Earlier I was trying to find information about my grandfathers birthplace from his birth certificate. With the good information some posters sent and a little bit of detective work the village name looks to be Wołoszczyzną. Although it's not on any current maps, it was a
operating village near £ancut. If anyone has any information on the village or sources to any pictures, the information would be greatly appreciated.
£ancut is in the very SE corner of PL so if it was a village then it may very well be in today's Ukraine. also see: ukraine.com/forums/genealogy/12738-bodnar-family-woloszczyna.html
The village in the Ukraine called Wołoszczyzną is near Lviv. The village my grandfather was born in was in the area of £ancut. £ancut appears on the birth certificate as the administrative seat.
In 1894 and the area was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It could be the Administrative seat was £ancut at the time, but that's over a distance of 150 miles.
