News / Polish Foreign Ministry 'prepared' for new Wikileaks material [100]

US diplomats have informed that the confidential documents that are to be released online may include materials concerning negotiations with Poland. They may predominantly concern bilateral talks on the deployment of the anti-missile shield in Poland, claims spokesperson for the Polish Foreign Ministry, Marcin Bosacki.

thenews.pl/international/artykul144394_poland-to-become-russia-ambassador-to-eu.html

Last time Wikileaks revealed Polish special services ( GROM ) activity in afganistan and Iraq and that the Polish intelligence had warned of plans of an attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul in 2008. But the Indian ignored them and On 7 July 2008, a car bomb loaded with explosives killed 58 people at the embassy, including a number of Indian diplomats. New Delhi blamed the attack on Pakistan special services.

thenews.pl/international/artykul136386.html

So what do you think they will reveal this time more then the deployment of the anti-missile shield in Poland?

Would be fun to find out what the American goverment thinks about the Poles. Since they seems to have very fun opinions about other countries and their leaders. They called the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin an "alpha-dog," and the Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai is "driven by paranoia" and they describe German Chancellor Angela Merkel as one who "avoids risk and is rarely creative."

News / Looted Polish paintings found and return to Poland [14]

It's german landowners who lost everything in the East.

Impossible to compare it to the polish losses.

But yes i agree with you. Even though many of the ruling classes in silesia had polish ancestry.

Much of it were lost in the hands of the soviets. many castles and manors around Poland and Germany were looted by the soviets. I seriously can't even imagine how much is hidden in Russia today. And i guess i will never find it out either.

News / Looted Polish paintings found and return to Poland [14]

BB i agree with you that the Berlinka should be returned to its rightfull owners but will the poles ever get back what the nazis looted and destroyed?

We lost millions of manuscripts and thousands of historical buildings.

The favourite place to loot artifacts and other historical and cultural stuff for a German officer was not in a French Palace, it was in the Polish ones due to the fact that the poles were famous art collectors.

When will the former polish landowners get back their belongings that were stolen from them by the nazis and the soviets?

History / The Greatest King of Poland? [117]

And finally not all Poles were in favor of the revolution, many landlords actively supported the Russian forces.

Yes indeed. One of the Lubomirski members refused to transport the gunpowder that was the main deposit of the Polish army. He was scared to loose his lands incase the russians would have won which they did.

4. Although the Poles had the numbers they did not have the equipment to fight a sustained battle against two professional armies.

They did have the equipment but the equipment was scattered between all the magnate estates and some magnates refused to share it because they feared the wrath of the Czarina.

Life / Poland's National Anthem "Mazurek DÄ…browskiego" (download mp3) [49]

When Poland got partitioned the Poles were scattered around Europe fighting for others independence and some Poles were stationed in Italy at that time.

Their dream was an independet Poland but it would take them 100 years before they would achieve it.

Their beauty declines between 40-50 in my opinion.

News / Praising Poland can be dangerous [45]

Jesus, stop bleating about history! Attitudes like yours are why Poland will remain to be unimportant,

Want me to obey master?

because you're too busy crying about the past to assume your place as somewhat of a leader among the Central-Eastern European countries

We were and will be for eternity. Just give us a couple of years to get our GDP up.

No-one likes a crybaby, especially one that keeps dragging up history to justify everything.

Want me to lie? Seems to me that you can't handle the truth ;)

I rather be proud of my history then be an ignorant twat like you.

They don't give Poland that much thought.

Yes indeed. I wonder why we are so unimportant today? could it be because we got betrayed by our dear friends at yalta?

It's not easy for a proud people that have been the masters of others for many centuries to obey and get stomped on like some serfs.

News / Praising Poland can be dangerous [45]

...the same west that is often cited as the root of all Polands problems is it?

I don't see west as the "problem" to Poland.

That of course is on the rare occasion that you actually admit that Poland has any problems ; )

Poland got plenty of problems. I just don't like to paint Poland in negativity.

I think most "western" politicians and even media use the term "eastern" just to undermine Polands position in the modern western society.

It's all about jealous and ignorant people that don't know better.

News / Smoking ban in Polish bars and restaurants (AT LAST!) [400]

Why not campaign against alcohol? That's what I don't understand. I think it's a bit hypocritical to mention those things and not campaign against alcohol consumption. The truth is, you just don't like coming home smelling like smoke, and you feel that should be legislated.

Why campaign at all? Let people live their lives...

