Any meaningful differences between Sunni and Shia

Only one; the Sunni are much better at playing "rock-paper-scissor" than the Shia - beat 'em every time.

Let me answer the Bosniak...He is probably unaware of the fact that the Dayton Agreement was negotiated by Richard Holbrooke, Zionist Khazar, who is also a Rothschild inlaw...Holbrooke also runs the Afghan War for Obama, because the Rothschilds want to build a pipeline through there...The whole Bosnian and Kosovo deal was to keep the Slavs in the Balkans fragmented...The Rothschilds have now moved in big time to 'buy up' the Balkans, along with Khazar Soros (Schwartz).

Yeah, because Moses and Yeshua were sick maniacs who called themselves prophets but didn't work miracles, but killed people instead and raped their women,

When you joined this forum, you said you were Jewish and were not allowed to wear your kippa outdoors where you live in Germany, which would mean you follow Judaism, but your neighbourhood is not Jewish friendly.

A rather strange statement about Moses then, and even stranger one about prophets. Are you lying to us?

I don't like Polish hatred towards Jews (actually, must Poles don't hate). I also don't like Jewish hatred toward Poles. I really think it's terrible and very unfair.

You cut off his post and completely missed his meaning :)

Yeah, because Moses and Yeshua were sick maniacs who called themselves prophets but didn't work miracles, but killed people instead and raped their women, like Mo-ham-head did, right?

He meant they did not do that sort of thing, but the other guy M********* did.

I hate it when some Poles give the rest of us an image of an intolerant nation. I always get a feeling like the only way of countering it would be becoming a philosemite but that would be just silly...

I agree. I don't like those Poles. Indeed, it would be silly to be a philosemite just to counteract it, but you're right - it sometimes seems the only way.

I must also say that I equally dislike the Jewish hatred for the Poles. Now, not all Jews hate Poles. However, there are some who do. Why? What can we do about that?

Jews don't hate Poles, but a lot of Jews assume that Poles hate us so they relate to Poles in that way. It's a reaction.

What can we do about that?

Hug a Jew.

They do? Is it really a common assumption in Israel? Why is that?

Hug a Jew.

But there aren't any in my home town :-( (as far as I know anyway).

I'll try to find one on February 2nd though - if I fail I will give you a virtual hug, OK? ;-)

That appears to be true, but I'm on to him for excessive offensiveness and unfamiliarity with who is who to whom. He could have come out of his Turkish bath and corrected me himself.

First of all let me clarify one thing - people in Israel don't normally go around talking about Poles at the breakfast table. There are more pressing matters going on here. But if you ask someone about Poles, they still think in terms of the 1930s and they'll say, "yeah, they hate us." That's because they've never been on the Polish Forum so they don't know any better.

If any of you on this forum were ever in Israel as tourists or on business, I'd like to know how people treated you. My guess is that they'd be friendly to Polish tourists because they would assume anyone visiting Israel is a friend.

What about Germans? Fair point about it not being the most pressing matter for Israelis now but I am just curious.

My guess is that they'd be friendly to Polish tourists because they would assume anyone visiting Israel is a friend.

And a Jew?

Obviously many Christians would like to go to Jerusalem but I was just wondering would there be an assumption about their religion?
yehudi  1 | 433

No.
Why would they think they are Jewish? It's very rare to see a Polish Jew in Israel under the age of 70. So a Polish tourist would clearly be non-Jewish, but assumed to be friendly to Israel.

If i saw a young Jewish tourist from Poland (which I never did) I would wonder why he lives there and not here.

Why would they think they are Jewish?

It being Israel that's all, in a similar way you would wonder why a Polish Jew would live here and not there, if you saw a Jewish Polish tourist.

I think most Poles do not hate Jews at all, of course there are always the few simple minded but they do not talk for the nation.

