Study / Tuition Hours in Polish Universities [20]

some British tabloid.

There you go again. It was actually very well publicised.

I don't care

I do. Plenty of people close to me could easily have become victims of this 'Polish Doctor'. Anyway, he isn't allowed to practice in the UK now, so the danger has been removed. Just a shame that he was awarded a medical qualification after so many years of study. he must have been particularly clueless, not something you want in a doctor.

(noone in Poland treats studia zaoczne seriously anyway)

So why do thousands pay for courses that "noone (sic) takes seriously"?

But this thread is not about that

It is very much about the qulity of Polish Universities (medical training is always a good benchmark) compared to British ones, which as you were told, come generally lower in the rankings.

Get over your British self already *sigh*

Looks like you have a bit of a chip on your bulky shoulder.

And what's with the quotation marks? Polish universities aren't even worthy to be called "universities" according to you?

Some of them are certainly not worthy of that name.

News / Good-change government raising minimum wage in Poland, cutting SB pensions [213]

how many of the things promised for the first hundred days have been brought in as promised by the 18% regime?

Zero. They've messed up spectacularly in a remarkably short time. On so many levels.

Taking people's old-age pensions is just an example of the small-minded poujadiste vindictiveness we have all come to expect.

Oh, and they want to give machine guns to far-right militias. Just sayin'

The level can't really be so terrible if Polish doctors are being hired in British hospitals

Medical training is, in theory anyway, a universal standard, however there have been a number of Polish doctors and dentists struck off recently, including one doctor described in the media as 'the worst doctor in Britain'. he's now apparently working as a care assistant (unqualified nurse's helper), fortunately not in the UK. Apparently he was caught (fortunately right away) because he'd memorised phrases from the previous night's Holby City and when given a routine first aid test for hospital porters, failed it.

He passed his medical training at Poznan Medical Academy and had been practising as a doctor in Poland.

Unfortunately, Polish University courses, especially zaoczne are very below par, with remarkably little time devoted to taught study and a low standard of thesis required for a pass.

A quick look at the various quality ranking tables (cited often and usefully on this forum and generally considered reliable) which include Polish 'universities' is pretty damning, especially for some of the newer private ones.

for a start, you dont reallly know what level was expected.

Well, I am an examiner after all.

Nor do you know the content of first year courses at Russell Group universitites.

And attended two of them.

Unfortunately, the amount and level of tuition in Polish Universities is poor. People can get so-called 'magister' degrees with remarkbly little work or insight into what they're studying.

First of all are there reliable sources to confirm your claim?

Many, however I doubt you would read them.

r 54 000

A very nice turn out and many times the number PiS got when they bussed people in for that rally that unfortunately for them coincided with the Xmas shopping season.

Have a look at the pictures of the two rallies, the one with the normal women and the one with the anti-abortionist loons - a huge difference.

What 'truth'? That women should adhere to the standards you want them to because they're somehow infantile and can't make up their own minds about their bodies?

pure evil

No Po, your comments about Jewish people, women, handicapped children etc are pure evil.

That and pretending to be a Christian when your language on here makes it clear that the opposite is far more likely.

To come back to the topic, cutting people's old age pensions, especially when they are potentially in their dotage is close to the nadir of wickedness too. Basically yet another example of the small-minded vindictiveness that we've come to expect from the contemptible Kaczynski and the insane Macierewicz.

Study / Tuition Hours in Polish Universities [20]

9.00 to 4.00

That's pretty well what I had for my degree (and of course there was an essay a week that had to be good plus other commitments) for my teacher training afterwards the schedule sounds like yours.

In Poland, the large number of part-time students muddy the water and there are obvious issues about standards; a friend who has just finished his Masters (at a well-known Catholic university) was studying at a level similar to the first year of a BA at a Russell Group university.

Atch, Probably 65 if not earlier; certainly plenty are still alive.

alien ethnciity

That one phrase says so much about you - as I've said before and will say again posts like that suggest someone with no redeeming features whatsoever, an individual who claims to be a devout Christian but whose posts here are riddled with pure evil.