Smoking bans are just ridiculous.

Travel / Would Polish visit Greece for it's islands or for it's history ? [30]

To be honest, none of the Poles I know would be that interested in a beach/restaurant holiday. They would all favour the history/architecture/museum aspect.

Actually i would really like to see those awsome historical buildings Greece got but everytime im on vacation in Greece i just chill at the beach.

I think its because of the heat... After walking like 50 meters to the nearest shop im totally exhausted.

Travel / Would Polish visit Greece for it's islands or for it's history ? [30]

I guess that if I had a Polish group I would have to make sure there is no visit at museums whatsoever eh ;)

Depends. I think older poles finds it very interesting.

Just a nice resort with reasonable prices close to the sea and nice bars and restaurants around ?

That should be standard for every tourist island.

Love / Such a Very Sad Loss.. fighting the battle with a Polish lady to see my daugher. [56]

The problem with you is that you're to nice to her. Some women like a strong partner, i mean if she even dare to punch you in the face it kinda shows that you were her bi'tch. Don't get me wrong i really feel you man.

Best thing you could do is to forget about her and next time you find someone of your liking try to make sure she ain't the aggresive type.

It's plenty fish in the sea mate!

hes a kitchen porter doing 39 and scratching his arse unless i beg him to do his job. No thats not his right it is his right to work as hard as i have in my career and to get paid what i get paid by working for it not by cheating the government

How is he cheating? He is working his hours and he is also collecting the benefits that he has the right too just as you do.

A debate is a discussion by two people on a subject they are both knowledgeable on ur just trolling sweetheart

Cry me a river. How can i or anyone for that matter even discuss with you when everytime you feel uncomfortable you cry and call other "troll"

of course Im jealous I work twicw as hard get paid twice as much and drive a heap of shite cause im honest.

So its ok fo you to earn twice as much right? but its not okey for them to earn less and have the same rights?

LOL - OK - Discussion over for me - you're obviously trolling.

Was just teasing you :( Im so sorry that i can't bend over and take all the crap your writing from the behind.

What are basing this acute observation on David - have you even been there?

Not in ireland. But been traveling into the U.K plenty of times to visit some friends. Most of the things i know is by reading the newspapers and other online sources.

Not some - lots - time and time again.

Whatever makes you happy!

1. You go to a foreign country and in your place of work you speak only your native tongue with your fellow countrymen 6 of you 1 english speaking thatt is ignorance yes

Not really. I call it normal to speak your native language with your fellow countrymen.

I grew up in Africa I speak 6 different languages in Ireland english in Holland dutch when I move to poland polish its a respect thing

Good for you, i hope you find a job that makes use of your Language skills.

2. In my town in my place of work there are people on minimum wage driving merceded benz 7 actually new ones too

Do i smell some jealousy?

when I asked how they can afford it they cheat the government they collect rent allowance child support and so on and so forth and they are proud of it

Anything wrong to collect your rights? they are still working their arsh of?

Just as there is a minority In ireland who have a bad attitude towards poles there is an even larger minority of poles with a bad attitude towards the Irish.

And your accusations are based on facts? i don't think so.

I see. So Irish people innately have something against Polish people - before they even encounter any. Right.

No.

I'll try a guess - I think they would get a very bad reception.

Depends. If they just sit and live on our tax money then yes people would get pissed, but if they work hard i would't see any problem with them being in Poland.

You have some cheek accusing other countries of anti-Polish attitudes when your own is one of the most (if not the most) racist in Europe.

Accusing? I'm just telling you the truth. I sincerely hope that your country can improve its behaviour to its hardworking guests.

And yes some poles are racists. Kinda funny due to the fact that we don't even got black people in Poland. The racism must have been imported from abroad... U.K or Ireland maybe? ;)

Sorry, I forgot, you are one these people who think Poles sh1te bars of soap aren't you?

Sorry to burst your illusion but among the hard working Poles there are plenty who do the bare minimum and plenty who live off the state. I've met them.

Like i said you would find me some examples of lazy poles. But this is something your govement needs to work on. i don't understand why you have a wellfare system that benefits the lazy ones. WORK WORK WORK!

Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others.

Ther are thousands of poles who are financially better off because they came to Ireland

Yes thank you vey much for braindraining our country!

This is one of the things i don't like when people thinks its okey to threat people like sh*t just because they come from a poorer country and just try to earn a living and maybe save some so he can have a decent life in his fatherland.
