Yes. A few still do; including myself from time to time. The key is going for quality rather than quantity. I'd be careful though about mentioning it to people in real life.

Not so much here. Home-made wine, occasionally yes (especially Czeremcha).

For a wedding I'd choose a recognisable brand. The prices are comparable really.

Home made wisniowka is great. Some of my friends make some home made spirits based on vodka or spiritus. This year I've had a chance to taste some made with chokeberry and black currants. Both really nice.

As for flavoured vodkas Soplica , Krupnik and Lubelska are quite popular. Krupnik has salted carmel flavour :P

I've never had bimber to be honest :)
And I also make funny faces when I have to drink a shot of czysta. But now it's quite common that they offer you some orange juice with it.

Very much so. It's hard tp go wronh with Wyborowa. Absolut is also a good choice.

As someone who rarely touches spirits, I cannot really comment on this thread.
But from my experience of Polish parties I would strongly recommend you stick to beer or wine, unless you want to fall over, make a fool of yourself and get into a fight.

Oh, and NEVER drink with the old guys...... they will drink you under the table..... LOL!!

Thank you to all for your comments. In the end, I sampled a broad selection of vodka tonight and based on taste, and bottle look, we have decided on Biały bocian. I'm quite drunk now. The sampling has taken its toll! Seriously though bialy bocian was the nicest. Smooth and no bad after taste. Only remaining test is the morning after!
