Last name Mesje

My grandfather's name is Charles Mesje...Is there a connection to that last name in Poland...when I go onto SKYPE the name comes up mostly in Poland...He would of come to the USA early 1900's.

sorry it took so long to write back...my grandfather was supposed to come from Austria...early 1900's...grandmother also came from Austria...Louise (Gorza or Jorza)...also came from Austria about the same time

MESJE: perhaps derived from the Hebrew name Meshullam or Messiah (in Polish: Mesjasz).

Mesje could also come from last name MOSIEJ

That cannot be ruled out. Mosiej, Mosiek and similar are dervied from Moses (Mojżesz)
