How is Israel an American puppet if you have little influence on their policies. Is it in the interest of America(ns) that Israel invades Liban and pushes vast swaths of the country back into stone age???? Arabs have an issue with the US for quite long (long before Desert storm) exactly for the US support of the Israel in many various ways. (in the early nineties the direct funding of the Isreal by the US was around 10 billion dollars yearly) America has nothing to gain by supporting Israel, it just antagonizes Arabs furthermore (if it is still possible). I guess you don't hope for American Empire (over Middle East anyone???) Americans have enough energy, bright minds and heart etc to remain well-off without an Empire.
Why will Poland always be the puppet of America?
Well, the support doesn't need to be as hefty as it is. Being on one's side is enough and that shouldn't always involved billions of dollars.

We have more influence than you think.
One question I have for forum members:
Why is it topics about Poland end up being about Israel? This thread is about Poland being a puppet of the US suddenly someone HAS to bring up Israel. Why is that?
It is odd, I tried to steer it back on course above in post 30, HB. I asked you an interesting question there, HB!
Yes, you have... too much influence over America :) ...
.. Mr Rahm Emanuel :P

a ping-pong match between America and Iran,
Well, there's talk now of befriending Iran. America is trying to take the diplomatic route and queen Noor is leading the way.
Oh, harsh rhetoric is still being put out there by Obama. Befriending is a little too far. Then a pretext would be needed to make them the enemy again ;) ;)
How do you see this so-called diplomacy going, HB?
Anyway, my bad. Poland does seem like a corporate client rather than a fully-fledged ally.

Yet you cannot percieve my message in this thread properly. What would happen if revanchist Russia trying to secure here accessions made during five day war and and engage in the pursuit of this goal will open hostilities against Poland as a most annoying neighbor? Do you think that America will stand up for Poland or thinking that it will be too precarious undertaking will prudently recede.

America will stand up for Poland so long as Poland is a NATO member. It's part of the treaty.

you're naive Bunch :)
gumishu, you sound like a pessimist. The reason for NATO is to thwart aggression from Russia. If Russia attacks a NATO country, it's like they are attacking all of us so we are all committed to respond.
LOL, yir havin a laff ;) My American geography is pretty good but I fall short from not having lived there.
not so anymore Bunch - now that Germany, France and even Italy seem to pamper Russia
Hungary and Slovakia licking their ass
that is why Poland would want American troops on our soil in the first place
but I would not count on present cynical American administrations too much

Considering Poland's the one who wanted to be a part of NATO, you would have to ask them. Apparently they thought it was necessary at the time.

No, serious man, you sound like you lived in the states for at least ten years or so. Actually you're good about everything, not just geography. I'm seriously surprised to hear, you've never lived in the US. The way you're talking about us, I could swear, you got some first hand knowledge about our country. Great job Seanus.

not having lived there.
Yeah why are you Sean US if you never lived here?
I don't wanna doubt anybody's sincerity, that's not my gig. I detect sarcasm, though ;) I watched a lot of American TV and have read widely. I used to drink a lot with Americans here til early morning and we chatted a lot about the States.
That's no substitute for the real thing though.
Let's face it, America has some great places to visit and super entertainment.

I did the same with Brits but I don't constantly criticize them Seanus. Help me understand your point Seanus.

That's the spirit, lol.
It's back to the basic difference between the government and the people. The crucial dichotomy that, if we don't see, lives stand to be lost.
America has so many things going for it. I love classic American cars. Trans-Am Pontiacs, Chevies, Cameros and Cadillacs to name but a few.
Some of the natural scenery is superb too. I just hate the corruption and get angry when people don't see it.
The topic is growing legs and beginning to wander.

Is Poland a Puppet?
Poland does ot need to be anyone's puppet...And if Poland is a puppet, make sure you identify the real ventriloquist.

Let's hope it gets wings and takes flight ;)
"Where wings take dream", lol. So long as Poland can betray its Slavic brethren like Serbia by backing America blindly then it's gonna be a puppet for a long time. Public support for NATO will also bolster that position.

Public support for NATO will also bolster that position.
Seanus don't forget that Poland wanted to be included in NATO.
I know that, HB. They joined in 1999 and Kwaśniewski rallied the support of the people. The opinion polls show around 70% support for NATO membership these days. You might remember him, he visited Bush one time.
Seanus I would point out that president Kaczynski was not so keen on acknowlegding Kosove's sovereignity in contrast to Mr Tusk. It definitely backfired soon on Americans anyway when the Osetian/ Abkhazian thing sprang up. There were some serious ethinc purges by Albanians in Kosovo to my knowlegde. Thousands of Serbs have been displaced. I have once talked with a guy who worked as a policeman in Kosovo. The whole intervention in Kosovo (including bombing infrastructure in Serbia itself - destroyed power stations and bridges) was a bold disrespect of international law and a **************. Btw most if not allegations of war crimes by Serbian army (in Kosovo) have never been confirmed. (to my knowlegde)

They were invited in 1997 along with Hungary and Czech Republic.
This is another sign of being on puppet strings. I'm glad Kaczyński stood up for the cause of Kosovo being Serbian. The Russians did too but America and Albania had some kind of alliance.
To me, it just smacked of unwarranted meddling. Wasn't bombing Serbia in 1999 enough? That devastated their country badly, Belgrade lay in tatters :(
I wonder if Tusk feels Slavic. He is a Kashubian and I know little of their ways. He seems to be puppet material.

Who the hell cares about Georgia?
If you don't care, you are a fool. Seeing international politics through your basement window and backyard is primitive , Teresa. You can't care for yourself wthout looking what is going on in your neighbor's house.
America has nothing to gain by supporting Israel
Who said it has? Israel defends Israel - how difficult it is to understand? America is only a purse.
I just hate the corruption and get angry when people don't see it.
you just said not too long ago that you never lived in the states so I wonder why you're talking about it because I will be absolutely honest with you, I've never really faced any corruption myself. I'm not saying it doesn't exist but it's not something that common people feel to be surrounded with on daily bases. I guess you mean politicians and all of the big money makers but to be honest this is not just our problem. I bet, UK, Germany, Poland and basically all of the other countries have the same problem and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. That's why I hate all politicians, doesn't matter where they're from.
Teresa, what is your name in Russian? Tamara??
OMG, pawian I didn't expect that from you. :(
Poland will be a puppet like all of Europe.
The Vatican will become an impressive Mosque complex and the filthy streets of European cities will be roamed by herds of Africans, still looking for the promised land, which unbeknownst to them, will have vanished like other promised lands did in the past. Local jails, and an occasional circus will still have a few specimens of the humanoids with pink skin.
