I have liked the idea, and not because I am some kind of an extremist.
no, we don`t need extremism. But, let me remind you... since i come to this forum i insist that Slavic civilization can`t be comprehend as exclusively ethnic civilization where all people share their common genetic origin. Slavs are more then that. We are civilization based also on common and similar (with all our unique characteristics) cultural and linguistic heritage. We are civilization in the full sense of the word, not just some kind `vulgarized` brotherhood.
It means that all people who share values of Slavic cultural and linguistic heritage and wish to contribute to it should be considered as equal to ethnic Slavs.
Simplistically speaking i see future Slavic Union as Confederation of free and democratic states, with some major Slavic language as confederal official (for sure it would be Polish, simple because we Serbs likes the idea). Same way as English language exist as official in USA, Canada, Australia.... in fundamentally multicultural states, i can imagine Polish as official in future Slavic Confederation. But essentially, all member states should have full right to preserve their unique characteristics. For example, i can imagine Hungary and Greece as members of Slavic Confederation.... they have historical reasons for that, they have some Slavic cultural characteristics incorporated in the own heritage, they may profit from business with Slavs... and, if they are willing to accept Polish language as official, i welcome their membership in Slavic confederation.
ut the ideology behind the alliances you and I preach are different in our international relations as well as internal liberty.
what is your stance then?
I wish for a progressive and exemplary Slavic union which recognizes the impluse of the people to be more open and more accepting. We like people, we love other cultures too.
