Where can I buy Swedka Swedish vodka in Warsaw?

I tried my best to find that vodka in warsaw.Anyone can help me find it? its inexpensive I pay 20 bucks for 1.75 ltr bottle in states,but I like it.

Haha. Cheap Eastern European vodka tastes better than cheap vodka in USA. Try something around the same price (Exchange rate).

Smirnoff's not Polish.
Sobieski? I don't like the taste...I would give Wyborowa or Luksusowa a try, also Gorzka Żołądkowa, and Orzeł - the last one is distilled 5x.

If ever in doubt, one rule of thumb when selecting vodka is the number of times it's been distilled: the higher the number, the less harsh on your liver it will be... ;-)

Why the cheap shot at the Russians? Good vodka is good vodka, full stop, and can be found be it Russia (I personally prefer it to Polish vodka: Putinka, Moskovskaya, Stolichnaya, Russkiy Standard), Kazahstan, Mongolia, France...

Spot on! Sometimes people say the best comes from Belarus. In Poland though, there's so much vodka (good, bad and middling) that there's no need to buy imported stuff.


I don't buy anything Russian if I can avoid it for several reasons.

The more times it has been distilled, the less flavour and character it has and thus the more chance there is for the distiller to hide sub-par ingredients or manufacturing. Really good potato vodkas (such as Mlody Ziemniak or Vestal Kaszebe) are all single distilled. Of course those are out of the reach of the likes of failed shopkeepers.


The next bottle I buy will be Nemiroff.

Not a cheap shot. Just my endorsement of a personal political / moral statement regarding the situation in Ukraine. We are all entitled to our opinions.

I do enjoy Sobieski, Belvedere and Pan Tadeusz, although for general consumption, Sobieski is the best value for a dollar in my opinion.

I never enjoyed Grey Goose, poor flavour and high price.

Sure, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but this thread is about vodka, not politics (are we now to say that not only Russian vodka, but also ballet, literature, space & scientific contributions etc. are all of a sudden inferior due to recent developments in Crimea?)

Mixing politics and vodka - or nearly anything else for that matter - is never a nice combo ;-)

It's not that Russian vodka etc is inferior due to Russia's invasion of Crimea (although I'm certain that Russian vodka isn't as good as Polish vodka such as Mlody Ziemniak or Vestal Kaszebe), it's that we are not supporting anything Russian due to Russia's invasion of Crimea.

We tend to get that (plus Obolon beer) for certain reasons. There's a nice brand of particularly fiery chilli vodka too that the market at Stadion Dziesieciolecia used to sell ;-)
