Verleo? Looking for a location of old family member's town - it may no longer be part of Poland

Hello, I am doing research on my family. I found the old village (which was renamed) where my great grandmother was from, but having issues trying to find my great grandfather's village. On the paperwork, it is listed as Verleo back in 1903. I have no doubt that this is a misspelling and may be a village that is no longer part of Poland. Can anyone help me?

There's no 'v' in the Polish alphabet so it can't be Polish. Is it possible that she was born in another country?
Is 'Verleo' typed or handwritten?

The only place that comes to my mind and sounds similar is Wejherowo but that's a town.

I don't know. I was told he was born in Poland. The handwriting is hard to distinguish. It was typed Verleo....but the V could be a P in the handwriting. It is definitely 6 letters. It looks like it ends in 'leo.'

How about posting a pic of the handwriting?
I can't promise anything but someone may be able to decipher it. Although, the old handwriting might be tough.
