No. Carp is just crap misspelled. It's a truly disgusting fish, even worse than catfish.
All carp bashers, you are deeply biased because you probably tried the fish from polluted rivers or lakes in your own countries and you imagine Polish carp is equally bad.
You are wrong. Polish carp is much better than the fish in your polluted countries.
Actually, it is the same price as salmon in Polish shops.
If I have a choice, I always choose carp, though salmon is OK too.

They are just jealous that even our carp is good. Some people are afraid of sampling local cuisine, I even tried some alligator meat in Louisiana once, although I would never have Rocky Mountain oysters, some parts are just inedible but I heard they are prized in Spain "criadillas" huevos del toro. Poor cow.

exactly. It is our tradition to eat carp for Xmas and we like it, point. What is YOUR problem with carp. Why do you get so excited about what we eat and why?

I wouldn't even feed carp to a horse. I saw many of them in Carrefour, all with nowhere to swim and stuck in a vat of water, waiting to be chopped up. It's such a strange choice. Does this fish have any religious significance? Obviously, a fish generally is a symbol of Christianity but the carp surely didn't pip the others to the post.

Not true about the biased part. The only carp I've eaten-or ever will eat-was on my first Wigilia in Poland. I ate, or at least tried, it baked, fried and in aspic. It was and always will be disgusting.
Fortunately my Polish fiancee doesn't like it either, so when I visit her in Germany we'll have salmon, prawns, and other edible dishes, but not crap-oops, I mean carp.
The only jelly like thing I like is....

That's fine with me since I won't be there. After all, to each his own. But I don't ever want to be at the same dinner table with any kind of carp on it, and it's never going to happen in my house. If you like it, enjoy it. I don't.
