Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

There are possibly more "handsome" women than men on this planet. But you guys wouldn't have it any other way ;).
There's very little you can do with the male form except to fill it out a bit and tan the outside.
I guess the best bet in Poland is to try to have daughters if you want handsome children.

But yeah, there are recognised elements that make up good looks in women and men. I think physique is an important part, as well as facial structure, eyes and hair. Nice smile, ethnic origin???

If Polish women are with bruts well maybe that's because there are just too many soft faced, conservative Polish men who'd rather be reading Mackiewicz than experience any of the godly delights of a woman's body... I call them mumma's boys.

For me there are 3 main catagories of Polish male, and these include:

the educated man versus the uneducated man
the spiritual man versus the non spiritual man
the tolerant man versus the non tolerant man

I find it better if they possess more of some and less of others...

Life / Expats in Poland - would you fight for your new country? [105]

Poland ever found itself in a conflict

This is a tricky one however because Australia is (usually) involved in some form of combat or "peace keeping" mission abroad, but rarely on our own soil has there been call to take arms to protect my country's independence. So I haven't felt the urge...

I find that frequently, these wars to protect *democracy* are being fought further and further afield with no tangible benefits to my freedom as an Australian. And so I have never felt the need to join the military.

That being said, if there was an invasion tomorrow (and I can't see this happening) it would most likely be in retaliation for something, because now with immigration, you just have to ask to be let in. But let's say for arguments sake that China decided enough was enough, and they wanted to stretch their rule, well hell yeah, I would be willing to die to defend my country (along with al my Chinese buddies). Mainly because I could never be abe to grapple with Chinese language!

I guess the nature of war has changed, and with all these multilateral forums used to exert the political will of states, it kind of makes war seem an unecessary (and costly) method of decisive sovereign action. I mean it's pretty impressive just how much cross country diplomacy is exerted on the international stage these days. Which means that for your country to dominate in this arena - you need more than military savvi. And I think a good head for business and diplomacy is the preferred weapon of choice for most states.

Life / Expats in Poland - would you fight for your new country? [105]

whether or not those expats would heed the call up themselves and physically fight for Poland, if, hypothetically, Poland ever found itself in a conflict

This is a question of allegiance, and therefore is a matter of free will and choice, and therefore loyalty to one particular country or another - a sene of duty. This proves that nationhood can not be demonstrated by where you pay taxes. Taxes are NOT a choice and given the choice, many would not pay them no matter where they lived.

We are talking about the ultimate sacrifice...

Good question Dan :)

News / Smoking ban in Polish bars and restaurants (AT LAST!) [400]

They banned smoking because it was a danger to the health of people working in pubs and restaurants. After the ban I was out having a beer, but it was hard to get service because all the waiters/bartenders were outside... Smoking.

SMOKING... linked to bad service...

History / Christopher Colombowicz: America's discoverer Polish not Portuguese, claim historians [60]

It turns out that Christopher Columbus was Polish, not Italian. Just as well he wasn't thinking of setting out for the New World today.

Otherwise he would have stopped off in Southampton, immediately found work as a plumber and someone else would have had to discover America.

Oh how I miss England...

Hey I lived in Southampton with a leaky toilet for 3 years! (with Poles!)

Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Has anyone heard about what is added to Polish beer? Instead of hops there seems to be a cheaper alternative - brace yourselves - the bitter gall from animals' gall bladders!

NOOOOO!

Ah, F*ck it.

Life / Polish history questions on the streets; Poles are not doing great. [37]

hmmm, I would have thought that was implied.

It's like saying Blacks were given the right to vote, but only if they didn't have a master...

There can only be equal rights when they are as unconditional as those given to everyone else in society regardless of gender or race...

Life / Polish history questions on the streets; Poles are not doing great. [37]

I think you'll find NZ was the first country to give full, unconditional voting rights to women in the year 1893...

"New Zealand's Electoral Act of 19 September 1893 made this isolated outpost of the British Empire the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote in parliamentary elections"

YES, history CAN actually be made outside of Europe and America. Shock horror!

Life / Polish history questions on the streets; Poles are not doing great. [37]

Your history is in your art, and your future is in your hands.

