Poland was flooded with reparations from Germany as its spectacular economic growth during communism shows.

The fact that Kaczynski has now lost elections in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 (three times) - as well as being on track to losing in 2011, it would suggest that Poles do not want to empower him. Losing seven elections in a row is quite spectacular by any standards.

If you want to go back further, Jaroslaw Kaczynski has led parties to defeat in 1991, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006 too.

In fact, you can see that Jaroslaw Kaczynski's leadership has won 2 elections and lost 11. That's pretty conclusive that the Polish people do not wish to empower him.

Yeah, there was so much money coming in we couldn't keep up with cleaning the streets, and that cost a lot of money :)

Poland is still, and will be forever, the greatest.

Things that make her great,

1. Great people, who care
2. Great foods
3. A growing place
4. Rebuilt after all her hardships
5. Will be a world leader soon

*6. The great looking women of Poland

I think this site is full of trolls and ugly people who are trying to make it in Poland but have failed for some reason. There's so many s'tupid topics about Jews, not liking Polish food and bad Polish women. I could go on. Get a life. Get out of Poland :)

5. Will be a world leader soon

with all due respect, I'm definitely not a Poland hater but what gives you the notion that Poland will be a world leader soon?

Which just goes to show how pathetic some of the content in Wikipedia about Poland is.

Not just about Poland. :-)

Poland is still, and will be forever, the greatest.

Hahahaha! Good joke!

1. Great people, who care

Most Poles tell me there are a lot of "chamy" in Poland who do awful things like beating up hobos or innocent Jews at graveyards. Stop making up bullshit.

2. Great foods

Another good joke. Polish food is terrible and almost every non-Polish person would prefer a Mediterranean dish instead of Polish garbage on a plate.

5. Will be a world leader soon

You pulled that right out of your ass.

6. The great looking women of Poland

It's hilarious that the prettiest girl on this site happens to NOT be Polish.

Why are there so many on here, who do not like Poland, and of the many, many of those have never even been to Poland.

Counterquestion: why does Polandball exist? Maybe this gives you the answer.
BTW: most "Poles" here never visited the country.

Counterquestion: why does Polandball exist?

For the same reason for which other racist, hateful, stereotype spreading cartoons
existed throughout history. They are also made by the same type of people.

You're quite fond of Polandball cartoons, Palivec, aren't you?

Hardly. Polandball was created by some apolitical kiddies that were annoyed by the same reason many people annoyed by Poles: Poles try to teach the world about Poland in a almost messianic way, they paint the country in the most glorious colors while blaming everyone else for their failings. And they can't handle critique and are easily offended. That's why Polandball became so successful, unlike all other *balls.

You're quite fond of Polandball cartoons, Palivec, aren't you?

Yes, and I can even enjoy the ones about my own countries, since most of them are true. :D

To the OP. Where do you currently live in Poland? That can change your perception a little.

There are so many good aspects about living in Poland and some Poles often don't see that. It's a pity but I think it shows that some are inclined towards pessimism.

As I said before - it's caused by straightforwardness of our people. We are honest and frank, and sometimes
we just can't help calling a spade a spade. Sorry for telling it like it is. *rolling eyes*

And they can't handle critique and are easily offended.

THAT IS A LIE! We take critique perfectly well, you anti-Polish, nazi scum!

That's why Polandball became so successful

Of course Polandball is successful - it is, after all, POLANDball :-)

Yes, and I can even enjoy the ones about my own countries, since most of them are true. :D

True. Especially the ones about Germanyball seem to be spot on :-)

Why are there so many on here, who do not like Poland, and of the many, many of those have never even been to Poland. If you don't have anything good to say, of Poland, and her people, don't say anything. Many here should be in a German, or Russian, or other group, since this is where there love is.

Interesting how we all seem to have such different perspectives on PF, are we really reading the same forum?? Some will say it's anti-Polish, others will say it's anti-American or anti-British, or even anti-"Polonian" or anti-"Plastic-Pole"or whatever word du-jour happens to be.

I guess we all see things the way we perceive the world? Personally I think there's a little bit of anti-everything here; in my view most "attacks" on PF are aimed at women, especially Polish women, some comments are funny but often they're just retarded. I guaran-damn-tee you there would be a lot of bloody noses if people used those type of comments while facing real people rather than computer screens. Either way, the next target is the US, not so much Americans per se but US as a nation, the political system, the culture., or the perceived lack thereof, etc., etc... The Jewish threads tend to perk up pretty often too because of the occasional heated rhetoric, and I'm just as guilty. Those are my perceptions and obviously your mileage may vary.

However, I don't sense a dislike or distaste for Poland on PF? People will often make snide and sometimes pretty ruthless comments when their "home" is being attacked. So if I hear some vile comments being made about the US I might get pretty aggressive in defending it which might be perceived as me putting down other countries, including Poland. However, overall I really don't sense any animosity toward Poland here.

Now, let me tell you about the State of Indiana, what a rat-hole that is... ;)

We must remember that this is just an online message board, that's it; a bunch of thoughts, ideas, dreams, (some wet-dreams :), misconceptions and prejudices all combined into an electronic Polish Jambalaya.

What was it Bob Marley said?

live the life you love."

I think if you don't have anything good to say, you should not say anything. Several here, don't know much on anything, but tell all anyway. Some even talk out of there ass, and think the rest of us, want to read this junk, well we don't. If you don't like Poland, and you live there, move, and if you just don't like Poland, because Poland and her people are better than you, just keep it to yourself.

Make love not war.

Mike
