Bigos, Golabki, szaszlyk, Pierogi, szarlotka, klopsi, nalesniki(sp) and my favorite bread is paluchy. But, I really like mostly all PL food :)

sałatki, surówki from czerwona kapusta, grzybki in any form. Yum.

Reading this thread made me glodna and I had to make myself some lunch.

Some of my favorite Polish foods..

Pierogi, Golabki, Kapusta, Polish Sausage, Mushrooms, Glareta, potato pancakes and many other things...except Czarina.

was wondering has any one tried meat pancakes. Its just a pancake with meat inside and than u fry them in butter like Pierogi.I would say that comes close to Pierogi . but i am not to sure if thats polish food. Polish salad the best salad.

Kapusta z grochem, salatka jarzynowa, surowka z czerwonej kapusty, zupa pomidorowa, bigosik, paszteciki, nalesniki z grzybami, jaja na boczku, chleb.....jogurty polskie, kefiry polskie, twarog, kopytka, pierogi ruskie...

Ptysie z bita smietana, rurki z kremem, golabki z sosem grzybowym, tatar, ryz zapiekany z jablkami, lody na patyku, chleb z cukrem i smietana oraz chleb ze smalcem.

- kluchy na łachu grassed with poppy seed served with duck sauce and red cabbage surówka mmmmm...

- zraziki (Polish Collops) + buckwheat groats and Varsovian style pickled cucumber;

- boiled potatoes sprinkled with fried bacon with borscht and fried egg;

- mashed potatoes with lettuce and cream + fried egg;

- white sausage in Polish sauce;

- herring in cream;

- cabbage with mushrooms;

- all kinds of chłodnik's

- old Polish soup "Nothing" ("Zupa Nic") :)

- old Polish chocolate soup with cookies;

- tomato soup with egg-dumplings (ate it yesterday, mmmmm :) )

- Żurek, Kapuśniak, Rosól (Chicken soup), boletus soup with croutons...

- a chicken potrawka with rice;

-gęś po Poznańsku (goose made Poznanian style :) )

- Polish spicy tripe’s;

- pancakes with mushroom filing, grzyby w panierce (mushrooms in batter), kulebiak, Silesian dumplings, szagówki....Now I’m hungry damnit! :)

Bigos - still getting used to the taste but will admit (be the first british person to do so) and say at first it resembled overcooked cabbage or vomit -- sorry :)

Pierogi meszem is a favourite with kielbasa and onions

Yeah ! It is a polish food and it's called krokiety - awesome !!!

I agree Krokiety rule especially with czerwony barszcz (red borshch).

i know i know begins with a G ... Goblaki i think -- correct me if wrong on spelling :) all my cookbooks are packed away as i move house next week

Golabki - Cabbage Rolls, and it dosn't have to be lamb, could be other meats, plus my mom always added rice as well to breakup the meat and add different texture to the dish.

Man, I'm hungry now and its all your fault. ;o)
