First: Please accept my apologies for not using Polish. I took a Polish class at the University of Minnesota this past fall and I found it extremely difficult. I audited it - I someday hope I can do the language justice.

I am attempting to do some geneology on my Dziadziu and Babcia's families. The names as they are spelled today are the Jasnocha and Saletnick respectively.

Dziadziu Alfred Ladislaw Jasnocha was born 20 May 1911 in Yonkers, New York to John Jasnocha (1865-1943) and Helena Kozik (1878-1943) They were married in Manhatten, NY - The marriage record indicated John was born in Brzozorvo Poland - Looking for the Lastname of 'Jasnocha' it indicated a concentration of names in the Tarnow region - Would there be any relatives or decendants of the family. I am not certain when he would have emigrated other than his marriage to Helena was 23 May 1896. Their first child was born in 1898. John's parents were Anthony Jasnocha and Mary Winiarska...

Genevieve Saletnik was born 14 Oct 1914 to Joseph Saletnik (1866-1941) and Katie Wrobel(1879-1941) in Ware, MA. I have seen; but do not have the immigration papers of Joseph indicating he was from Galacia province in Tonee

If there is anyone that can help me with the geneology or are distant relatives of these individuals - I would hope we could be in contact. Dziekuje.

I must add / if you are interested in viewing the family linkage I am registered under ancestry.com with the history of Hogan/Olson - Jasnocha Family Tree.

JASNOCHA: root-word jasny (fair-haired, brigth, light); probably nick for a fair-haired, light-complected person
SALETNIK: variant of Sałatnik, root-word sałata (lettuce, greens); eater or producer of lettuce.
WINIARSKI: patronymic for the vintner's son (syn winiarza) or topo nick from Winiary.
KOZIK: a small sharp butcher's knife for skinning animals, also once used by barber-surgeons.
WRÓBEL: sparrow; probably topo nick from Wróblewo and similar.

hi
I have read with great excitement your enquiries about the jasnocha/kozik families. My father was joseph jasnocha, married to zosia kozik from brzozowa. They settled in England after the second world war. I live in australia but have contact with the family in Brzozowa.

Hi, maybe I can help...
John Jelski or Jasnocha is my 2nd great grandfather

according to records I have found, he and Helena Kozik had...

Anthony, Viola Kosi, Agnes, Stanley Frank, Alfred Ladislaus, Mary, Joseph C., Alexander, Emelia Sterana (my great granmother) and Irean

I have found some of their descendants too if you need more.

I'm looking for John & Helena siblings and ancestors. So far I have...

Johns parents as Anthony Jasnocha & Mary Winiarsk
Helena's parents as Franciscus Kozik & Marianna Lewandowski
and those are only by best guesses.

Could we be related?

Let me kow if you know or need anything else.

Hi My grandfather was Joseph Carl Jasnocha, brother to your grandfather. I just began this ancestory.com and it really is cool. I grew up in Ware and my maiden name is Bish, Susan Bish Norman.

I am interested in anything you find also!

Hi Folks. I believe Katie Wrobel came to the US in 1898 as the wife of Paul Wrobel. I do not believe they are directly related to me, but may have come Kupienen as did my Great-Grand parents and grandfather. They all lived on Water St in Ware, Ma (Now Pulaski St.) I find a Paulus Wrobel born in the Kupienen area in 1869 which matches Paul Wrobel birth year in the 1900 census data.
