It could be Silesian. I know many Silesians with the last name Zapeta, Zaplet or so.

To the ADMIN.

A person namef Oleg was trying to connect with other PF members who's last name is Sapeta. He speaks Russian and basic German only. Within minutes of him posting his original message here I translated it to English for the other Sapetas on this thread. So what did you do? You removed both his message AND my English translation to the random file. A thread so illogical and disorganized few people ever read it. Certainly no Sapetas will venture out there to look for possible deletions.

What you did is simply rude! A person is trying to connect but you shut him down because he speaks no English. That's ok I guess but when someone volunteers to translate his message and you throw it away - well that's just obnoxiously rude and very unwelcoming for a web site that's suppose to encourage cultural exchanges. Pretty sad admin...

I also translated a Polish note and I'd imagine you'll remove Aurelia's and my posts too. Very disappointing.

The language of the forum is English. Therefore, out with the language section posts should be made in English. I can't imagine why someone who only speaks Russian and German would even try to post here, there are numerous other forums/sites out there in those languages that could potentially help Oleg. Most likely his posting here was through a Google search of the name which produced this thread and his post was made with no consideration to the language of the forum. Or consideration of whether people reading his post could understand it.

A ja jestem Aurelia mieszkam w opolu,z tego co wiem wszystko zaczelo sie w radziechowach kolo zywca.jak chcesz mozemy pogadać.podaje gg 15906363

From Polish to English - for all you Polish-challenged Sapetas. ;)

"and I am Aurelia (Sapeta?), I live in Opole, from what I know it all started in Radziechowach near Żywce. If you want we can talk. My GG (gady gady) is 15906363.

(not sure where those cities are)

Where did Aurelia post that originally?

I understand the language of this forum is English but if a person doesn't speak it but still tries to connect is that so wrong? Being from Russia he could've even been related to a Polish family exiled to Russia way back when. Now he tries to connect, writes a message in German and Russian (all he knows) - I translate it to ENGLISH within minutes of him posting but it's still not good enough for you?

Really?

Here's the message you exiled to RT, was it really that wrong of him to try???

Meine Name ist auch Sapeta Oleg бшср bin geboren im Russland, wohne etzt im Deutschland................trawers2006rambler.ru

Вся моя семья и родственики из россии в польше на сколько знаю родствеников нет......

Just a basic translation on Oleg's behalf:

From German: My name is also Sapeta Oleg, I was born in Russia and today I live in Germany (followed by his incomplete email address? At (or @) is missing there somewhere).

From Russian: All my family and relatives from Russia (are?) in Poland, don't know how many relatives exist.

Not sure if I translated the Russian part correctly?"
-------

Also, did you get my PM? - I got an error message. So here it is:

My post # 37 in My last name is Sapeta was directed to you and all the mods.

The blind deletion (random thread is virtual deletion - no one reads that thread - illogical and unorganized) is very insulting. Do the mods even read the comments or do they just throw it away simply because it's not in English?

Let others help to translate when it makes sense - otherwise it's just an arbitrary English language apartheid here on PF. Not very welcoming to those who speak poor if any English for sure. That's sad and unbecoming to the Polish culture. What happened to the "extra plate" on the table for the unknown guest?

It's an old Polish tradition and maybe you should incorporate inclusivness into the PF a little more...

She posted it right here on THIS thread. Again, within minutes it was translates to ENGLISH.

Yes you got the error message because Oleg only made one contribution to the forum (surprise, surprise).

English is the language. If he wanted help in Russian or German he would have got it from those language using web sites. As was said before his posting here would be from a random Google search. You can look yourself to see where else he might have posted.

Aurelia - still can't find it either here or in Random.

Error message? If you mean error message when I was trying to send a PM it had nothing to do with it. My internet connection timed out (was in a coffee shop while posting from lap top).

Of course he only made one contribution. He probably typed his own name in the google search and found this site. That's GREAT and you should be excited people from all over the world are finding this site instead of being paranoid.

Again, reading his post it's very obvious the guy simply wanted to hear more from people with his last name. You make him out to be some kind of freak.

