I think the correct name should be "Advocaat" (and it's a liquor, not vodka). Below is an Advocaat Liquor picture:

Merged: Vodka Pudding

Has anyone ever heard of and know where I can find a recipe for a vodka pudding? I used to know a polish woman that made it but never got a recipe from her. I know that vanilla pudding and Spirytus Rektifowany are two of, and maybe the only, ingredients. She always talked about the process taking a long time. Any help would be appreciated!

You probably mean "Ajerkoniak"; Google the terms:

-ajerkoniak
-likier waniliowy or likiery (there are many kinds of likier)
-advokat

Ajerkoniak

Składniki- Ingredients
1/8 l spirytusu- 1/8 L spirit
1/8 l wódki - 1/8L vodka
puszka mleka skondensowanego, niesłodzonego - 1 can (250mL) condensed milk without sugar

*******************

While mixing egg yolks with sugar and vanilla add milk &mix, add alcohol &mix until ready-well mixed.
Keep the mixture bottled for at least w few days for best smak.

I can't believe you're giving instructions for making heroin!!! Oh my god, this new format is already destroying the moral fiber of this place? Won't _anyone_ think of the children????

Reminds me of that episode of Bottom, when Eddie makes vodka Margarine instead of brandy butter. Polish desserts - it's all about refinement, isn't it.

Advokaat is a tasty liqueur. I like it cause I have a sweet tooth for everything, even alcohol. However, its creamy substance is a little problem - instead of gulping it in a quick shot, you wait and wait till the content of the glass runs down into the mouth. What a waste of time. It doesn`t concern pure vodka or whisky which can be drunk in a quick mode. Life is too short for such lazy drinks.

But as a flavouring/stuffing to pralines or icecream - it is irreplaceable.

Life is too short for such lazy drinks

Spoken as a true Slav, too impatient to get drunk...... :-)
There is a lot to be said for patient drinking.
The French probably drink more alcohol daily than Poles, but besides alcoholics, you see very few drunks in France, unlike Poland......

have hardly been able to look at it since,

You might have gotten a food poisoning if yolks were unfresh.

I have an even worse żubrówka story that I will spare you...

Was it that party when you mixed pickled cucumbers with cherry jam? Aż to nagle wyskoczył mi paw!

I've had home made advocat only once in my life and it was strong ... but nicer than the thing you get in shops.

if yolks were unfresh.

No, just too much too soon (it was a commercial variety)

that party when you mixed pickled cucumbers with cherry jam?

I'll just say that this was before I realized that the combination wine and vodka (in that order) was..... not a good idea.

Likewise. My friend used to make it years ago and was a bit heavy-handed with the brandy. She used to make home-made Bailys too :)
There used to be a drink popular at Christmas time in the UK called a snowball. It was a mix of Advocaat and lemonade. I've never actually tried it as it sounds horrible.
