Polish-Moroccan mutual relations

I mentioned that in another thread but ONCE AGAIN I would like to express
my respect to the honour and bravery of the Moroccan delegation who flew their
small Falcon 50 at low attitude, below the dust cloud and landed, yesterday
at 5pm in Kraków.

Moroccan Falcon 50:

They put to shame many of the delegations who used the dust cloud as a convenient
excuse not to attend the funeral of late Polish president Lech Kaczyński.

It has to, and I mean HAS TO be taken into account by Polish politicians and businessmen.
I'd like to see more co-operation between Poland and Morocco in the future and more
Polish companies investing there and strenthening the ties between our countries.

As for me - I already know where I will go for my next holidays.

LONG LIVE POLISH-MOROCCAN FRIENDSHIP AND CO-OPERATION!

Sounds like fun! Thanks for the information, Krakowiak. In which language did you
communicate with the locals? I speak French but I'm afraid my kowledge of Berber
and Arabic is quite basic.

I'm going there for sure - I have to see the country that produces such brave
and honourable people.

Did anyone read a good book about Morocco - it's people and history?

I'd be grateful for the recommendation.

Thanks again to our Moroccan friends! Brave, honourable people!

I'm afraid not everybody will understand that joke, Seanus ;)

Oh come on Torq, pls.

Yeah, Moroccans are very friendly. Especially if you're European. They will try to use you as a vehicle to emigrate.

I would love to see Poland strenghtening ties with Morocco. After all, Poland is the only country that hasn¡t been culturally enriched by them.

Poles will :)

I am not sure about that either.

Poland loves Morocco too!

What's with the "brotherly love" thing and all? I know you're a bit emotional currently, but hey, the heat of the moment will die down sooner than you think and then what? Are Moroccans again just some filthy, lazy, Islamic North Africans?

>^..^<

No, they're honourable, brave and kind-hearted people forever! They are an asset
to the humanity and their religion. Long live Morocco! Long live Polish-Moroccan
friendship!

I am afraid that many of your fellow countrymen will not share that view once the heat has died down.

M-G (friendship between PL and MA is good, but it won't last, I'm pretty sure of that)

Interesting :) Oh, well - I guess that precision is often always lacking in our posts.

Well, I know a couple of teachers who lived in Poland, then went on to work in Casablanca. They enjoyed their stay initially but found unstable elements and suspicion amongst some people there. You get that everywhere but it is of a specific type.

In fairness now, Morocco, Russia and Ukraine are all in a different direction to the ash.

I don't know, Sean - the photo you posted is from 15th April.
Moroccan delegation flew in yesterday and the press wrote
that they flew on a low attitude specifically to avoid the ash.

See Torq, and this is something that you support? This is exactly the stupid risk taking that leads people to die in aviation. I'm guessing you'd be in the "pilot was a coward" camp had he diverted and missed the Katyn ceremony.

There was no ash below 5000 metres - so they flew on that altitude. Where's risk in that?

I'm guessing you'd be in the "pilot was a coward" camp had he diverted and missed the Katyn ceremony.

You're guessing wrongly.

What happens if you hit IMC, you can't get on top of it... What happens if you do hit ash? It does eventually come down.

You're guessing wrongly.

So you would have been in the "at least the pilot was safe" camp?

Okay, well then look at the map of Europe, there's Iceland and Morocco.

So you would have been in the "at least the pilot was safe" camp?

Yes, I would have been in the "at least the pilot was safe" camp, because fog on the
ground and lack of proper instruments on the airfield is much less safer than some cloud
of ash which was for most of the time yesterday on the altitude of 10-12 kilometres
(upper limit) 6.1 kilometre (lower limit), so flying on the altitude of 5 kilometres was
completely safe.

I have a question, when Wałensa dies will there be so much media and world attention?

I think there'll be world attention but I am not sure if Poland will feel the same.

I suppose it also depends on how he dies, in his bed of old age or in a plane going to Russia to commemorate a massacre.

For some reason in Germany the restriction is 10,000 ft....

Okay, well then look at the map of Europe, there's Iceland and Morocco.

Wow! Thanks for the map, Sean.

I can see France on that map - they didn't make it. I can also see Netherlands,
they made it (as opposed to Belgium who couldn't because of the ash).
We can learn many interesting things just by looking on the map. Azerbadijan
made it, but Denmark couldn't make such a dangerous trip - yeah, we should
just look on the map :)

And on a side note, do you think the King would have flown?

Are you saying the King was just trying to get rid of the Prime Minister in such way? :)

Is it possible to see volcanic ash ? I've just been talking to someone in the Netherlands who said they have clear skies. We have clear sky here too.

The weather map does not measure up with the reality of what i and others can see.

just an observation.

some countries are willing to take more risk then others and I would never blame other countries for not flying into Poland if they were afraid that that in any way would increase the risk of the crash.

Clear skies south of Krakow.

The Map

I can also see Austria on the map - they didn't make it.
And there is Hungary on the map - they made it.

Thanks again for posting that map, Sean - educating indeed :)

I would never blame other countries for not flying into Poland if they were afraid

Who's blaming them? I'm just saying they have no balls and/or don't give a toss about relations with Poland ;)
