Are pinto beans available in Poland? They are very popular in Mexico - used primarily for refried beans.

They aren't "re-fried" - it's a mistranslation ;)
You don't have to use pinto beans, other will do.

You can find pinto beans on Allegro, and often in natural food stores in PL.

I found raw pinto beans at a store called "Kuchnie Swiata" at a mall in Gdansk. That store is a chain, so they should have other locations around Poland. Otherwise, I found canned refried beans (imported from Mexico...pretty good quality) at Alma and Bomi. Hope that helps!
I found something at Kaufland that looks similar - however, I don't recognize the name: kolorowe fasola jednolita czerwona. I understand what the individual words mean, but I don't know the English equivalent - any ideas?
Thanks to all!!!
BTW, the information on the counter at Kaufland reads "fasola czerwona cętkowana", not what is written on the packaging. Spotted red beans - seems I am in the neighborhood of pinto beans...

I'm wondering if canned pinto beans are also available, at some stores in Poland.
Merged:
Where can I find black beans in Krakow? I prefer dry beans, but canned are also acceptable. I scoured Stary Kleparz and Hala Targowa today to no avail. Thanks to any and all constructive input!

Tried Alma? they sell Mexican food. I remember buying some there or the world food shop, Kuchnie Świata

Very expensive in a tin, however.

Or go to the international deli in Krakow and buy them?
I'm pretty sure I've seen them in Kuchnie Swiata in Galeria Krakowska. Try also the two health food shops on ul. Krupnicza.
Depends if you're talking about the fermented soy type or the Mexican type. I have to no avail found fermented Chinese black beans anywhere.
Kuchnie iata in Galeria Krakowska do, however, have dried black beans... not what I was after and a little expensive, but if you're desperate...

black beans in Krakow?
Go to Meiselsa no. 5 in Kazimierz.
A few months ago an all organic fast food place opened, they for sure have black beans, and I am sure they'd sell some to you if ur desperate :-)
I found canned black beans today at Carrefour - this shop typically carries a nice variety of foods from around the world. They also had refried beans and refried black beans.
Each can was around 6-7 zł - I don't know how that compares to prices at Alma or Kuchnie Swiata. I am still hoping to find dry beans, so the search continues...
