Hello,

Please kindly can someone assist me?

I am needing to find some records for my Great- Grandmother who was born and lived in Poland (i have the birth certificate copy) before traveling to a Polish Refugee Settlement in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in what i think was 1943.

I am needing retrace my great-grandmother's journey since she left Poland (ship entries/logs, stubs.. anything) OR any other information/records such as her last address in Poland, school records, information on her parents etc.

Can anyone possibly be able to help me? I have her birth certificate only , and records from the refugee camp, but it doesn't state when/how she left/arrived, or any other family (other than my grandmother who was born in the settlement), or history.. nothing. I want to get more proof other than her birth certificate to claim her being polish history.. if you can genuinely help pls email me: cedar_hill at hotmail.co.uk

thank you! Amanda

I once met a Polish lady named Ala short for Alicja i think in South Africa, she initially started life in Rhodesia after escaping the war. She ended up running a game park with her husband.