New Zealand also has a female Prime Minister, and was the first country to give women the vote. It is a safe and prosperous nation with a well protected environment and is a good place to do business. It is peaceful and ranks highly in the list of good places to live.

So shouldn't you know more about countries like this that set a good example for the world. Or are we to be blamed for being ignorant if we aren't professors on every war ravaged European nation? Most first world countries only know that people fleed these places by the droves...

And if you're Greek, you're hardly slavic. You should be espousing ancient greek contributions to culture...

Life / How Long Before Poland Has Its 'Dumbest Generation'? [84]

US has no idea what a good public transport is since the car industry had to sell millions of it and they keep doing it, so they had to paint the public transport with a negative brush. Also, the distances in the US usually require a car anyways.

What distances...? the distances between the Empire State Building and the Grand Canyon? The White House and the moon? The suburbs and the Hypermarkets? or the cradle to the grave...?

How much distance does one need to travel in the States...?

And surely by your rationale, the greater the distance the more someone would need a faster mode of transport, such as the train or plane...? Or does this put to death the notion of the "Great American Road Trip?"

Love / Polish relationships (race and religion) [140]

No, it isn't, but tell that to the rest of society.

Who says they're right? Ethics still matters doesn't it?

I have always said that the problem with our generation is that we have grown up in the shadow of the baby boomers...this generation had the best of everything and created the kind of capital risk that we are paying for whilst trying to emulate their level of consumption.

Half of them are misguided conservative nitwits who do not fit into the new world order. I hate that there is such a residue of them left in politics. Greedy bastards, but who can blame them, they will be long dead soon and the world can right itself.

I think many people contemplete suicide, because when we are angry or upset we do not think straight. Resilience is the only thing we need in these times and a lot of people in their lifetimes or possibly for generations have not experienced the hardships we are experiencing now.

To be alive is no guarantee of anything, and a lot is not even in your hands to control so please don't feel bad. And if you do feel bad about it it doesn't make you a bad person.

And many people are disillusioned with capitalism... join the bandwagon. It has only worked for a few, and now that it doesn't work for white people as well, it might actually be reconsidered...

Love / Polish relationships (race and religion) [140]

Easiest thing to say for people with a fat wallet, but unfortunately, nobody loves poor people.

You've got me wrong and now you are playing the victim. I've been largely unemployed for the past 2 years since I graduated. As a result of this my partner left me. I had to return to Aus because of this. It sux but I ain't no victim. "I got my arms, I got my legs, I got my boobies, I got my HAIR!!!!" (sorry bout that)

You need to listen to some black liberation songs and read some philosophy - it's helped me greatly...

"The important thing about a problem is not its solution, but the strength we gain in finding the solution."

My wallet's not fat but does it really matter? It's not all that we are surely? Unsubscribe from capitalist indoctrination.

It could be worse, you could be a poor man in Bangladesh WITH wife and kids... no fairytale indeed!

Love / Polish relationships (race and religion) [140]

I agree, it's a mess. When life gets tough, we look to people to blame. No-one wants to be dependent on others and it is the worst position to be in for EVERYBODY. There's just too many of us - and that includes you. So there's no need to be reckless with your life cause you still have something to say - and that's vital.

Europe will pull itself out of this mess. And i'm no economist but i'm sure open borders have many benefits to everyone. But the problem is we want our cheap groceries and our bourgoise lifestyle as well! And we tantalise so many around the world with this prospect... we've marketed the dream but the reality is a nightmare. We want it all and it's eating us all up.

And i've seen plenty of people lose everything, my family included. It makes you stronger - and yet more cynical. The system is flawed, our way of thinking even more. I took from my education what I wanted to see the world clearer. I am no educated fool. But I will die with knowledge so I will die smiling. :)

Just try to love, that's all you can do sometimes.

You benefit from AND suffer the legacies of the dead...

Otherwise what's national identity anyway if you're not prepared to accept the chapters in your nation's history as ongoing...?

Life / Any there treatment centers for unmarried in Poland? [36]

I bet when you look for an appartment to live in, you look in those good white neighborhoods where the chance of being raped is much, much less. Love multiculties; they are so idealistic and naive.

