Possible to find Indian vegetarian food in Poland?

Hi I am pure Indian Vegetarian i.e. no meat. I am coming to Poznan for 3 years with my Family. Is it possible to find Indian vegetarian food e.g. pluses, atta, vegetables, spices etc in Poznan, Poland

You have to remember its Poland there isnt much variety catering for different ethnic groups

Tomekmoj is right - there isn't that much, but there are possibilities. Try Green Way. They have a couple of places round Poznan, are vegetarian and have some Indian dishes: greenway.pl/pl/dystrybutorzy/wielkopolskie

In Warsaw there's a place called Vega, run by the Hari Krishna, that is vegetarian.

Yeah I have tasted indian vegeterian food, only type of vegetarian cuisine where you won't miss meat cause it's so tasty. Plus good way to loose weight. But good to try different foods from around the world.

Have you heard about an Indian restaurant close to Malta, in Poznan? Actually I got a clue that it would be close to the lake, but in the opposite side of the Malta mall. If you know the name and address of the restaurant (and some comments - good or bad), please share it here.

It's down the far side of Malta, that is 2km walk down the left hand side from Rondo Śródka. By the finishing posts for the rowing races.

Frankly, don't bother, unless they've changed things a lot in the past year. The decor is what we like to call póżny Gierek in these parts and the curry is pretty drab. Sorry, but true.

If Indonesian is your bag, go to Warung Bali, ul. Żydowska 1, just off the Stary Rynek. Went there a week ago - really great night out. Vegetarian options are genuine dishes in their own right and not just meat dishes without meat.

Gaaack! Seems that Indian restaurants are not recommended in Poznan... I've also found that topic about the Indian Ocean, also with very negative points of view.

Merged: Curry - The missing link in Poland

Hello to all Indian fans.
I have been living in Poland for 4 months and was really missing a decent curry. Back home, it was a bit of a staple - I love cooking curries. Alas, I had no luck in the local shops / supermarkets (Kaufland, Biedronka, Lidl - even in Tesco) finding Indian ingredients. I really wanted to find something like Patak's or Sharwood's sauces, pasted, pickles, chutneys, etc.

But, a couple of weeks ago, I discovered Auchan. Hooray!! Best supermarket EVER...!

Not only did they have all the Indian things I missed, they have a fantastic range of beers (including real ale) and their fresh meat selection is unrivalled. The large Auchan near Ikea in Fordon (Bydgoszcz) is superb. The only problem is that I don't have a car yet, so it will not be a regular shopping venue for a while. :-(

But, there is now hope. I now have all the things I was missing from home... decent bacon, cheese (yes, I found some fantastic mature cheddar in Biedronka), real ale and curry.

I just bought an absolute tonne of sauces (with some extra spices) from Lidl for 2.77zł each. I can cook the sauces from scratch, but they do a great job when lazy ;)

They've got regular Asian weeks with all sorts of Indian stuff.

Failing that, littleindia.pl/ is your friend.

"I just bought an absolute tonne of sauces" but don't you find the sweet and nasty, nothing like a traditional indian curry.

Yeah, there's nothing like making it from scratch, but I'm only able to make good kormas and tikka masalas. I haven't managed to make a decent madras yet, so the sauces come in handy there.

Speaking of curry, I tried a lamb curry a couple of weeks ago...vile :(
