'd like to pack up their life in Poland and move to Lviv.

And of course you still fail to say anything about the wishes of those who live in Lviv or what might happen to them if they (entirely understandably) object to your plan to invade their home.

It seems pretty clear that we have yet another paid Kremlin troll on here, doesn't it?

They're so transparent. And not especially good at what they do.

History / Is 5th partition of Poland possible? What kind? How? When? [73]

That is the Realpolitik

No it isn't at all. The illegal invasion of Ukraine is not considered legal by anyone except the Russians & their nearest and dearest. And has resulted in international sanctions.

Your arguments come across as rather flimsy, pretending that treaties you don't like aren't valid. That and pretending that the Americans would dare for even a second to interfere with the sovereignty of a large sovereign state (acknowledged as so by the whole world) which lies on the EU's borders!

Poland's former third largest city

Former meaning 80 years ago, with the population resettled three generations ago and presumably happy enough with their homes in Poland.

Plus of course the current inhabitants of Lviv might have a few things to say...

The United Nations (of which Ukraine is a full member) as well as the hundreds of countries that recognise Ukraine's sovereignty would certainly disagree with you there.

See Crimea and Donetsk, etc

Illegally occupied, and your 'comments' on the validity of various treaties is as laughable as the comments from a poster with a similar username suggesting that Poland's constitution is invalid.

A partition of either Poland or Ukraine is not going to happen.

The Polish-American lobby is far more numerous in the U.S

I doubt that would make the slightest bit of difference. Nor would some dodgy deal between the next American president, whoever it may be and the Putinists. The idea of an illegal partition of a sovereign state in Europe being accepted in Europe is nowadays a fantasy.

History / Is 5th partition of Poland possible? What kind? How? When? [73]

A President Trump may well come to an agreement with Putin about changing Ukraine's formal borders to recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea

I would suggest that the Ukrainian-American lobby might have quite a lot of loud things to say about the Americans recognising the illegal invasion of Ukraine and in any case, America recognising something is neither here nor there in Europe.

Exactly the same with any further partition of Poland. It just isn't going to happen.

As is becoming normal in Kaczyński's Poland, you can expect to be dismissed from your civil service job if you oppose the government in any way.

Do I interpret that with you don't know how to participate in a discussion forum

Nope, you just quote another fellow troll (also outside Poland) who believed that only their opinion should be heard and anything that isn't extreme right-wing should simply not appear online.

It's certainly far more normal than spending hours and hours online every day talking about it.

Precisely. The guy is obsessed. He thinks about man on man sex far more than I do.

Get real jon, you're not in **** pit London, you are in Catholic Poland

Right, you now you're pretending to think that people should change their whole lives to fit in with the beliefs of the less than 50% who attend Sunday mass.

Interesting that you are obsessed with homosexuality. Perhaps you and Po should meet up and discuss it privately.

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

Stick to the topic please

I think he's very on topic, since the behaviour of Russia, particularly sabre-rattling towards Poland and the EU and their illegal invasion of Poland's neighbour can't just be ignored when discussing this thread, nor can the phenomena of paid internet trolling by Putinists - quite a big issue right now.

A discussion about this topic that ignored the points that Pweeg mention would have an elephant in the room as big as Putin's criminal ego.

There you go again,'johnny reb', trying to stoke arguments.

That's a matter for the million or so who live here rather than yourself, who has only irrelevant and loud opinions rather than involvement or experience.

flaunting it around in public

Very hard to know what that silly expression is supposed to mean.

Go flaunting it around in public in Poland like you do here on the forum and well let's just say that you know better

I do know better. Two decades here in Poland never for a second pretending to be anything other than what I am and not one single problem. Ever.

Very eloquent, especially since Warsaw is not, nor has ever been a PiS stronghold. They only get the votes they do here due to the counting of overseas votes.

There you go again, Wulkan. Especially since ultra-conservatives did badly in the capital.

And what's this about only 'minorities' voting for parties you don't like?
