News / Poland to end state funding for IVF treatment [102]

wtf are you jabbering on about?
Speak properly will ya.

Nothing progressive comes from being conservative.BAc
If 'men' like you ruled the world, we'd have never had forward thinkers like Galileo, Copernicus, Newton. We'd have never had Kant or Hegel or Heidegger. Or artists like Picasso or di Vinci or Bacon to name a few.

We'd still be throwing out sh!t out our windows and wonder why our kids died of typhoid.

Let's live your way, sure why not. Let's never learn nothing new, let's follow the teachings of unproven books and let us take as gospel the word of the powerful.

Pfft, you're on the losing side of history Polly and you'll come to realise it eventually. I hope by then it's too late though.

To anyone joining this discussion, please keep to the subject of the thread title.

News / Poland to end state funding for IVF treatment [102]

It's rather funny because it shows that they've cancelled it out of spite and not for any real ideological reasons.

Indeed

If there is no other option, some couples may indeed choose adoption, but shouldn't they have the right to have a child that is theirs genetically?

That's important. I grew up with adopted kids back in Ireland, they were from an Eastern European country and they all ended up involved in crime. If you don't know the genes of the parents then I'd be very, very reluctant to adopt. I know that sounds harsh and it's not the child's fault they genes they inherit. Surrogacy would be a better option as far as I'm concerned if IVF fails.

A friend of mine paid the basic 20,000

Ouch, but I'd be scouting around, surely some of those more eastern countries have it cheaper?

Y'know it's like gay civil right & drug prohibition, eventually they'll be legalised every where and our children/grandchildren will laugh at us for being so backward.

A sperm is not an embryo!

Really? You don't say.
Why though the hatred for state-paid IVF?

It won't stop IVF, just get a bank load of pay out of your own pocket. All this does is stop the working class from breeding. And I though PiS were a party for the poor.

Ha!

the Prime Offenders though they were pulling a fast one by extending their state-funded testube-baby programme to 2019

Can still do it privately though so everyone's a winner..........especially doctors.

I don't understand the hatred towards IVF, it can't be such nonsense like every sperm is sacred coz then you'd never wank. And we know that's not true.

Feedback / A special "for those living in Poland..." section. [33]

I suggest that given the high amount of racism and insults found in posts by those not living in Poland, there should be a special section of PF that is only accessible to those with an IP address physically located in Poland

Naw, I wouldn't really be on for this.
I use VPNs all the time and it'd just be an annoyance to turn it on and off and on again just to come here.

I think if Mods and Admin got their fingers outta their asses and stopped the racism, xenophobia, sexism then the forum would be a better place.

But we all know that ain't gonna happen, coz they can conveniently hide behind America's Freedom of Speech nonsense.

Law / Drinking in a parked car. What the Poland's law says? [24]

I think the law is that people in the front can't drink as it'll distract the driver, but if you're in the back you're grand.

I know the car wouldn't be running, but I reckon it's the best option.

Love / What should I do against racist family from Poland? (I am Turkish) [23]

Should I go to her parents and try to talk?

Yea dude, do that. And get it on video so we can all see what happens.

My honest advice: get over it, move on, get another woman. And don't meet women over the Internet, go to a feckin bar and try conversing with an actual human.

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

This is a post from a blogger I follow on Facebook:

Over the last month in Poland:
- An attack on two Arab restaurants in Gdansk by youths armed with an airgun
- British Sikh tourist in Krakow spat on and punched by a nightclub bouncer calling him a 'terrorist'
- Syrian Christian in Poznan hospitalised after severe beating by three men calling him a 'f*****g Muslim'
- Indian Hindu attacked in Wrzesnia by a man calling him a 'Syrian'
- Egyptian man beaten up in Wroclaw by group of four men
- Polish wife of Indian Sikh man in Wroclaw complains of him suffering repeated verbal attacks, being spat on and accused of being a Muslim terrorist

facebook/notesfrompoland

The only good thing about this is that these attacks are being reported and both the media and people are taking notice. At least it is not being swept under the carpet.

It is terrible though and I hope that none of my foreign friends here come victim of similar cowardly attacks.

Love / Looking for a Wedding-ceremony hall in Wroclaw? [2]

Is it really hard to find a place?

NOt really, time is the key. You'd usually need to book a place maybe 2 years before, especially if you're planning a summer wedding.

Do we need to solve firstly this problem and later plan everything?

Getting married in Poland can be a pain in the ass. If you go down the religous route then you'll have to really jump through hoops for it. Lots of paper work from your country, translated of course, it will need to be signed by a priest here and the local government. Then a marriage course etc.

Id' get working on all that first, I think it took me around 6 months to organise all of that.

And that's if you're Catholic, if you're a different religion to your fiancée then it's even more paperwork and hoop jumping.

If I was doing it again, I'd do it the civil way tbh, far easier.

