Jucewicz - Crest from my Polish ancestry

Newbie here.
I have been researching my Polish ancestry that descended from the Jucewicz family. From what i can work out they were Nobel's in what is now Lithuania. I think i have found the family crest (in two versions attached). Dues anybody know if the cross on this crest is related to the Jagiellonian Cross?

If you have managed to trace your ancestors, you should be able to find out easily which family crest they used.
Now the sensitive part is whether your ancestors were really a noble family or simply shared a surname with a noble family. In the previous case just trace your ancestors, their vital records etc and you should be able to find out their family crest.

I am in Australia so trying to translate Russian, Polish and Lithuanian is intense work. I have, with the help of some others, found Court records from the 1863 Insurrection stating that they were from a Nobel family. I dont think they would make that up in Court? They were sent to Siberia.

I am having trouble finding birth records in the RC churches. I would love to go back further in time but without more birth details this may be impossible...

There are actually more than two possible crests. As I understand it, the crest belongs not to the family but to the clan to which the family belonged (which may or may not be related by blood).. So depending on which clan your Jucewicz family belonged to they might have used any of the crests pictured in the link below. Unlike England, there was no Heraldic office/authority responsible for issuing arms, recording the crests and controlling the appearance of heraldry, therefore families often adapted clan crests to slightly alter their appearance and customize them for their own family, so that makes it even more complicated!

So to know which crest your family used, you'd need to know to which clan they belonged.

Perhaps you'll be able to find your ancestors here. Litwa is Lithuania so you may start there. Not all records are available there but you might be lucky. Sometimes you may be even able to see a scan of the original document.

As Atch said, you need to have more information to find out the family crest.

Excellent site- i found another four generations on my grandmother side (Polish). Still not much on Jucewicz, i probably need to find a good Litwa site.

Perhaps I should try again to see if they update their data.
BTW, to all of you, another great source of information is szukajwarchiwach.pl and straty.pl (information about Polish victims of the Third Reich). However, in both cases the data is not complete.