Yeah it's not enough just to HAVE multi cultures, you have to allow those people to assimilate as well, so that their aspiratinos of becoming good, hard working, honest and law abiding citizens can come true... ;) Otherwise you end up with ghettos full of unemployed and outcast groups which over generations breed "nationalised" unemployed outcasts... this is more of a problem than the first wave of immigrants who are likely more curious, intimidated and desperate.

It's when you get the second and third generationers who get the chip on their shoulder but with the same rights as the rest of the citizens that the problems can start.

Ask to see your country's immigration and assimilation manifesto... it takes all the management of building a new national identity and it must be intelligently done or can **** up whole cities irreversibly.

You can't open doors and then ignore the incomers. And that starts with education of the locals, which by the sound of it on these forums, actually has a long way to go. Or we may find that Poland is just as capable of perpetrating racism as being subject to it. :)

Poland has always been a nation of emmigres... that may reverse in time, and this undoubtedly effect your darling Polonia.

UK, Ireland / Any Polish looking for work in Birmingham UK? [17]

yeah it is... if there's a job available - the best person should be given it on the basis of their skills, not their nationality. I'm so glad i'm not in Europe anymore - and you guys call us racist. sheesh!

Love / Polish relationships (race and religion) [140]

there's always been mixing people... you are talking about people with different genetic adaptions THAT IS ALL!

Accept that what you're talking about refers to economics and your threatened manhood and is based on fear and nothing more. Your "fellow" white brothers are just as much a threat if not more - but you'd rather chastise a group on the basis of their appearance.

Just because he speakes a different language to you does not mean he should not be accepted a citizen with rights and respect - it is your government who has permitted immigration - by fair and democratic means.

Why don't you find new methods of attracting women - or just change your attitude which is probably ugly to women anyway. You feel threatened... you should look at why.

And remember, these are people from countries your ancestors felt free to colonise and exploit by unfair and undemocratic means when your nations were building their immense European wealth. Way to let bygones be bygones...

Non-reproducing people also promote isolationism, increase in cats population and xenophobia. Something has to be done.

Are you aware how hilarious you are...?

Have you looked at the population rates lately? Not much to worry about on that score.

And most relationships end up in homicide anyway. ;)

Love / Such a Very Sad Loss.. fighting the battle with a Polish lady to see my daugher. [56]

On a Lighter note,I'm fine although still obviously sad re:my Mother & dissapointed concerning what happened for me Initially to place my post however your reply's have been very nice to read and Once again I thank you all. I would like to give a special Thank you too patrycja19 as your post made alot of sense to me and I felt it.

All endings have new beginnings.

I recently changed everything in my life, and I used a separation to do this. It always helps returning to familiar surroundings, and there is no better company than a dog...;)

People can be harsh and cruel but we really don't understand their intentions. Being alone is sometimes a better comfort and you will find creative ways to heal. Pain helps you find god, I really believe this. We are better off having experienced loss, better at understanding it and better at finding ways to cope, cause eventually we can at any time lose those external things...

Try to laugh. It really is the best way of coming through to the other side. You are part of a community of human beings just trying to make it through each day. You are blessed to be alive, there is no shame in your pain.

Take care.

News / Will many Poles migrate to Germany in May 2011 (after opening labor market)? [157]

Doesn't it say something, for instance, about the UK "human rights" organizations?

Because they're too busy concerning themselves with Africa. They're obsessed with Africa - I think it's a colonial thing...

I think also that the UK has a different mentality to that found on the continent. This is obvious to some. Perhaps Brits feel more estranged from the Poles. Hell, they are estranged from each other some of them.

I do think that Brits have been pretty tolerant on the whole. How would Poland cope if 1.2 million foreigners turned up overnight, spreading an unfamiliar language and transforming the native culture for better or worse?

It doesn't help that there is already an entrenched class system in Britain, and a large working class establishment which always feels most threatened by immigration and economic crises such as the one at the moment.

The whole thing is an example of rapid development. Does the union have the wealth to spread to all its member nations? we'll see I guess. But it looks as though rather than the expansion benefitting the countries concerned, it is benefitting the individuals who make good in their new country, but leaves social repercussions back home and in their chosen countries. What does it say when everyone wants to shift and leave their country...?

How fickle nationality is.