When I posted a message in English on lotnictwo.net.pl in English because my question was "too complicated" for my limited Polish someone immediately translated it to Polish. It was NOT deleted, neither was I made out to be some kind of freak because I couldn't speak Polish well enough. Instead they viewed me as someone they had a bond with and helped me out.

This is no different. This person somehow shares a bond with people many think is a Polish last name. He does NOT speak English but someone (me) helped him to translate his message to English - not days later but minutes after he posted. Even that wasn't good enough for you - that's just ignorant and paranoid - you view everyone who does not speak English here as a fraudulent poster -don't even bother trying to read the guy's message.

There's a thread about racism in Poland. YOU (whoever removed my translation) are exhibiting those traits right now although ironically it's because the person does not speak English - on a Polish forum. Go figure...

Aurelia - still can't find it either here or in Random.

Well, right after I translated Oleg's post I "quoted" Aurelia's post to do the same. As soon as I clicked "Post Message" her original post was gone.

Your "delete" staff is fast, what can I tell you?

Have no idea where her original post ended up but it was definitely here a first. Oleg's post first then her (that's why I quoted her on post #37 - to translate).

--------------

Anyways - back to Sapetas of the world. Just write in English for God's sake or you'll go straight to hell (= Random Thread here)

Nah it was probably to do with lack of posts from Oleg. Someone tried to PM when I only made one post and they were given error message. Stop trying to be a hero to someone who will post here once. Forum rules say English and everyone else gets that. You're just tying to cause trouble and in doing that you're deflecting from the people who want to know about Sapeta surname.

Where is Aurelia? Can't see her post please a link. Ta much. :)

ah it was probably to do with lack of posts from Oleg.

Again, I was trying to send a PM to the admin NOT Oleg. That's why in a post titled "To the admin" I asked "By the way, did you (admin) get my PM?"

I've sent PM to admin before so I know it works fine. This time I clicked send and got an error message. Seconds later I noticed I no longer was connected to the internet. No confusion there. In fact disregard that part - that's not what my post was about.

Apologies. You must hate when us tech types don't get what you're simply wanting quick enough. On that note - still looking for the one from Aurelia to help with.

No problem and I'm a techie myself. ;)

All that's left of her post is me quoting her (#37) at the bottom of that reply to admin. The posts were removed so quickly that I included my message to the admin within my original post translating her original message (edit function). In other words it took less than 15 minutes from me posting the translation to her original post disappearing.

However, it's not about Oleg or Aurelia. It's about the fact some people trying to connect with others online are instantanously blocked here if they struggle with English EVEN if someone translates their original post. Sad and very contrary to everything I've ever learned about the "Polska Gościnność".

What? Aurelia's post is not even on PF. If it was I would have helped myself.

What is your issue? This is an English language site. That's not hard to understand so all I can see is you hampering people who really want to find out about Sapeta.

Not sure if you're stirring this up or really confused on what I'm saying? That's my point, her post was not even moved to the RT - it just "disappeared" and all that's left is me quoting her. Get it? But no, things don't ever ever get deleted here, right?

What is your issue? This is an English language site. That's not hard to understand so all I can see is you hampering people who really want to fond out about Sampera.

No you are missing my point. I already said I know it is an English site. However if a person doesn't speak it and someone else translates the post for him in English thenit is still in English isn't it???

This is my translation of Oleg's post which was moved to the Random Thread (#2479). It IS in English since I translated it so what was the problem?

You're saying I'm stirring but I've been here and not seen post you claim you've seen. All I know is you're not helping people at all. Let those who seek Russian translations do it on appropriate sites. Leave PF to the PL/Eng.

You just contradicted yourself. The post WAS PL or in Polish - get it????

You're losing the thread! We're interested in Sapeta genealogy not technical hitches. My dad was Mieczyslaw Sapeta (born January 1914 Krakow, died July 1978 UK) and I'd love to know if I've any aunts, uncles, cousins who still in Krakow/Poland.

Ana Sapeta
Hello Ana Sapeta, in fact i know some one with the same name as your's, and it's surprising but the true is that i can see in her a fusion between a realy beautifull portuguese and some polish features like her clean and white skin and a big need of saving money, that is the basic rule of the jews but well this is just expeculation, but i would like to meet you in the way to confirm if my suspicious are right or wrong.
