I've got a question. I ate something at a Polish friend's house a while ago but I can't remember the name of it. They were small fish rolled up and marinated in oil and vinegar. I think they were sardines but I am not sure. The marinade was sort of reddish. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

there's many different types, but the fish is always herring, the sauces can be different. Spicy, or creamy or just in plain old fashioned vinegar.

Thanks guy, yes Rollmopsy was what I looking for. By the way, Do you have "karums" in Poland?
They sound more like koreczki than rollmops. Rollmops are larger, have part of a gherkin inside and a stick to hold them together. Koreczki are sometimes in a red or green marinade.
