Hey, nice to hear you're enjoying it ;) Do you already speak some Polish? Working in Warsaw?
£azienki Park should be quite cute when spring finally comes ;) Last time I went there (and only time actually), I had a walk on an early morning of July, and met a nice squirrel (wow).
Anyway, when you have time, you should also visit Cracow, in the south, and Gdańsk, on the seaside, worth it, I like these places.
There should be organised help from governments of those countries who sufferd almost nothing like France or UK .
Every countries suffered major losses during WW2. Every nations had a whole country to rebuild. Of course, Poland suffered a lot, cities like Warsaw almost completely disappeared from the map. That doesn't mean other countries were all fine.
What do you really expect today from Germany/Europe?
Yeah, like the 'Gleiwitz' radio station murder. Man, you either play naive or try to make up stuff, but dig up a bit and you'll find out some interesting news about this stuff.
Not really criticizing here, just saying ;) And the Christmas tree is a pagan thing anyway ^^ But cemeteries on All Saint's Day in Poland look really breathtaking, that's true.
Hehe, dunno about Lower Śląsk, but here in Upper Śląsk, we're waiting for spring too, cold and snowy now ;) Not that I dislike winter, but I must say spring is being wanted now ;)
Reminds me of an anecdote my dad told me. He's French. My mum is Polish. The first time he had lunch at my mum's family, in Poland, he could not understand why when people were asked if they wanted more kluski, and answered 'no', they would get more kluski... They had just said 'no'!! ;)
Classical, rap, pop, rock, or even...-let's dare say it- disco polo, etc. Let's share the MUSIC of POLAND.
(Mods, I checked before posting this but couldn't find anything related to Polish music in general. If I missed something, I'm sorry) ((Mods again, is it fine to post YouTube vids on PF, or will it get too heavy?))
And who could have said that someday I would listen to (and enjoy) some Polish rock performed by a Black Polish dude, huh? Damian Ukeje (or just UKEJE), won the musical show 'The Voice of Poland'. He's from Szczecin, and was born to a Polish mum and a Nigerian dad. He really has an interesting and powerful voice (to me). Here's his very first single, released a few weeks ago.
And last but not least, one of my all-time fav Polish bands, RIVERSIDE, from Warsaw. (Progressive rock). Most of their songs are in English. Many of their songs are quite 'atmospheric', which I really like. Reminds of Pink Floyd. If you like it, you may also enjoy the solo projects of the band's leader (and singer), Mariusz Duda. Like Lunatic Soul. Here's one of my fav songs.
I'd say the minimum should be about 2,500zł, which is okay but not great, especially in big cities like Gdańsk and Cracow. At least they are nice places to be ;)
But maybe he should directly ask the company offering him the job. I am just guessing. I could be wrong, of course.
Hmm, as you can tell, I don't master the Polish language yet, so I'm not sure about that difference. For the year 1953, I'd say: w tysiąc dziewięćset pięćdziesiątym trzecim roku. Not sure this is what you asked for tho.
I'm finding the number system very complicated indeed.
Me too, Polish mum, French dad, raised in France, been living in Poland for about 4 months now. Here mainly to learn the language, which is freaking hard if you'll ask me ;P
