"Actually, there never was any Polish-German hatred"

* polakożerstwo
* Frederick the Great: "a barbarous people sunk in ignorance and stupidity"
* Otto von Bismarck described Poles as animals (wolves), that "one shoots if one can"

No doubt the hate was reciprocated.

As general principal it's really a bad idea to gloss over history.

Actually, there never was any Polish-German hatred

That's gotta be among the most idiotic statements in all of PF.

religions are no problem for me as long as they are not followed as groups.

Your statements are really funny sometimes. If religion has no followers it's just a hobby for a creator :)

If you look at the beginnings of Polish history, there were conflicts, yes, but also settlers on both sides.

Sounds good to me.

At least its a nice gesture for this Easter time of year :)

Relax people, ksysia might be historically inaccurate but his intentions seems to be noble. A good Christian should not be a follower of primitive nationalism. This is not reasonable behaviour, you should not be useful idiots of some political movements raising over and over some historic issues (vide PiS). Neither useful idiots of other political movements which notoriously suggest that if you dare to disagree with policy of current German and Polish states then you are not good European (PO, SLD). Basically this is absolutely possible to hate both states and still have friendly attitude in personal relationship with individual Germans and Poles. By the way , this is often attitude of Poles towards Russia and Russian people.

Happy Easter!

I agree with you lesser.

I don't know about overseas but here in the US, Polish Americans generally like their fellow Slavic Americans including Russian Americans despite tensions between Russia and Poland in the past.

Heck, Polish Americans even generally get along fine with German Americans despite past tensions between Poland and Germany. That's the nice thing about being American I guess. Since Americans of Polish, Russian and German ancestry are proud of being AMERICAN FIRST, they can look at the good and the bad of their ancestral history together in a more level headed manner.

God bless America. And God bless everyone during this Easter season :)

hEY, people

I'm actually seriously serious.
Look, in the times before they rallied with H, Germany was just a bunch of poor countries. German Amahs were used in Polish houses as help with the children. So really, no way to hate them.

After the loss, they rallied their West Germany and had a brilliant success selling Mercedes and BMW.

I think it's good. if they could have a success, so can we.

But the Polish German hatred is a Soviet propaganda scheme to cover their lack of governance.

I mean by that: sure the Soviets had build factories nad given rights to working people, but they managed to **** it all up. So they used Helmuten as a smoke cover.

Which is really rude, since so many people in Poland are mongrels with the Germans, Ukrainians, Jews and even the Russkies.

So let's give up on that.

(Ksysia loves Til Schweiger, but wants an Accura anyway)

Germany was just a bunch of poor countries.

Should have stayed that way.

After the loss,

You do realize that it was Germany that started the war? You make them out to be some kind of victims... lol! Oh poor poor Germany... Yet, you make no mention of the 6+ milions of Poles and Jews murdered?

think it's good. if they could have a success, so can we.

And who is we..? You are nothing but a volskdeutche. You don't deserve to have Polish citizenship. Go move to Germany.

But the Polish German hatred is a Soviet propaganda

Oh....?? How ingenious!

Which is really rude, since so many people in Poland are mongrels with the Germans

German-Polish mongrel... And only a fraction more intelligent than a dog. That's Ksysia.

I'm actually seriously serious.

Then no use sidestepping the issue any longer. You are 100% and utter moron.
Please keep this verbal vomit away from PF. I don't ever want to read another post come from you. You are dilluded, and a sick , sick person. Seek help.

What is better? Getting over with the past and trying to live together, or living in the past forever and being eaten alive by hate?

And actually, if you ask the old people, they say that although today people talk about SS all the time, the majority of Germans in Poland were Wehrmacht, and they were good people, mostly.

I think that when we look back at history in general, we discuss conflicts in terms of the peoples involved rather that the root causes of the conflicts. I was in a class yesterday where we were told that 95% of a problem or issue is over the "what" not the "who" in a situation (this came from a Harvard study of conflict).

I still insist (after 3 years of reading this forum) that hatred is a learned response.
If two peoples are constantly at odds over the "what" eventually it develops into an emotional response to the "who".

Nobody is born hating anybody.

What do you mean about history lessons?