Interesting to see you advocating Socialism, even if it is unfortunately National Socialism.

evils

Evil is evil however you look at it, and Franco's torturers (working well into the 70s) that you attempted to justify are evil.

And you still want to hurt Poles by taking their pensions.

It seems you condemn totalitarianism only when it's from a political tendency that you dislike, but would be more than happy to see it in other forms.

Real Estate / Best Mortgage Lender in Poland? [25]

good mortgage brokers in Poland?

Oppenheim Kredyt always used to be good at sorting mortgages for foreigners - maybe they still are. A friend who used them twice had previously been refused by banks, including the bank theh eventually sorted him a mortgage with.

Interesting that nobody's pointed out that the long anti-abortionists on that March were massively outnumbered by those Polish women who marched in favour of easy availability of terminations.

UK, Ireland / How might Britain`s withdrawal from EU affect Poles there and here? [474]

23rd is a euro16 free zone!

Bad news. Let's hope the sun is shining and the pubs are open. And the TV shows reruns of old favourites to keep the over 70s enthralled.

I'm thousands down already on my share portfolio - with the Scots referendum it did bounce back with a huge one-day surge but took a bit of time to make up all the losses.

Some interesting reactions today from the Polish government saying they're prepared (they aren't) and from Germany where they're actually quite worried about the disastrous effect it would have.

but usually right before the vote you get a consolidation for the status quo

This is true. It also depends on which demographic will turn out to vote on the day. We'll be down a few thousand youngish, educated and affluent people due to Glastonbury, let's hope there'll be a big Euro 2016 match that day to keep the UKippers busy.

I'm asking it again - what doctors have to do with pregnancy if mother and child are healthy?

Doctors have everything to do with medical matters and no 'child' is involved. Just a few cells in a woman's body. It is her decision to continue with a pregnancy or not.

However the parents decided that's what they wanted to do.

And this is everything.

According to NHS up to 30% pregnancies are miscarried in the first tree month.

Don't tell the anti-abortionists, they may well blame the woman for that.

The Stalinist (so-called "republican") torturers pf 1930s Spain should be brought to justice for their crimes against humanity

So basically you're saying that torturers are ok as long as they're fascist - which it is also fair to describe you as on the basis of political views expressed here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you really do come across here as having no redeeming features whatsoever.

I look forward to a future government in Poland, perhaps even one more right-wing and rabid than PiS cutting your pension and perhaps instituting criminal procedings for reasons we both know about buyt which for obvious reasons can't be discussed on here. For now.

See how repellent these so-called Christian Conservatives really are. No wonder nobody likes PiS.

I thought we had an understanding not to debate this subject.

WTF? It's a discussion forum!

all those people

A cluster of cells is not 'people'.

that child its

Nor a 'child' either.

What doctors have to do with it? Pregnancy is not illness.

Hard to believe you actually asked that question.

Science claim otherwise.

Religion perhaps. The overwhelming majority of doctors have no issues with that medical procedure.

Thought this might be of interest to anyone who hasn't seen it, as investors go from denial to fear.

In Poland too - capital is moving to gold and to German bonds. Not Polish (investors don't trust the current government here) bonds which are soaring :-(

This is about people who are in their 80',

Indeed, and you want to impoverish them. Shame on you. It's always the wives who suffer...

Their country is Poland - the land they were serving.

And all of them are innocent, convicted of nothing.

Exactly! However despite their joke of a name, neither law nor justice matter one little bit to PiS - they prefer Kaczynski's Kangaroo Courts and Ziobro with his briefcase of material.

And do you favour stripping the pensions of General Franco's torturers?

"ask true Labour men, Arthur Scargill"
Would that be the same Arthur Scargill who left the party 20 years ago in a huff?

And who has long been a vociferous critic of Poland, especially the solidarity movement...

Corbyn is in the Unions pocket

And the NUM-sponsored Dennis Skinner isn't?

Try harder...
