Kaletnik suwalki question

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if the church, synangogue records or public records of the years 1880- 1915 from Kaletnik (Suwalki area) are available?
If so, how does one go about accessing these records?

Thanks,

Chesspass

Hi.
The best and most efficient way is to hire a genealogist or go to the parish yourself and ask for those data. First you should contact them by mail or phone. Most cases they rather give those information if they have anything.

Or at least they will if the person one is asking about is a member of one's family.

I believe that if records are 100 years or older, they are supposed to be in the National Archives in Warsaw, "the State Archives".

um.suwalki.pl/page_en.php?id=740

Try contacting someone at the town office.

You can also try here.

archiwa.gov.pl/en/state-archives/384-tasks-of-polish-archives.html

Or the National Archives in Warsaw.

All sites have the option to read in English, look for the British flag icon.

You will have to pay for the records, I don't know how much they are but they aren't expensive, really.

Good luck!
