First off, I don't want genealogical help, I just am using a personal example and am curious about how often inter-region settlement happened in Poland.
My personal example.
One branch of my family happens to be from Ponizie, Podlaskie (and I believe for a while they lived in the Voivodeship to the west of Podlaskie) . However, they have a Silesian surname. The other two last names may not be from there either. One is from an (Unknown) dialectical term for vodka, and one happens to indicate that they were from Zwolen.
Is it common for surnames from certain areas of the country to be present in other areas?