I've been twice and was treated well. Saying that I'm Polish was met with about as much emotion as if I said I came from around the corner. Not being familiar with Warsaw's Jewish community, I couldn't answer questions about it outside of the renewed interest in cultural things which are going on and the large Jewish History museum being built. I don't think anyone cared if I came from the moon as far as nationality. There was something strangely familiar how people butt into others' business in public. Reminded me of here.

They'd be friendly to Polish tourists because they would assume anyone visiting Israel is a friend and a Jew?

That wasn't the case. They saw me as a Polish tourist.

Other people's business? What 's that? Everything is everyone's business.

Polish hatred towards Jews...

no need for hatred, my brotherly Poles

Jews have their path, Poles have their own path. Same as with representatives of any other civilization on this Earth, Poles should cooperate with Jews when it is possible, in mutual interests. Ignore them when they want to take more then it is suitable to Poles. Learn them to respect you. Learn them all

Its simple

Let me explain. When I lived in France and I stood in line, say at a bakery, I was annoyed when a person chated with the seller while making a purchase. The French weren't; they stood patiently and waited their turn. I got used to it after a while and did the same. In Poland, one will get comments right away. Now, I got used to that too, and I "help out" to speed things up. I am using a mild example of butting in.

I know - a lot of Jews ASSUME that Poles hate them. Were does this assumption come from? Why are not the good people (Jews) doing more to fight against that wrong assumption (put out there by the Sheeple)?

Honey, I'd reach right out and hug ya if I could! {{{{KISS}}}}}}

See, I can't help comparing that to Nazi mentality. What I mean is this: look at a group of people (ethnically or whatever) and just hate. Now, if you say, "Well, look at the history and you'll see why" all I can say is to look at the history of the huge numbers of Jews that were saved by the Catholics. Look at the Catholic families who were executed because they attempted to save Jewish lives. If the Jews in Isreal know about the bad Catholics and don't know about the good, something's wrong here. This is what makes me suspicious and this is where we need your help. Who's running the education system in Isreal so that young Isrealis know about the bad Poles, but don't know that huge numbers of Catholics help Jews in the 1930s?

look at the history of the huge numbers of Jews that were saved by the Catholics. Look at the Catholic families who were executed because they attempted to save Jewish lives.

Those facts don't get enough attention.

Additionally, by any objective standard, Poland has been more welcoming to Jews than any other country I'm aware of. That is the reason why so many Jews lived in Polish lands.

Poland wasn't just welcoming to Jews. It was welcoming to Tatar Muslims and Gypsies and others. All of these peoples had their schools, houses of worship, communities, etc. You're right, these facts get no attention.

It isn't a very tactful title, though I notice you haven't suggested an alternative.

For reference, since it's 25 pages ago, here's the original post:

i must say that the level of hatred for Jews displayed on this website is a horrible way to show one's Polish identity. this website conveys the impression that Poles still hate Jews. there is an expression that if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and walks like a duck.... nonetheless, what is being done here is a disgrace to the Republic of Poland

this website conveys the impression that Poles still hate Jews (...)
what is being done here is a disgrace to the Republic of Poland

Which is very unfair, taking into consideration that Poles are a small minority
on this site but, as its name is "PolishForums", readers assume that the views
presented on this board are representative for Poles - they aren't (especially
not for Poles living in Poland - even smaller minority of posters).

*btw - what is that supposed to mean "POLES(?) STILL(?) hate Jews"?*

I don't think I was inclined to, was I?

Anyway, simply calling it "Anti-Semitism" would've been much better.

This a kind of negative stereotype about Jews which is inherited by successive generations in home education process esp in those families whose members were somehow involved in crimes against Jews (mainly by szmalcownictwo). The hate against Jews is strongly correlated with the conspiratorial beliefs, and personal sense that external forces direct our lives and all the social and economical processes...

My point is, Switek, that the sentence "POLES STILL hate Jews" implies that
all, or at least a significant percentage of, Poles hate Jews and that they
hated them also in the past - which is not true.

Anti-semites in Poland were always a sad, small minority of sickf***s despised
by the rest of Polish society (vide szmalcownicy).
