They were small fish rolled up and marinated in oil and vinegar. I think they were sardines but I am not sure. The marinade was sort of reddish. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
smurf 38 | 1940 15 Feb 2013 / #3It was śledź...herring in English.there's many different types, but the fish is always herring, the sauces can be different. Spicy, or creamy or just in plain old fashioned vinegar.Hated them when I moved here, but now I quite like to eat them.

jon357 73 | 22641 15 Feb 2013 / #6They sound more like koreczki than rollmops. Rollmops are larger, have part of a gherkin inside and a stick to hold them together. Koreczki are sometimes in a red or green marinade.
