Search for a persons in Australia

Searching for a Polish male or his descendants who possibly arrived in Australia in 1948 or thereabouts. He may have initially been placed at Bonegilla Migrant Camp and did work in or visit Holbrook in southern NSW certainly around September 1949. I do not know your name but you knew a Biruta Grantovska from Latvia who was aged 23y at that time, she was a Nurse employed at Holbrook Private Hospital after being placed there from Bonegilla.

you may have been aged around 25y to 40 y at that time although I am not completely sure of this.

Merged: Does anybody know Janusz from St Kilda East?

Hi,

I am looking for Janus from St Kilda East. I don't know his surname. I knew him many years ago and ran into him about 2 years ago again. He gave me his address and number and I lost it. I have tried to locate him, remembering what I could about the address written on the paper I had lost, but this was not successful.

He plays classical guitar, loves Bach and plays chess (he did when I knew him). He is about 50 now and has been in Australia for at least 20 years.

I would really like to contact Janus. If you know him or anyone who may know him please let me know here. If you have any ideas about how I could go about finding this person please let me know.

I thought to do that but as far as I remember he spelled his name Janus. Maybe an anglicised version?

It's likely the surname 'Grantovski' has subsequently changed to 'Grantowski' (w instead of v). The formal Polish version of the name cannot have 'v' in it. In result, I'd suggest to search the both variations (the latter one, especially, brings some results when you include 'Australia' in your search).
