And retrospectively, they would be sure as hell working overtime to make such an alliance work.

Without a doubt. I can imagine a coalition of the Baltic States, Finland, Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia easily - and I suspect such a coalition would have enough force to warn off Russia and Germany. The problem would be in later years - we'd probably see a repeat of WW1 before long.

Oh, so you're saying that "Czechoslovaks", in fact, wanted to defend their country?

Military wanted, politicians not so much.

The only militarily viable coalition would be Poland, Romania and Czechoslovakia, optionally Hungary, the problem is nobody in said coalition liked each other enough to do business with.

Yugoslavia was militarily worthless, it had numerically a huge military but the actuall usefull force was less than 100.000 soldiers.

Yes i think that the said countries would most definitely think twice about invading. And having such or similar coalition in the first place, would have done a lot more to spur the French And British to perhaps be a bit more proactive as well.

Yes, however so many borders have changed and so many people moved and irredentism has become so discredited that the only sense of a territory in Europe 'belonging' somewhere is a matter for current residents' wishes, regardless of any nationality or historical issues.

in the end we are all one people Slavic

Nonsense and trolling.

And?

Culturally, Poland and Serbia have little in common. There's much more in common with Poland and Croatia.

The point is that different Slavic people are related to each other they are just sub groups who make up Slavic people

If you directly ask me if I'm Slavic I will obviously say yes, but to be honest it doesn't mean much to me and I never think of myself "oh, I'm Slavic". I'm Polish, and then I'm European. And really, most Polish people think that way. I really don't have much in commmon with Russians or with Serbs.

Dear Alexmac,

It seems to be so important for you that certain nations in Europe share a Slavic heritage, but in doing so you forget that there are many more things that differ between the Slavic people.

Religion for instance is a very important part, then there are different histories, also different neighbour states are very important whose influences must not be underestimated, then there is a different folk culture and psychology. Russians and Poles may have a similar language but their way of looking at the world could hardly be more different. It appears to me that you are a Russian nationalist that looks for another way to construct a new empire but those days are definitely over!

And I surely don't judge nations or people by the fact if the language we speak share a common ancestor or if thirty or fourty generations before we had a common progenitor. This way of thinking belongs to the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. After the horrible catastrophy the Nazis put Europe in this way of thinking should be obsolete.

I am polish born in poland. Religion is nothing because its a choice and people change views like the wind changes direction.
Way of thinking is NOT genetic.

I am looking forward to watching the euro union collapse.... When It does you will think ' damn that crazy (so called) Russian was right. Germanic and Latin Europe will not care about Poland because in the big picture poland is just Poland.... The former government who sadly died in the airplane crash realised this that's why the EU killed them they were changing their minds about being a pawn state for the western illuminati.

Kindly do not ever again claim to be Polish: no Pole would ever make such an incredibly stupid statement.

Oh yeah, and that's exactly why there are so many religious wars even between very similar nations!

The former government who sadly died in the airplane crash realised this that's why the EU killed them they were changing their minds about being a pawn state for the western illuminati.

The former president who died in the plane accident was very anti-Russia, and pro-USA, so he certainly wouldn't approve of any union with Russia.

The president doesn't have that much decision power and the government at that time was already PO, so clearly you've got no idea what you're talking about.

And what klilled them was bravado and negligence, not any EU state, nor Russia.

there may be big surprises for you as to what actually happened in Smolensk - one 'established truth' has already been ruled out - that it was general Blasik who read out altimeter - there are also interesting hints by the Jak 40 crew about conversations between the cockpit and the Smoleńsk 'tower' - which may well be recorded on the Jak 40 black box and are currently being examined in Kraków

You got a source for that? And sorry but Radio Maryja and the like do not count.

There is no evidence that the gene . Błasik was in the cockpit at the time of the crash , but there is no evidence that he was not there - says the military prosecutor's office , which revealed the latest expert black boxes Tu- 154

- This report did not result in any changes to the existing assumptions of the investigation - said Col. Ireneusz Szelag , head of the Military Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.

Military investigators investigating the crash of the presidential plane on April 10, 2010 . Presented the results of the Cracow Institute of Forensic them . Professor . Jan Sehn . The experts from Krakow studied record the last 38 minutes of the tragic flight of the Polish delegation , culminating in the disaster at Severny airport in Smolensk. The result of their work brings the third version of who and what he said just before the crash.

Those sources say that the experts did not identify the voice reading the altimeter. How does that "rule out" that it was Blasiak? Oh, sorry it doesn't. And strange how the people who want to cover up for the General are, er, military prosecutors. No dog in the fight for them, eh?

I note that yet again you can't stick to the facts and instead make personal comments. Perhaps you know your case is so weak that your best shot is to try and start a personal argument. That's fairly pathetic of you.

He's probably another Serb. Same difference.

If this is true then he should have learned from the recent collapse of the panslavist Yugoslav state that the idea of Panslavism 2.0 is not a very good one. If Croats, Bosnians, Serbs and Montenegrins, who virtually speak the same language, can't live in one state then why should Poles, Russians, Bulgarians, Serbs and all other Slavic nations should do?

By the way... what is with the many Non-Slavic nations that live in Russia? Alexmag, if a new pan-slavist State is your goal then shouldn't Russia return all non-slavic territories in Siberia and in the North Caucasus to their rightful owners, that lived there centuries if not milleniums before the first Slav entered their homelands, the same way as Serbia had to give up control over Kosovo?

It has been ruled out? ROFL! Even the source you provide is titled "To nie był głos Błasika?", i.e. "It was not the voice of Blasik?" You really think that a question is a definitive statement?

if you don't know what Instytut Ekspertyz Sądowych means then you sure have to assume that it was the military who defend their own, don't you

And who is bringing us these 'facts'? The military. The same organisation which very much appears to have been responsible for the deaths of all on that plane. Clearly they will be utterly impartial.

read the article and not just the title Harry - I believe you can read, can't you?

there has been so many lies about the catastrophe before you must be still believing in many of them Harry - like that the crew approached landing 4 times
