News / Poland's election winning party: PIS proclamations [229]

When PiS says those functions of the state aimed at protecting people against ill practices to and to ensure a fair play

You honestly think PiS exist to protect people, or rather enrich their own?

To "protect" the consumer requires jobs for the boys. That means more bureaucracy at our expense.

Law / "Sufficient funds" to register in Poland [18]

No, there's no punishments available in law. Essentially, it's against the law not to register, but there are no punishments for not doing so. The only legislation available is to deport you if you're a danger to the public, but that law is the same regardless if you're registered or not.

You won't obtain a PESEL anymore upon registering. The law changed on the 1st March - now your own national ID number replaces it. You'll only get a PESEL upon getting permanent residency.

Law / "Sufficient funds" to register in Poland [18]

Unfortunately, no, but it's what they use here.

I'd give Migrant Info Point a call if you want to confirm - migrant.poznan.pl/en

As an aside, there are no benefits from applying for residency unless you want to get permanent residency in Poland one day, or if you want to apply for some sort of credit.

News / Most Poles believe current Sejm (Parliament) in Poland will be better [64]

But at the first opportunity, you all show that you, lefties, are the real racists :)

The funny thing is watching someone who clearly has suffered discrimination in Brazil openly promoting discrimination against others, Macaco ;)

The 8.6 Million people that voted for Duda and gave him the VICTORY know MUCH

Which is what, around 27% of the total electorate? Not exactly a huge endorsement...

MUCH more about Poland than you ever will, Frenchie.

You're Brazilian, live in Saudi Arabia (with the Muslims that you hate so much) and visit Poland occasionally and base all your information on dodgy right wing websites that bear little relation to reality. On the other hand, InPolska has lived in Poland for years, speaks the language and has constant daily contact with many, many people. I wonder who is likely to understand Poland more.

So why you don't respect the WILL of the Polish People and stop vomiting your ridiculous left-wing constant whining about how bad are the Poles just because they KICKED OUT Lefties that you love from the Sejm?

Poor Levi. He can't even understand that the government is currently made up of some very extreme socialists.

As i said, this is what happens when you walk just with socialists from Upper classes, totally disconnected from the reality of the average Grzegorz.

I think you haven't got a clue about Polish affairs.

IF, only IF so many people tought Duda was a puppet, he would not won, after all, and neither PiS would KICK, DESTROY, and VANISH the Socialists from the last elections.

Duda won because his campaign was slick, modern and he put a hell of a lot of effort into the campaign. It paid off - and more to the point, will you stop with the claims that the "socialists" were defeated when they clearly weren't?

He looks like the perfect good guy, but still strong (not a pussy* like Hollande).

That's why he makes late night visits to Kaczyński, is it?

I agree that you don't like a system like most French do like and want.

But... I like the French system :) Of course, no system is perfect, but I think in terms of social democracy, France is really up there. And as you say - the French system is what the French people want.

Where do you see "socialism" in France?

Everywhere! But it's not a bad thing - the French state seems to tax high and provide high, which is fair enough as it obviously works for the French.

And he could generally say the right things at the right time, unlike the wooden Komorowski who seemed perpetually bored and could not think on his feet.

Yes, as well as showing that he was above petty politics. It's often said that his relationship with the AWS government was an example of how the Presidency should be conducted. And his electoral campaigns were full of energy, too.

I'm still mystified by the whole Komorowski campaign this time round. Even a PO friend was remarking that he seemed to simply not be trying in the slightest.

On tv Duda was very.... unimpressive when talking about the Paris attacks leading me to wonder how well he can think on his feet when he hasn't had time to practice the talking points handed to him by he-who-we-must-not-name

I think it's pretty much clear to everyone that Duda is just a marionette.

Law / "Sufficient funds" to register in Poland [18]

and thefore a foreign resident shall be required to prove a much higher income. I think that it may be something like at least 3 or 4,000 for 1 person or a couple + of course full medical coverage.

Actually, this might surprise you - but it's considerably less. I was always told there that they expected you to earn the minimum wage, but the law actually states something different.

Condition of stable income

In 2015, this threshold is 514 PLN per family member or 634 PLN in the case of a single-person household.

Documents confirming stable income may be, for example, an employment contract, a contract of mandate or a rental agreement guaranteeing the foreigner regular income as a landlord, etc.

It is a very good idea as clearly those don't work well.

Hahaha. According to whom, exactly? I mean, I'm not surprised that you want a return to the PRL, but still.

The two main teaching unions are against scrapping gimnazjums, the research shows most trouble is in IV-VI of primary school, the results are getting better and better every year - in short, there's no evidence apart from hysteria and populism.

Even Solidarność in Wielkpolska are against it - epoznan.pl/komunikacja-news-62304-Wielkopolska_Solidarnosc_przeciwko_likwidacji_gimnazjow - although from what I gather, the teaching part of Solidarność has always been rather independent of the main union.

Reclaim taxes from big foreign firms, and all those firms which have been avoiding paying taxes in Poland.

It's such a pretty idea, but the reality is that the small business owner will be hit hardest.

and industry is not dying is being mismanaged to put it mildly.

It's strange. Private mines are doing very, very well. Others in public hands aren't doing well. The solution is simple - the workers should be given the company with a clean slate. Wipe the debts clean, give them the company and make it clear that there's not a single extra złoty coming from the government to help. Everyone wins.

No more socialist than in France for example

Look how screwed France is economically...

According to the Adam Smith's ideas all modern countries are socialist.

Pretty much. Some more than others.

