News / Russia says: WE'LL NUKE POLAND [150]

The question is how to respond. I favour the international community taking a very strong line against Russia; their ambitions need reining in. Poland shooting down a Russian plane would escalate things in the wrong way.

News / Warsaw mayor defiles Ghetto observance with anti-Semitic charges [19]

Given the amount of complaining you do about her, remind us whether you voted for one of her opponents or not.

Given that it was started by a non-voter, there's a lot of sniping in this thread about the very successful and twice elected Mayor...

People have been giving lower-case jon the business,

If you think that posting racist rubbish, whining pointlessly and floundering in your lies is 'business', then that does explain a lot about your situation...

Those who are not blinded by a love of PIS know that the ghetto uprising ceremony is exactly the right place to mention Poland's current struggle against the dark forces of anti-semitism.

Exactly. And nobody pays much attention to that...

Gronkiewicz-Waltz

That would be the same Gronkiewicz-Waltz who was successfully re-elected...

Well, you're obviously entitled to your views, however extreme. Nevertheless, the Mayor cannot be expected to tailor her speech to fit the prejudices of someone who thinks

Jews... they are clever and crafty bastards

his spies, plants, contacts and subservient NGO

So in fact no, no connection at all. Basically you were making stuff up as usual when you claimed a link between the fund manager and respected philanthropist and the newspaper who wouldn't give you a job when you begged for one all those years ago.

he leftist, PC, globalist, multi-culti and pro-perversity line is promtoed,

Not doing yourself any favours, are you?

for the dogs to appear.

As if by magic, Mo?

Seriously, the OP has asked an important question and it's better if you and Porky Pok/MooseLimb/Pigsy keep your naughtiness in Random Chat, rather than the main forum.

And how are the ratings for tvp?

Exactly. And though Po and other authoritarian ultra-nationalists may dislike the idea of a highly respected newspaper that doesn't share their views, the media independence they despise is not about to go away.

You're fine. Basically if someone stops you and says "Do you have anything to declare" then yes, it would be normal to declare it. Otherwise no, just walk through as normal.

This is not true. The Polish language skill of jon357 are pretty poor, so he has misinformed you on the subject

Don't be daft, Mo, stop trying to play with words and above all stop misinforming the OP on the way things work when entering Poland from within the EU. Some of us do this all the time. Literally, many times and often with large cash sums.

BTW, my Polish language skills are fine, not that the official IATA website is in Polish anyway. Try not to be mischievous for an hour or so, if you're capable of that, Mo.

The link to IATA explains it all

but you need not to show it to them unless you are asked to.

Precisely as I said at first

kosheresque

R U 1 2?

Do explain...

As I say, there are sadly some who would prefer a return to PRL-style government control of the media...

Fortunately, that isn't going to happen.

So..... Duda's not slippin' it to KaczyƄska after all?

The Duda/Kaczynska thing is nothing new and is hot news due to the wife leaving. Perhaps Po thinks the country's main newspaper should have remained silent on the topic everyone was talking about. Basically take the North Korea approach.

But only a goy would do something that

Obsessed with Jewish people....

Kind of a shame, it was the first interesting thing I'd ever heard about him...

Yes, and in every other country the rumours would be front page news (remember John Major and "Clare's Kitchen"?) so no reason to ignore the elephant in the room here.

PiS really would prefer a return to PRL censorship and media manipulation - they are quite transparent and shameless about this.

Life / Information about sending items from a foreign country to Poland [10]

I talked about outgoing shipments,

Outgoing is OK - it's usually very quick. Basically the pickings aren't as rich.

I don't know maybe I am just lucky or the theft is more common for a different shipments pattern.

It's very possible that your surname is Polish rather than foreign. I tend to have things sent using a Polish surname to avoid problems.

lthough everything may happened, in my opinion it's not frequent.

Have a look at some of the threads here, Looker, and talk to people from abroad who live in Poland. Sadly theft of incoming mail is so commonplace that some countries' postal services now have contracts with couriers rather than risk Poczta Polska.

I've been lucky - I've only had bank cards stolen which are easy to cancel. Others have some real horror stories.

This might be useful:

no restrictions if arriving from or traveling to another EU Member State . If arriving directly from or traveling to a country outside the EU: amounts exceeding EUR 10,000.- or more or the equivalent in another currency (incl. banker's draft and cheques of any kind) must be declared.

iatatravelcentre.com/PL-Poland-customs-currency-airport-tax-regulations-details.htm

This site is the Polish equivalent of the foreign office and gives a hotline number for queries. Personally I would just bring it through, never having been stopped despite having entered Poland over 100 times.

It's one of those EU anomalies.

Basically if customs officers approach you (I fly in and out roughly fortnightly and nobody has ever approached me) and ask, you declare it, however they don't ask you as a matter of routine.

To be safe, I'd carry something - perhaps a screenshot of your online bank account showing the withdrawal - to be on the safe side, however that's being belt and braces careful.

t appears that there are no resitrctions when travelling within the EU:

That is correct - within the EU there is free movement of capital. Poland does have cash controls, however this is not enforced within the EU and the general rule is that you have to declare only if asked to do so by a customs officer. You don't have to seek them out and inform them.

when entering Poland from EU

Poland is in the EU - there is no requirement to declare cash - in fact there is nobody at the land borders to actually declare it to.

But not of the Soros mob.

What are 'the Soros mob'?

As far as I know, the excellent Mr Soros is a fund manager, not a media tycoon.

The list of his lies is so long that you'd better take it for him and lighten his load.

From you that is rich...

That's actually rather lame, Wulky.

It's still the top selling quality newspaper, still the only one with an international reputation, and yes, still an independent media source. One with a highly respected editor too, a man interned by the communists during the Solidariy years.

German capital

Floated on the Warsaw stock exchange.

And all this however much you dislike the fact that it doesn't reflect your extremist (and as a long-term economic migrant to the UK) very out of touch views. And in Po's case because they wouldn't give him any work for the obvious reasons...
