News / Polish Independence Day March in Warsaw. Is it going to be the biggest march yet? [1530]

But their actions are understandable human, I think. The wish for revenge must have been enormous.

The US could afford to be so generous because they don't have been devastated and haven't suffered such enormous losses...and they were far away, they had a more global view of the happenings (and a smart leadership).

I remember reading about the popularity of the occupier with the Germans...far on top where the US and by far the most disliked where the French, who for awhile behaved like the Russians in the East and got out of their zone what they could get their hands on...till the US made them stop.

Maybe it's a rivalry thing.

*coughfootballcough*

I'm fairly sure I can guess what it is.

Many Brits begrudge Germany it's rise from the ashes to the top after WWII...it was the same time as Great Britain became smaller and smaller and lost it's Empire and felt it somewhat undeserved lost its place in the sun.

Not fair! That's why they are still singing war songs during football matches to remind the Germans who actually won the war! :)

The Frenchies just surrendered and aren't living down that humiliation either...there is no grudge to have.

A German automotive industry is being supplied by auto parts and modules from Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic.

So...how many polish, hungarian and czech families are being fed by the german economy?

a guy who is known for openly supporting and praising Putin wants Poland to come under his influence.

Yeah...I'm puzzled too.

Much of what Spike is posting could come directly from the Kreml.

Spike, you know that a disunified split Europe would leave only many weak parts and only one big winner, don't you?

How can you call yourself pro-Polish when everything you are wishing for is pro-Russian?

How can you ignore that you stay shoulder to shoulder with Putin in everything you want to happen?

With nearly every post you make the Putinistas clap in delight!

WHY????

History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

I think most are like you and me..looking for a nice and quiet place out...there is nothing to be done. It's in the hand of the young people, it's their future after all...and there doesn't seem to be much concern...so...*shrugs*

I love you both and that ping-pong is fun to watch.

We love you more! :)

In the meantime, the white race is really getting f***ed, here and in Europe.

The high point of the western superiority is definitely coming to an end. The planet shrinks.

What to do about it?

Accepting and make the most of it?

or

Not accepting and....what?

So...you don't have your own facts and stats to prove your "opinion" so all others get called "lies"?

It's like bad math...when you keep adding the wrong variables you shouldn't be surprised that the equation doesn't add up and that the outcome will be always wrong.

When I would plan longterm for the end of the EU, the downfall of Germany, the isolation of Poland I would much rather start with a honest account of the reality today and build up my strategy from that.

Starting with the wrong basics will never lead to your desired outcome Spike. So instead to call everything you don't like a lie and ignore what doesn't fit into your world view you should study these surveys and facts and how they developed and came to pass.

Well..when you state your opinion that the moon is made up of blueberry yoghurt and I find only stats and facts pointing out, proving something totally different...nun ja...as much as I like you and think you are a really great guy...ummm....

You just can't stop these Germans can you?

I can't help it...it's all facts! :)

I keep posting such things also to comfort the Dirk's of this forum who seem to be so incredibly concerned about the coming doom of the german people to show that this is an unnecessary worry...Germans are just everywhere (even if not always in name)...we can't die out or be overtaken, heh:)

Those two simple steps would improve situation dramatically.

How would a "repolonization" of some polish news outlets change anything?

1: no messy post-exit negotiations.

Oh god Spike...after the end of the EU Poland still would have to renegotiate EVERYTHING with EVERYBODY totally new. But this time without being part of the biggest and most wealthy consumer market on Earth but only by it's own small self. It will get messy of course!

How you believe the outcome of these negotiations would be in any way better for Poland is again beyond me.

A federation, which on top of that, may even want to arm itself independently from NATO

You sure you want to depend your defense on someone like Trump?

Why not invest in an european defense force?

News / Polish Independence Day March in Warsaw. Is it going to be the biggest march yet? [1530]

Sure it is. A heaven on earth.

Most Poles seem to think so...a survey (gotta love them) from 2018:

Support for EU membership reaches record high in Poland despite showdown with Brussels

independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/poland-eu-membership-support-for-membership-courts-rule-of-law-mateusz-morawiecki-juncker-a8149876.html

A new survey by pollsters CBOS shows 92 per cent of the Polish population wants to remain in the EU, up three per cent on the last poll ....

