enyone tasted kopytka with dill sauce or brown butter :) or fried? now I'll have to eat something, damn ;)
I've had them fried... on a pan that is ^_^ I prefer them fresh, but my parents all like them fried and yes, skwarki are a MUST to properly enjoy the glory of kopytka ... now I want to go make them. Damn.
I was brought up on Polish food. Maybe you need to amend the recipe because it doesn't show mince meat in it and if someone who hasn't made them before follows the rice only recipe then they are going to be dreadfully disappointed. It is a great link though :)
Well, the recipe is not mine nor is the web page :) So amending is not an option, but just give me some time - I'll make golabki, and post it with the recipe on my food blog, ok? :)
Yaba :) Thanks for the link, but I wouldn't recommend that web page. Why? Not really traditional polish recipes (oregano and thyme in golabki?! never! no rice in stuffing?), many misspellings, nooo.
Thank you for your kind offer of help with translation, I'm Polish so I think i can manage on my own ;)
Some of these meals look fantastic, I do have one question though and forgive me if it sounds like a ridiculous one, but I have not looked deeply into the cuisine.
How easy is it to get good Polish meals all over the countryside and avoid cabbage/sauerkraut and beetroot? I am not really interested in just going the pizza/kransky route as I can do that well enough here.
Also are there nuts used in many things? Just something I need to avoid because of an allergy.
