Life / Przystanek Jezus to the rescue [47]

I agree with that but how are they supposed to learn? Let them expirience life and learn for themselves.Of course that doesn't mean letting them do all what they want to but going to Woodstock is quite harmless in my opinion. And a great expirience. My nephew worked and saved to go there last year and came back thrilled. Ofc there are some bad things happening there but it happens everywhere when such big group of ppl come together.

Telling teenagers they are not wise enough to make decission of their own (with some control of the parents ofc) and they are just creation of pop culture makes for poor adults who don't believe in themselfs and can't make their own decission. Everyone has to learn how to function in society and being a teenager is the right time. So let them see the world for what it is, expirience different things, even fail from time to time and learn.

Yes, it's easy to influence teenagers but you forget about another thing- they do have a mind of their own. And are not some sheeps that are following no matter what ( no religious reference intended). Give young ppl some credit. After all we were all teenagers and we survived somehow.

Life / Przystanek Jezus to the rescue [47]

Owsiak changed it intoi something that it was not supposed to be, inviting ... "artists" like whats her name Peszek or Peszko?, singing about how she hates Poland etc.. oooh the irony.

He was the one who created it so in my opinion he has the right to invite who he wants. And on Woodstock you may find different bands so anyone can choose without any ideological loonacy.

As to the rest-w hy so much hatred? We can all co exist and there is no need for making it a battle. Let's have both Przystanek Woodstock and Przystanek Jesus peacefully with respect for ppl choices.

Life / Przystanek Jezus to the rescue [47]

So overdosing, robbing fellow Przystanek goers, spiking girls' drinks with date-rape pills and demolishing trains is just good, clean harmless fun?!

Have you ever been there? Because many of my friends and family members were there so sorry but I prefer to believe their stories about great fun, cool ppl and so on. And how will you comment on Arka Noego being there?

I just found out that during Woodstock two years ago Arka Noego used main stage and gave a concert. I think that's weird if you consider how evil that place is :)

Life / Polish vs British vs American - Clash of cultures [390]

would scream out for forceful signs of disapproval and opposition on the part of any decent Pole.

Can't respect any kind of such thing. Funerals are not for that. Awful thing to do.

But what about the parents of the kids that go to Woodstock -- do they send their kids there belieivng it's a Sunday school picnic, not a depravation derby?

No, they just want their kids to have fun and do what they want to do if it doesn't harm anyone. Besides, many of them are over 18.

Life / Przystanek Jezus to the rescue [47]

Poor ppl having such a great fun :) Listen Polonius, I'm not a fun of Woodstock, not my kind of thing, but calling it depravation fest? Get real, I bet religious teenagers go to Woodstock as well (knew few ppl like that). So just give it a break. Przystanek Jezus won't come near the kind of public Przystanek Woodstock has and such ranting is only a free advertise

Love / Divorce case in Polish court [8]

Well, depends on the case. You don't know for sure what she stated? Or are you sure she didn't try to push something against you? it all depends how much you trust her. I would contact the court if I were you.

Life / Immigration in Poland and being surrounded by a monoculture? [134]

I don't see being white as anything important. Why should I care about the colour of mine or somebody's else skin? I don't see any race problem- I can only see society's problems with some citizens. Period. If someone comes here legaly I have no problem with it. No matter what country he comes from.

Life / Fr. John Bashobora National stadium Warszawa (Warsaw) [81]

It's their right how they spend their own money, innit? If one started criticising people for the foolish things many squander their earnings on, there'd be no time for anything else.

Of course it is but it's disgusting to see that happening. I don't ask him to live in poverty but some moderation would be greatly appreciated.

My friend lived with a girl that lied to her parents she pays 200 zl more for apartement to send it to RM. I still wonder how she explained it to herself. Not Rydzyk fault here though.

History / De-communisation in Poland? [38]

Hm, I never was the revange taking kind of person and I think the way Poland dealt with things was the best option.
Anegdote:
When Solidarity sprang to life my mother was aproached by one of the activists. Ofc she asked why she should join, what were they about, what are their plans and so on and she heard that she should join because she will get 1000 more for having a baby (she was pregnant at the moment). She answered that she won't sell herself (lack of the proper word- she used the word szmacić) for 1000. The woman that aproached her was quite suprised.

I told that story only to show that you can find opportunists everywhere.
BTW- my mother wasn't in PZPR but she never liked Solidarność enough to join because she didn't like the ppl that did.

News / Polish scientist discovers drug for leukemia [15]

True, that's why I wonder if they are going to patent it in time. If yes, it can be quite a energy/money shot into Polish pharmaceutical buisness. I just hope it won't be too expensive for patients.

News / Polish scientist discovers drug for leukemia [15]

How far along the clinical trials are they?

No, the rest of the story (brrrr) is only for subscibers.

The interesting thing is that the sugar on the surface of those nanoparticples cause the cancer cells to die "naturally" and that way the sick person has no side effects like in the case of chemo.

interesting. I will be watching how it plays out because apparently scientists in Canada have already found a cure for cancer but it is being blocked by pharma companies because they have the most to lose.

The most important thing now is to get the patent. It happened before that it was like "who's the first". I hope she will patent it and preferably produce the drug in Poland.

News / VAT, OFE, ZUS and costly dress under Tusk's government in Poland [48]

I have mixed feelings. On one hand Jon is right- she represents Republic of Poland on these ocassions and it's important. On the other hand- it probably should be regulated somehow. Representative found or something like that.