What part of the term 'history lesson' don't you understand? In Poland history is taught in a certain way at school. Germany teaches history in a different way. The USA teaches yet another view of history. All versions can instill hate in kids.

Instead of absorbing the attitudes taught in school, students might better served to be taught how to think independently, and without the baggage smeared across the pages of the history textbooks, ja?
TheOther  6 | 3596
4 Apr 2010 /  #49
Exactly. Teach the kids how to think independently first and wait with history lessons until 12th grade.

or living in the past forever and being eaten alive by hate?

I am not alive with hate. I have contempt for people like Ksysia, who are deluded and have not opened a history book or done the research themselves. She shouldn't have the authority to create such dillusional threads where some idiot might actually come away with the idea that Poles and Germans were friendly during WW2, through trade, interaction, as she put it, and pass this on to someone else. Who knows, they might even mention it at school if they are stupid like her.

But the Polish German hatred is a Soviet propaganda scheme to cover their lack of governance.

You are wrong here. This hatret was due to British policy in the region. Check chronology pre-WWI. Oil was becoming popular and the race was mainly between Britain and Germany as these two were industrialized well enough to understand the future worth of oil. Germans preferred to side with Ottoman family (this is their mistake as old man Ottoman was ill in bed) and with some agreements, Germans built railway from Europe to Baghdat. Britishs had done different ways to stop Germans not to reach the oil wells. One of them was to stir the things in Poland lands of the day (which were in control of Germans anyway during this period.) And, Britain stirred Jews in there in this region against the Germans and this action of Brits was supported (as done always) by Vatican. Christian Poles and Christian Germans too joined this train. Etc etc. Germans-Poles can have serious good relations even today as the relations are not bla bla, but, some concrete things like production, factory, business, etc. But, Britain won't like this collobration as winning Poland means winning Europe today. If I were Poland, I'd play chaotic games like Turkey is doing in the region.

Soviets (initiated by Jewish intellectual socialists) were not under control of Jews anymore, but, were under control of Russia nationalist deep state during the WWII. Soviets (actually Russian nationalists) aimed at to be superpower using socialism concept after they kicked Jews out of socialist Soviets. Socialism started to lose since then.

ah-ha. there's always at least one valuable comment :) thank you.

it's curious for me how the British meddling is covered up, and all hatred poured on Germany, while H was actually Austrian. (to explain to forumers, I'm not saying that there wasn't monstrous things on the Nazi side, I'm saying what am I curious about. You have to let me, or kill freedom of thinking.)

I'm curious about how Britain is always the good guy, while everything is told and done so that Poland cannot have good trade with Germany and Ukraine. Those are big economies, i want to see some financial gain from them - but no. It's BP drilling for oil in Poland, not Poland drilling for gas in Ukraine.

And seriously, Gerries, you could cut us a better deal for the Benz.

So Germans are not responsible for Poland\'s invasion because Hitler was Austrian?Maybe but if you notice Hitler was elected in Germany where he enjoyed immense popularity even among his enemies and not in Austria which he incorporated forcibly into the Reich.

You think Germany was deprived of Fuhrers at that time?Or that Germans chose blind? They knew what they voted for and applauded his plans.

I'm curious about how Britain is always the good guy

Secret is in being invisible. Britain have been invisible in games (appreciatable tactic) for a century or two, especially since the future worth of oil was understood by them last century. Key is in their games pre-WarI. They supported the both Arabs (to collapse Ottomans so that they could control oil wells in Arab lands) and Jews by promising them Israel (to keep Arabs in control later after their independence from Ottomans.) If Germans collobrated with Arabs during this period, winner of WW1 would be Germans. But, they sided with Ottomans. Poor tactic as Ottomans were in decline. Brits, by supporting Jews during WWI by promising Israel even then may show you Brits also played with Jews in Poland (or Germany interior affairs.) Brits have been good guy cause their good games (on Arabs to collapse Ottomans and Jews) were appreciated by Vatican and other churches and, they have stayed invisible to hide their real target, the oil. But, nobody can stay invisible for a long period once they reach the target. So, Britain is very visible now.

Star of Britain shined after the oil.