Whupping! :)

I can't help it but come to the conclusion that the Spikes, Mafketis and Miloslaws of this forum are far removed from the true realities on the continent...

In my opinion Poland should minimize all the political impact of its Western neighbour in order to flourish. Economic exchange is not a problem.

People move, they travel, they make contacts, they resettle, they intermarry, societies in Europe mingle, of course they impact each other.....especially with close neighbours.....how should that "minimizing" actually work in reality? A wall?

Unless it is addressed,it wil lead to the break up of The EU.

I'm not so sure....one of these surveys I posted (Mafketis did actually), showed that Germany was more liked and trusted than the EU.

Interesting! I think they would rather follow Germany even as they don't like Brussels....and as long Germany stays in they will too...

History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

Germans to russian,

Actually it's the other way around...the Russians are related to the german blue bloods (Catherine the Great was prussian)....as are most european royals.

....following are of German descent:

Royal Family of Belgium
Royal Family of United Kingdom
Royal Family of Denmark
Royal Family of Liechtenstein
Royal Family of Luxembourg (Now Italian House of Bourbon-Parma but historically Germanic House of Nassau)
Royal Family of Holland
Royal Family of Norway

....In the past German House of Habsburg has even ruled Spain & Mexico. Hohenzollerns ruled Romania. German houses also ruled Greece and some other countries....

are the entire source of Greek problems.

Greece is a failed state that never should had been allowed to become an EURO zone member.

Germany helped out as their sh't exploded into their faces to avoid worse...that's all there is. And yes, the money Germany helped Greece out with was on the funds of the honest german taxpayers.

If you want to cry tears on behalf of the Greeks, please go elsewhere.

I'm leaving now too, and when you want to start another round of that dreary "Nobody likes Germany" - spiel I'm now armed with lotsa links which prove that the opposite is true and I will post them as often as you do.

So, till later...

I think Germany should accept this fact and simply continue its mostly good work towards a new German mentality in a new German society

That's what the mass immigration is for! :)

But seriously Ziemowit, with so many non-Germans living in Germany, from all over Europe now even from far across the world...where would you make out a new Germany mentality? And how should all these newcomers handle WWII? Where do you draw the line?

Is it even possible for an ever more mixed people to have and change one mentality?

And not a meeting place of equals after all?

You can have different talents and still be equal, right?

that sooner or later German interests and the interests of the other countries will come into conflict.

Which conflicting interests? To live in a stable society with a well off economy through peace and cooperation on the continent?

which will naturally lead to resentment.

Nobody was forced to take german money, they begged for it.

The German problem - it's doomed to be too powerful to be a team player,

We managed quite well for the last 50 years, thank you very much!

Crucially, the country that Germany has experienced German power most intimately is not one that is fond of Germany (even if many Greeks still go there for the money).

Not "even", but "because"....and frankly...I can live with that. Because I fear the only way to gain greek support would have been gifting them as much hard cash as they want.

Germany is popular but isn't popular enough to be acclaimed as EU leader (the role it clearly wants)

Totally wrong!!!

That's the one role Germany never wanted. The EU was meant as a carriage led by two horses, France and Germany. It was clear from the beginning (after WWII) that Germany would take a backseat and concentrate more on feeding the new Union...being the economical motor. The more glamorous role was for France, it was to be the face, the outside image, the do the show...the head...with Germany the heart.

It was the weakness of France during the last decade which FORCED Germany upfront, never by choice. And there are alot of Germans wishing for France to come back to fulfill it's role so that we can slink back again. Believe me!

Popularity isn't that big a deal.

Well...you manage post after post with stating how unpopular Germany is...it seems to matter a great deal to you.

Thank you!

From you own link:

Across the European countries surveyed, Germany is overwhelmingly seen in a positive light.

Large majorities in seven of nine EU nations surveyed view Germany favorably.

Which also proves AGAIN that your own personal opinion about Germany doesn't count for *** !

Maybe you should mark your statements in the future as that what they are, your own personal opinion, and not facts!

And thanks again for that link....Spike will hate that:

Whupping 80% of the Poles view Germany favorable...who would have thought! :)
