Life / Typical for the Poloniandists [171]

delphiandomine,I mean it's your prerogative if you want to base this belief based on what you read here, but if you think this is representative of the whole of American Polonia,I have to say this is the wrong approach.

delphiandomine, actually I'm not,but you're generalizing way too much when it comes to American Polonia. You have the right to your opinion,I'm just curios as to what it is actually based on.

delphiandomine, what is that based on that North American Polonia are nothing but peasant emigrants?

Life / Typical for the Poloniandists [171]

Harry,If people were to base their opinion on how they perceive the few, then I would say that they are closed minded and don't represent the opinions of the whole of their people either.wouldn't you agree?

Harry,I don't think most of the American Polonia on this site intentionally try to hurt Poland's image regardless of how they believe. And even if this were the case,People shouldn't assume that all American Polonia is like this.

f stop, neither do I,delphiandomine,I understand that you may have run across some Amreican Polonia that have fit your description, but to assume that most or many are like that, what do you base this on?I think that if you spend some time in the U.S. and meet many, you would find that it is quite the opposite. As for many or most coming from poor or uncivilized areas, what do you base this on?

Feedback / Look alike screen names - is it allowed in PF? [15]

I would imagine it would be confusing especially if the username was so close to the other. For instance MOoli or putting an i after an a and that was the only change in a long name. Can you see where that would cause confusion?I don't think it would be acceptable for someone to use a different username to basically play games or try to incite, but see what admin says on that.

Life / Poland and every aspect..... Please help me learn and understand the realities? [108]

Ziemowit,I want to learn the history of Poland and this entails every period. For now I'm focused on the early History and being that the Piast dynasty was instrumental in shaping Poland......Thank you for the suggestions.

boletus, what would you recommend for the next chapter in Polish history?

Is there anyone who can make some suggestions or provide some information on the next phase of Polish History after the early Piast era?

Food / The great British teabag hunt thread [66]

InWroclaw, actually in New England, white is the way we drink it here as well.I like a lot of sugar and a fair amount of cream. My favorite brand is Salada.I don't know if you've ever tried it or not,but imo it is better than Lipton.I wonder if it's sold in Poland?

FlaglessPole, when people stop responding to my posts because they can't understand the way I write, then perhaps, but until then I will continue to write the way I do or does writing this way hide veiled insults? When I'm writing a novel or an essay and not writing

chat, then I'll worry about that, but thanks for the concern and good luck.

History / Surveillance in Poland during communism [29]

rybnik,Oh I hear you,I don't think that it was something to worry about, just par for the course and out of your control anyway. As long as you did what you were there for I don't think anyone was ever at any kind of risk,I think that would have been paranoid thinking.

History / Surveillance in Poland during communism [29]

rybnik,I think that it may not have been direct, but I'm sure they had their informants and kept tabs, even if to a small degree.
