Stupid excuses on the tube.. including leaves on the line,

So you would rather take the chance of the train derailing due to mulch on the line? They have reasons for cancelling trains, trust me Network Rail would rather they didnt have to.

i hate english men

why? all the males in my family are very nice and they're English :)

And AvJ English don’t all have bad teeth, trust me I have seen worse on my travels around the world.

Okay here are my pet hates about my country

Indian call centres
The amount of takeaways we have here
Traffic
Government
Asylum seekers

The fact you have to be a partially blind one legged lesbian who is fleeing persecution to get a job with the council!

People that complain that its expensive to eat healthily (lets face it - its an excuse to eat frozen pizza)

I like pan pie said - the cost of train fares

Oh just one more - doctors receptionists - they are always rude

I am not against what you are saying but please look at the big picture.

thats exactly what Im doing, thats why I have my concerns about my country, doesnt mean I have a a "little Islander" attitude.

yes they do, it ranges depending a persons age I think the maximum is circa. £5.60 - when you consider the average house costs circa. £250,000 its not that good and not really that easy for a person to have a family, because despite what would we like in an ideal world where everyone had a profession - thats not realistic - so you see, people living under the poverty line is high in the UK, but of course that's their fault because they were destined to be lazy poor brits!.....arrrh well.......

can people please stop looking up useless stats. and get on with the jobs they are being paid to do instead of wasting time at work discussing immigration issues.

Foxy for a first time in a long time people are actually staying on topic, I would say that quite an achievement.

Maybe the advert you saw was for someone on the lesser rates????

Maybe they were looking for someone under 22, so it was quite a generous rate ;-)

Sorry to disappoint you Shelley, but I have a five year work permit issued by the Home Office as I’m a Highly Skilled Migrant possessing skills identified by the British Government as being ‘highly desirable’. The right for an opinion is given by the fact I pay high levels of taxes and NI contributions. I'm also entitled to vote in the UK.

I always find that people who big themselves up are rarely what they seem - but I'm sure your job is desirable by some :)

Im surprised you wanted to stay in such a country for so long, since the men are all drunkards that go to stag parties abroad, apparently the women are all so ugly British men have had to start taking Polish lessons...and we are lazy scroungers....

Oh and you keep banging on about retraining, which is a nice thought, but its not realistic for most since they have families to support, so its the old catch 22 - and where do you suggest these people go to retrain and who do you suggest pays for it?

Hmmm - your figures are out of date by 3 years, sugguest you find some new ones!

anyway Liza I would love to stop and chat all day but I'm far too busy in my highly desirable job :)

The fact is the British economy is far stronger since the large immigration of Polish people to the Uk and unemployment has actually went down.

thats what they keep telling us, fact of the matter is property is no longer selling and an estimated 45,000 properties will be repossed in the next 12 months....hmmm not what I call a booming economy! I've seen some write about how we have credit cards and debt in the UK, but thats how a lot of families survive each month because there isnt really an alternative because life is so expensive in this country and property prices are only obtainable for most if they do juggle their credit cards!

Actually, I'm not English.

So why the hell do you think you have a right to have such a strong opinion about the English, now I understand why you are so negative, here's an idea, why don't you go back to where you come from - Im sure it wont be too long because Im sure you dont want to over stay your visa!

Lets face it Shelley, given that English workers have developed a reputation for laziness

The British actually work longer hours than anyone else in Europe - so again you are wrong - but being a foreigner it's quite believable that you haven't got all the facts.

And if the average hourly rate in Pakistan is practically the same as the UK then why the hell are there so many of them over here same as the rest of them - figures can say what you want them to, fudging figures is a favourite of those in power, so I will take the above with a pinch of salt.

(which is £5.52.. minimum wage)

Postie, I saw an agency near to where I work in the city centre of Manchester advertising for warehouse staff for £5.00 an hour - two years ago the same job would have been circa. £7.00, whilst inflation rises along with everything else - salaries seem to have reduced.....it doesnt take a genius to work out the reasons behind this.

Im not anti polish and the few Polish people on this board will tell you this, but I am concerned about the state of my country.

Hmm, think you will find that Polish nationals working overseas are pushing up prices with the money they are investing back in Poland. Foreign investment is only a small proportion - its not that easy to purchase property in Poland for a none national.

There are some members of the British public who would like to believe that the Britain/Poland relationship is all one way traffic; however there are plenty of British people who are benefitting from the Poles

Can you give the number of English that are benefiting - I mean the every day commnogarden bloke on the street, I don't mean those high up in industry - please state your source of information and figures.

Like most things in life, there are winners and losers, but the biggest losers are those who just sit on their backsides and moan rather than getting up and doing their best to improve their lives (like the majority of the Poles).

Liza, Im not sure how old you are, but the English don't really have the same work ethic / loyalty to their employers these days because, lets face it, there is no "job for life" and its easier for employers to take on agency staff and pay £5.00 per hour easy come easy go!

Personally I think you need to clean your glasses Shelley..

My glasses are quite clean thanks and the fact my eyes are wide open helps - maybe you should actually take those blinkers off - it's quite hard not to have a broad view with them on.

I understand that you are totally pro-polish, that's fine, but you must remember that you are English too - Ive chatted to some lovely people off this forum and I'm not about to start back-stabbing but there is a reason the Polish are being singled out and that is like I have already said before but I will reiterate just in case you missed it - it's because of the sheer volume of people coming over, the fact that our schools can't cope, our hospitals, GP's etc. and that's a fact! - Im not against the free movement of people in the EU but there has be a change somewhere along the line because Im old enough to remember the Brixton riots and the not so long ago the Oldham riots...tensions cause problems within communities and its happening already and the news papers dont help....

i really believe it is inevitable frank - its just a matter of time - i dont get any satisfaction from this

I said this last year, tensions are rising in the UK amongst the masses, its not just your low life cant work wont work chav thats grumbling and having a downer on Poles its a lot wider than that....and with the possibilty (strong possibility) of a massive down turn in the property market and an estiimated 45,000 reposessions next year, things are going to get more tense! Because if history hs taught us anything in this country, its the housing market that has caused recessions.

Yawn, can we try calling out of work people in England something else!

and what about foreign investors buying Polish property/land and pushing prices up ... is it a surprise Poles will come to UK to take jobs with better wages ?

What about Polish people working in the UK and buying property in Poland are they not contributing to this?? Foreign investors are a minority!

There are many articles about UK families happy to have 8-10 kids and live off the system ..... one recent such article stated the mother was hoping her child would be diagnosed with a 'disability' so they would get more benefits !

I would say that this is not the norm, so a slight exaggeration on your part I would say, also reading takeabreak doesnt count for 'news'!

In general I believe the Poles who are over here in UK are hardworking and an asset to society :o)

Nobody is denying this, the problem that people seem to have is the vast numbers of Polish people coming to England the size of the country

England 80,823 sq miles or 209,331 sq. km - Polulation 60,772,238 estimates July 07

Poland 120,726 sq miles or 312,680 sq. km - Population 38,518,241 estimated July 07

you work it out why people are getting a little bit concerned that our tiney island is getting a tad over crowded, the Polish are only getting the brunt of it because of the sheer numbers that have arrived.