You'll need a budget of say 120-200zl per guest. And you'll need to pay for their sleeping arrangements......that's the Polish way, guest will pay to stay extra nights, but not the night of the wedding. You'll need a bottle of vodka per guest and plenty of other drinks too and beer for your side of the wedding.

Looks, it's a wedding, it's going to do your head in. There's no such thing as an easily-organised wedding so best of luck.

News / PiS to force every hard working, low earning Polish family to pay for TV [96]

crappy left-wing communist channel called BBC

It has been empirically proven by scholars that the BBC is a conservative mouthpiece:
newstatesman.com/broadcast/2013/08/hard-evidence-how-biased-bbc

So the evidence from the research is clear. The BBC tends to reproduce a Conservative, Eurosceptic, pro-business version of the world, not a left-wing, anti-business agenda.

To even attempt to say that the BBC is left-wing is idiotic to the highest degree.

News / The Best Right Wing newspapers of Poland [8]

All media is biased, there is no such thing as objective media. Never has been, never will be.
Every single newspaper in the world is run with an agenda. Most people just buy the one rag that fits their world view and that's why tabloids are successful.

I suppose though that to answe your question properly then Rzeczpospolita is the best of the conservative press, while GW is the best of the liberal press.

Both contain the best research articles and the better language.
Both are though, aimed at their specific target markets. And if you want a true reflection of Poland, I recommend reading both every day.

Life / Polish culture versus rotten West [279]

In capitalist system customer service personnel will smile to you from ear to ear so that you come back to the same shop again and again

not in Poland

the advertisement for shampoo will claim to have the best product

Yea, I prefer to buy shampoo that say "Hey, idiot, buy our mediocre shampoo....it's not great, but it's OK. And you can afford it!"

promoters learn to manipulate the audience into buying the product, manipulation upon manipulation

Well done kid, you're just learnt what marketing is. Now go watch some of the TV show called Mad Men, where you'll learn more about it.

The doctor will allow..

Sure, yea. I believe you.

Catholic Church as it is the last stronghold against the western wave of complete social and cultural demise

Yea, sure, yea, OK.

Life / HIV/AIDS growing in Poland - more fear of pregnancy than STDs [82]

You need to pass a drug test to find a job

No you don't.
I've worked since I finished school, never once been asked to do a drug test.
Maybe it's coz I never worked crap jobs like stacking shelves or serving burgers to drunks.

Life / Tattoo Artist Recommendations in Poland? [12]

I'm thinking of having a temporary one done for a party

You can buy henna kits, basically they last 10-14 days usually. I suppose you'd need to buy the kit and get a tattoo artist to do it though....or someone that's good at drawing would probably do.

Need to be careful though, some of the materials used in the kits can cause a reaction so check with the ingredients.

No pics man, no way. Don't trust the nutters on this forum.

Life / Tattoo Artist Recommendations in Poland? [12]

but no reviews

I've often though there's a definite gap in the market for a tripadvisor-type website for tattoo parlours.

Anyway, best of luck. In my experience of getting tattoos here...run a feckin mile if you see any swastikas and y'know, the higher the hourly charge the better the quality usually...expect to pay from 100-150 per hour, anything less an I'd be wary.

UK, Ireland / POLISH CITIZENS FOUND DEAD IN UK... [36]

Mods, please amend the title, this crime was committed last May and there is not a shed of evidence that says it is connected to Islam.

It should also be pointed out that the deceased had previously spend time in prison for knife crime:

I don't know any personally up there, but I know 2 great ones in Katowice....I know that's not much help though.

News / Turkish invasion on Polish TV - Poland's opinion on Turkey [30]

Poles simply found it interesting. I myself have watched quite a few episodes for this very reason (and because I got a bit addicted to all those harem intrigues at first lol).

MAkes a nice change from the typical American sh!te on tele here, I'll check it out.

Why dont they do a series about how they (the Turkish) genocided 85% of the Christians that were living in turkey during the years 1913 to 1915?

Oh Jesus, maybe you ought to tell the Germans that when they make a TV show it should start with a huge "Sorry for WWII" and maybe before every BBC show it should say "Hey Ireland, we're sorry out army killed so many of your civilians over the years"

Australian TV shows could maybe apologise to the Aboriginals to?

In that ilk, maybe Polish TV shows should say "Ukraine, we're real sorry about the people we killed after WWII, but y'know there was a land grab underway and you killed lots of us too and all is fair in love and war" and as a gesture of goodwill the Ukrainians could do the same?

Classifieds / Looking for a BRITISH dog sitter in Warsaw [24]

only understands british accent

Like the liverpool accent or the West Glasgow accent?
I can do both.
I can also do a Cornish accent, Birmingham accent too. Manc accent is easy too, with the Birmingham accent the trick is to pretend your IQ is half of what it is and breath with your mouth open.

The Lawndawn accent is difficult though, people from London speak pretty bad English, always saying 'we was' instead of 'we were' etc.

I will change you 400zl per hour and I will not clean up your mutt's poo either.
