Was there sex in Poland during communist regime?

To do a 5-min thing he would have to run to the destroyed by bombs store to buy candles, roses, table-cloth, curtains with some fancy needle-work and only after two hours of courting and flirting, when he is already out of breath from searching all the ingredients to a woman's heart and 5-min. finale, she says: "That's it?!". Women are hardcore communists.

Don't be so rough on them. Sometimes, it takes time to understand specifics of this high art and when you have a great fantasy mind, it is cooler to paint stuff in your brain than to look for some freak with hairy ar*e. Women surprise me so much :) But if they didn't, we would be running after chimps hoping to get laid. So, we, men, are so damn lucky ;)

Nathan, since you live in your tiny world which is no more than a chapter of delusions I'm not a snap surprised with your views (let's put it mildly) you involuntarily spread. I'm sure you won't mind if I add my couple kopeeks. She said "We've got no sex in the USSR, we've got LOVE".

IMHO, for healthy people sex or love is a thing to make (do), not to discuss.

I am still happy that you found the time to look into my tiny world and read my chapter :)

for healthy people sex or love is a thing to make (do), not to discuss.

Healthy people discuss topics, be it about love, sex, space, aliens or even about those who deny it or claim it non-existent. Discussion is the only way to evolve. This is why PF and other forums are able to survive - because people are interested in experiences of others, not just their own.

Even on PF there're some people who can be called that only by a stretch of imagination, even though they "discuss" topics. Also some topics are not worth being discuss.

As for your topic... I just make it complete. No offense.

Nonsense. It's a positive thing to discuss sex and all related issues, because people can learn a great deal about themselves that way. It may help quite a few people to overcome their shame, their issues or even their insecurities. You may actually find out you're pretty normal.

It is always a pleasure to get input from various sides of the issue, especialy Russian, as the woman who denied existence of sex in SU was Russian. I hoped you would be more keen to submit extensively on the co-patriot's thoughts. No matter what, feel free to come back, Sasha ;)

What a funny thread.

as the woman who denied existence of sex in SU was Russian.

Did she explain where the new generations of russkies came from then? Can't blame everything on storks and a cabbage patch!
If anything, people had a great sex life to forget the stinky politics. Even small apartments with three generations living in them could not stop the fun. Couples had 5-10 kids. I had lots of uncles and aunts... you know! And what now - one or two? The stress of protection, expenses, education..eeek :) Watching prn on the net replaced the joy of sex. How healthy is that?

Luckily she wasn't asked about that ;) We would end up with another thread.

You associate sex with number of kids. I don't think this is exactly correct. But again I am just a messenger ;)

Watching pûrn on the net replaced the joy of sex. How healthy is that?

Guys (girls too, I think) found out that sex is more diverse than just kids mass-production and since the other half can't completely compete with the advances of the world's internet community imagination, net becomes a reliable partner in whatever advantures one is willing to participate :) Also even a little fight with a spouse often ends up in guy's abstinence more than physically tolerable and that factor again forces him to touch a delicate fur of a computer mouse ;)

Some prefer to call it complementary therapy.

In communism each one deserved an equal amount of sex except party officers who had a premium.

Did you have sex?

Yes. My first time took place in a luxurious hotel in Zakopane where we spent 3 gorgeous days. It was 1987 and I was a uni student in late communism.

Studies. It is a commonly held belief that too much exposure to online prn causes people (men mostly) to become desensitized to sex and to withdraw from seeking it as much in real life. The proliferation of sex on the internet is creating a generation of wanking solitude pervs.

Exactly. While millions were crammed in small rooms, 4-6 people in each and got pregnant through simple skin touch like some worms do and knew nothing of forbidden by communism pleasures of flesh, others (we won't mention names here) spent time in luxurious hotels somewhere in mountains savouring capitalistic propaganda. It is like having a feast amidst the plague, Pawian. How dare you to be so insensative and vulgar? ;)

Yes, it looked like dancing on Lenin`s tomb.

Nope. An ordinary citizen with a family in US. I remember it exactly, it was enough to sell 400$ (four hundred) in the black market to be able to support oneself for a year, including food, flat rent and bills, Fiat 126p car, studies, girlfriend, dog, holidays, and 3 days in a luxurious hotel. :):):):)

Average salary then was 25$ by black market prices.

When we ask about sex in Poland in that period the answer is: 38 000 000 citizens + 60 000 abortions for year.

When we ask about sex business (prn, toys, pictures, books, movies, punctured stockings...) the answer is: there is no sex business without business itself. Under Rusian occupation free economy was vanished in years 1945-1947. Some small businessmen/craftsmen were barely fighted for survive. Business just as sex business recuperated in late 80'. But of course both in 70' and 80' we could find almost all on flea marked brought or even smuggled from abroad. And of course every Polish movie and every coloured magazine monthly, weekly, daily had its hot section or corner with hot scenes and hot girls.

When we ask about sex knowledge and education the answer is: incomparably better than all I can see and hear today. There was a lot of (as for that time) books written by sexuologists, psychologists, pedagogists, and doctors about every aspect of sexual life. Without myths, nonsenses, religious or prnographic influences. There were books for grown ups and for teenagers. The famous names I remember from that time are: Kozakiewicz, Imielinski, Samson, Wislocka, Starowicz but there was many many others. Mentioned Wislocka's "Sztuka Kochania" (Art of Love) was in fact for teenagers but in late 70' it was the first book red by "dark crowd" (after Kaczynski) and became a very popular. Of course the form of information in that time was quite stiff and science-like (no realistic illustrations) and we couldn't see how, for example, sb's birdie looks like. What a loss!
