Victor Walanto born 1859 Ropa, Gorlice, Poland Baptised August 24, 1859 - He moved to America age 18.
His parents were:
Thomas Walanto and his mother was Marianna Piechowicz.
Marianna's parents were Joannis Piechowicz 1790-1846 and Constantia Sintowa, 1795-1841. It says Sintowa on their marriage record and Lidowska on Victor's baptismal record.

I am looking for more information about Constantia's family. I heard her father's name was Sebastianus Sinta and her mother's name was Theresia. Thank you.

Merged: Searching for Family Dudicz/Laboyska/Malushovich from Galicia, city of Gorlice and village of Bielan

I'm searching for my great grandmothers family. She came to the US between 1909-1912. Her name was Efrosina Dudicz born in 1895 or 1898. Her mothers name was Martha Laboyska, she has her father listed as John.

Her sisters name was Eva and stayed behind with the rest of the family.
She later married (in the US) a man from the same village by the name of Mikhail Malushovich.

If anyone has any information on any of the above families it would be appreciated. my email is danaerichards@hotmail

DUDYCZ: From duda (bagpipe); a bagpiper might might have been nicknamed duda and when he fathered a son -- instant Dudycz (Ukrainian influrence visible)..

LABOJSKI, £ABOJSKI(?): Nothing with that spelling. Maybe it was something like £abosiński or Labiński from the word laba (loafing, laying about, being idle).

MA£USZOWICZ: Two hypotheses: 1) someone named Małomir had the pet name of Małusz, When he fathered a son, the offspring got called Małuszowicz; 2) Someone from the village of Małuszów was called Małusz by outsiders, When he fathered a son, the newborn got dubbed Małuszowicz.
