Hello there. I have been trying to research my late grandfather's military activities. I acquired his military records and found he was awarded many medals. I was hoping there is a record of what specific act certain medals were awarded for??

He was awarded the Polish Cross of Valour and the Bronze Cross of merit with swords. I have read the typical reason for getting these, but I am desperate to find out the actual deeds that resulted in these awards??

I hope there is some way to find out!!

Cross of Valor [Krzyż Walecznych] was awarded (well, still is) to those who did a heroic act of bravery. Most of them were awarded for the deeds done in Polish-Soviet war and WWII against Germany. I think it will be very difficult to find his actual deeds, unless he received more than one Cross of Valor then he may be on the list.
