What made in Poland produce would you recommend

Warning! it isn`t another thread about Polish beautiful women/handsome men.
Let`s talk about products.

Food is the dearest to my heart so let me start with it.

I recommend you these pickled noble mushrooms from Rolnik company:

Excellent value for money.

I buy them in Carrefour.

Piece of advice - pick jars with smaller mushrooms.

Foreigners I know, are crazy about Polish pickles and glass from Krosno.

Did you know that in June 2012 Wyborowa (Select) vodka received a new bottle? I bought one to try it out - delicious!

Then you're in for a treat. But make sure you buy the Solidarność brand. There are other plums in chocolate which are cheaper and sugary. Solidarność make by far the best. Not cheap but excellent.

Well, this thread made me raid a box I got for my birthday in August. I've had five today with no unwanted results (they come later when I get on the scales).

What about Ptasie Mleczko and Krówki? I've found outsiders fancy these as well.

I'm not attacking you Pawian, I'm trying to help you to understand that produce and product are two different things, that's all.

He as a genuine simpleton is attacking everyone who does not agree with him. You have to be extremely simple to recommend Polish chocolate. Compared to Swiss or Belgian it is simply a loser big time.

I agree 100% but.......they must be the ones in Gold wrapping with blue plums on them, not silver and purple wrappers. Whilst nice, these have more of a plum syrup in them as opposed to whole plums. You can't mess about with something so serious as chocolate:)

I know about produce and product difference.
However, you must understand that my mind rushes like a rocket. I commence things with one idea in mind and in the process of realisation, I switch to another. I started the thread with produce in the title, thinking of food only, but a minute later I decided to widen the perspective onto all products made in Poland.

However, I am absent minded, too, so I clicked to post without correcting the title.

I looove pickled foods. Polish product I know I grab from Euro deli is Sezme carkers, pickled Chantrelles, pickled fish. The rest is Candies...specially Chocolates.The store I buy from carries Wedel Ptasie Mleczko and I think the plums are the same brand as above. They also carry the neat PB&J bars. I but all manner of pickles cabbage, vegetables as=nd meats. I like the one regional keilbasa that has finer texture... forget the name. However I have them order me Bayerische Leberwurst, Nuernberg Brats and their variety of Fleisch "kindersausage". I like milk sausage too. Course now I live in a cuban and puerto rican food mecca and find few purveyors of good food. *sigh* Mmmm and gingerbread treats..from torun i think? .oh yum!

I loved being in Germany back in 70s with some cousins (technically dad's 3rd? 4th cousins?) as kid. Ah..tables groaning with potato dishes and cremes and sausages and fresh bread.. *Le Sigh*

I am not extremely simple, and the chocolates are delicious.
I have never tasted anything like them before.
Granted, not all Polish chocolate is great, but these are.

One thing about the new trams...for big cities I reckon they have to be big, heavy and hulky-bulky, but if they ALSO produced lighter, down-sized ones they could probably sell them to smaller towns that do not have a tram system or have scrapped it in the past. Anyone know of any more compact and manoeuvrable trams being produced anywhere today?

Did you hear that story about certain professor inventor who boiled his watch instead of an egg? One day I was so preoccupied with my thoughts that I almost did the same act.

Almost, because I was going to boil two eggs at a time and I put a watch and a clock into the water instead!!! Can you believe it???

A good ham for sure but it's quality has lapsed, I'm afraid, since the PRL-days (at least the ham sold here in New Jerssey).

Why should I buy some preserved ham (of any make whatsoever) rather than some freshly smoked one? With a bit of fat (z tłuszczykiem) or without? No vote for me for Krakus Ham - unless planning to stay six months in the North West Passage, surrounded by ice. :-)
