Information on the Pikul or Trzaskos family

Looking for any information on the Pikul and/or Trzaskos Families. Families migrated to New York in the late 1800-early 1900's. My be from Lipinki or Galicia.

PIKUL: possibly from pikul (small slanted window in a larder) or pikula (trifle) -- both from the Italian word for small piccolo.

TRZASKOS: probably topo from Trzaski (root-word trzask suggests a loud noise: slam. bang, crash, etc.)

Thanks. Any suggestions to find where the families came from? we started Ancestry.com and found some, but no real location for finding family members that might still be around in Poland.

TRZASKOS: only 2 users, 1 each in SE Poland's Krosno and Nowy Sącz areas (Góral country).

PIKUL: some 1900 users, the most in SE Poland's Tarnów and Lublin areas.

Stanislaw where are the Pikul's found in Poland? We will be in Krakow in late August and would like to meet family if possible. My grandfather Pikul came from Galicia , Wies Sloboda. I don't know where these places are or if I have them correct. Thanks. Dave
