Zywiec kegs for wedding in warsaw - where to get?

hi ,
wondering if anybody can help me? . Im looking to get a couple of zywiec kegs for a wedding in April. I live overseas and am struggling to find anybody that can supply me with this in Warsaw area . Can someone shine some light on this for me ,please and thanks .

Our vodka and wine supplier doesn't do beer in keg form ,just bottles but we would prefer to get beer in kegs .
possible 20 litre kegs maybe 8 or 10 of them ....

You have to contact the brewery direct, set up an account and they will deliver along with pump. If you know someone that already have an account with Zywiec they may be able to arrange it for you.

Can I ask why you specifically want Zywiec? It's really not a good beer. It's even the worst beer made by the company who make it (Grupa Zywiec). Have you checked out Browar Konstancin? It's a small brewery from 15km south of Warsaw and makes some cracking beer. Alternatively, I'm pretty sure that I can get the number of a Warsaw supplier of Perla. I can certainly ask about Zywiec but the people I know who have it in their bars have no good things at all to say about their suppliers.

Perla is another great beer, one of my favorites even though I would never admit it to JVK.

You been to Brooklyn Burgers and Wings on Nowy Swiat? They have Perla on tap (or at least I'm reliably informed they do, I'm planning a first trip there myself tomorrow).

Ciechan is another superb regional beer that the OP might want to consider but they have supply issues (i.e. can't make enough for the demand).

If the OP really wants a Grupa Zywiec product, he'd do well to consider Krolewski: it's Warsaw's own beer (although no longer made here) and is a far far superior brew to Zywiece, as well as being cheaper.

Not yet H, I am on lent, so no beer for me until the end of the month.


My wife's uncle is one of the original creators of Krolewski, he was the brewmaster at the brewery in Warsaw, Ochota for many years.


Next time you are in Krk I would recommend the burgers at: facebook.com/moaburger. Its a dry house so food and soft drinks only.

Thanks for your replys , Ive been told by hotel that the fittings they have will only fit zywiec kegs. They have kinda portable bar for the function room in hotel. .She clearly said that not all kegs would fit on the taps they have . I suggested that i would shop around for different beers, but she was adamant that i would have to get zywiec???

Is this right, would some of the hotels have to sell certain brands of beer .Is there any other way i could get kegs than setting up an account with brewery . Being from overseas i can see the logistics of this being quite difficult .

Interesting. I know for a fact that other Grupa Zywiec products (e.g. Krolewski, Warka, Bracki) use the same fittings (or at least they did two years ago). Personally I'd be tempted to tell her that if she's insisting on what is there, she can get it.


Yes: most bars are tied to one beer company. However, for private events where beer is not being sold, the exclusivity usually does not apply.


Let me ask a couple of bar owners I know if they'd be interested in helping you out.

thanks for that , ye she said she could supply the beer but its at an outrageous price , a price so high that it has made me shop around . Especially that its a wedding, taught she me have given me cost price , but unfortunately she trying to charge me full whack . same price as if i walked in off the street pint for pint ??? .... i know my other half family wont be to interested in beer on day of wedding , but my side of family will def want beer to start of the proceedings..

I believe it may be illegal for a bar owner to sell you kegs of zywiec, I am sure they have non competition rules.
The only person I believe will help you out is Graham at legendsbar.pl/en/index.php?menu=Main%20page he's a top bloke.

Graham sells Zywiec at 5 PLN a pint during happy hour, so maybe you can do a deal and arrange for him to do the beer bar for the night, you can save money and he can earn a few sheckles, its got to be win-win fuzzylogic.

He's not the only person who might help but he's certainly a good person to try first, and a top bloke.

If your lot are beer drinkers, I personally would be more inclined to go down the bottled beer route, you could offer 3-4 real traditional PL beers in ice buckets on each table.Its got to beat suds.

Ye will try the guy in legends , worth a shot alright just looked up his Facebook page and website so will try make contact with him ... was thinking about the bottle route as well. just wondering is it a messy way to go .its a lot of handling of beer in cases . getting to a wholesalers , prob trying to get the new in-laws to get to one ,and shipping it from there to hotel ..

what ya reckon ? Do bottles ring "the cheap" element ?? As said in previous post have a kinda mini/portable bar in function room with hotel staff provided for night so staffing the bar is not a problem .Prob be better to have bottle behind the bar if was going down that route .. Whats the done thing , draft or bottles

Taking into account risk, if the portable bar breaks down ( There's a Possibility) your f-cked with no back up, if they lose the bottle opener, you only need a back up you can get from the local petrol station.

Definitely not: you can get far better beer in bottles than you will on draft (or at least you will on draft without serious effort).

Might look into that so , What ya think of that big supermarket chains like the one in arkadia for prices , would it be a good place as any to get the bottles from ? Any time ive been in there ,seems the drink is very reasonable, Its close enough to my other half house ... suppose lech ,tyskie or zyweic would be standard brew in a bottle ... Any other beers or premium beers come to mind . and again sound for the free info


forgot to ask can u get Guinness in a bottle in Poland, or whats the next best thing , maybe a good dark porter similar to Guinness..... got to keep the stout drinkers happy too !!

I would go with Harry's suggestion of 'Perla' its a great tipple and well respected as for a stout try Kozlak.

The Kozlak could be bought from Auchan they are generally well priced.

No bother will try get perla , looked it up on some beer reviews , it sounds like its a pretty decent beer . heading out there in few weeks so ill be getting them then .. kozlak ? is it very similar to Guinness or is it just another stout ...will def look into it aswell .. anything else you can recommend as a must when you are getting your own .. have vodka wine whiskey sorted , soft drinks package of hotel , so happy enough all boxes nearly ticked .

For beers, Harry is a bit of a Polish beer aficionado, from his posts on PF he seems to travel to a lot of breweries in the region, so he may have some beer specialities up his sleeve.

The Poles will be expecting you to perform a dance with your new wife, so I hope you are both having dancing lessons before the big day.