Law / Setting up a sole trader business and becoming a resident in Poland - Procedure? [32]

Indeed. And the Polish tax office tends to fine you 100% of the unpaid tax. So you end up with a 200% bill, which is an estimated bill if you can't prove exactly how you did things - and then you've got ZUS on top who will also hand out penalties of up to 30,000zl without a court case.

Doing what the Poles do is fine and well if you're the gambling type, but I wouldn't risk it.

All socialist policies I do believe, but don't let this get in the way of your sick fairytale world.

He's just in denial that PiS are essentially trying to re-create Gierek-era economic policies.

I'm not sure why they deny it so much, given that Poles evidently enjoy the idea of being ruinously in debt to foreigners.

News / Poland's election winning party: PIS proclamations [229]

Let make it clear PiS in fact is a centrist party and always has been.

Centrist? With a hard left economic policy and centre-right to right wing social policy, centrist is not what they are.

Nonsense Delph they are doing what they are doing in the best tradition of the last 25 years and PO standards.

Ah yes. PO, that introduced the idea of parliamentary scrutiny over the secret services, PO, that introduced the idea of the rotating chairmanship to ensure no funny games, PO, that respected the convention of every party having a deputy speaker... and so on.

Poor Ironside. Even Polonius saw fit to condemn the actions of PiS.

The thing anyone is better than PO and voters have spoken.

That's why the voters made sure that PiS can't change the constitution, isn't it?

Law / Company in Poland, Import from China manufacture to an other EU country - VAT, duties. [3]

1. How can I send the product to him directly from China WITHOUT importing it first to Poland?

Easily. You get a local Spanish agent to clear the goods for you.

2. I assume I must pay duty and VAT in Spain when importing the product under my company. Do I have to pay additional VAT when re-selling the product to the buyer?

If you want to import it yourself and then send it on, then yes, you'll have to do it. Yes, you'll have to pay something additional to the Spanish tax authorities.

In all seriousness, if you only have one client in Spain, it would be best to simply let your client deal with the import formalities.

News / Poland's election winning party: PIS proclamations [229]

Gettng back to the topic, after day 1 of the new Sejm, we can see...

PiS have gone against parliamentary convention and refused to allow the PSL to nominate a vice-marshal (speaker). Polish parliamentary tradition dictates that every party with representation in the Sejm is allowed to have a deputy speaker.

The second dodgy dealing concerns the oversight of the security services. Under the PO/PSL Government, this was done by a committee made up of 9 members from all parties, with a rotating presidency to ensure that the security services answered to the Sejm and not the Government. PiS have reduced the members to 7, while also abolishing the rotating presidency.

They've also planned to bring the Constitutional Tribunal (the highest legal authority in Poland) under the control of the government, and they've also failed to complete the nomination process of previously appointed judges.

In other words, we can already see that PiS are completely breaking all the rules of democracy.

Work / Any Speed School of English in Poland? [54]

Bwahaha. On 35zł an hour maximum, with no guaranteed hours?

I mean, I know pubs in Bielsko where you can drink for 3.50zł. Doesn't mean that it's a good wage ;)

USA, Canada / American Father raising a boy in Poland - or maybe USA would be the better place? [12]

Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Quite honestly : you're screwed.

Poland has absolutely no mercy when it comes to enforcing (often unrealistic) child support payments, and your family is absolutely right to be concerned. She's not going to move to the US to be with you, particularly if she already is well established in Poland while you appear to have no real foundations there.

The single fee covers all radio and television sets in a single households. One can stop paying the fee by getting rid of one's radio-TV receivers.

At the minute, yes. But the PiS proposals entail forcing everyone to pay regardless if they have a receiver or not.

The nitpciking Platfus losers kept grumbling about Kaczyński running things from the back seat so the govt line-up was annoucned by both him and Szydło.

Which is very embarrassing, considering that the Constitution makes it clear that the most powerful office in the country is the Prime Minister. The repeated sidelining of Szydło is becoming an absolute joke. Duda's sychophantic words towards "Premier" Kaczyński says it all.

The PiS govt is a team operation. The "power" (siłowe -- what would that be in proper English?) ministries are manned by Kaczyński's tested colleagues

No good translation, as far as I know - it's a rather Communist concept to associate those ministries with power.

A team operation? We saw who took the limelight at 9.01pm. It wasn't Szydło.

We all know how PiS works. PO had a contest to determine the leader of PO in the Sejm. PiS elects Kaczyński unopposed. Says it all.

Yes, but soon Telewizja Polska will become Telewizja PIS, and the rest of the media will be scorned as Jewish-owned running dog lackies of the capitalist wreckers.

While still pretending to be absolutely anti-communist, of course.

In your Poland, people would only have access to PiS approved media.... For their own good of course.

Of course. That's why they need to pay for it through their electricity bills, as it makes sure that they're free to consume the approved media.

News / Why has the US dollar reached almost 3.99 zł in Poland? [56]

Anyone know?

Sometimes it's just pure speculation. The Złoty isn't traded heavily on international markets, so it tends to bounce around a lot.

Interesting is to look at the PLN vs CZK/HUF - over the last few years, you can really see how much stronger the PLN has been.

It's important to remind people which media they should not listen/read if the want to know the truth.

Yes, the problem with that media is that it actually is independent of political parties. What a disgrace - we all know in the Brave New Poland, the media exists solely for the government.

Poor Levi. All he can do is dream of having a job in Poland instead of having to live in Saudi Arabia working for the Muslims that he despises so much.
