Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a studio apartment (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom/toilet, 1 kitchen) in Poznan, Poland preferably in city center or near it.

1. What will be the rent of such an apartment?
2. Will the rent include electricity, heat, water, wifi or other bills?
3. What websites I can visit to have an idea and look upon the apartment pictures?

I'm eagerly looking forward to your responses!

Best Regards

Don't look forward "eagerly". Check the proper websites yourself. We are not here to do your homework.

Fappper you need to go to google Nieruchomoƛci and you'll get plenty of websites. What's included in the rent will vary with each apartment.

@Ziemowit I have checked the websites and then I came here to ask the poles. You can never rely on websites 100%. They are often shady and try to scam you. So yes I won't look forward to answers from people who get offended if I ask them questions for their local experiences.

Have a great day!

@Atch I'm in talks with several facebook pages that offer apartments and hostels. Thanks for the suggestion :)

Some of the websites that I have come across are a little shady and look like they are trying to scam a customer that's why I'm planing not to take their word for granted. Now I am chatting with facebook pages for a little more authentic info.

You have been extremely helpful! I really respect and appreciate it :)

You do need to be careful when dealing with any strangers in Poland as there is a bit of a scam culture. However most websites are simply portals where estate agents or private individuals advertise their properties for sale or rent so it's the individual landlord whom you're dealing with who is the potential scammer, rather than the website itself. Your best bet is to just book yourself into a cheap student type hostel prior to your arrival and then physically visit the office of the agent and give them you requirements. Private ads are a bit riskier and will be more difficult especially if you don't speak Polish or have a Polish friend to help you. It has been known for people who don't own the apartment to somehow manage to get hold of keys to an empty place, rent it out, take a large deposit and a month's rent in advance from you and then a few weeks later, the real owner shows up!

You're going to find it very difficult, if not impossible, to find an apartment on your own. You will need the help of an OLDER, experienced Polish colleague who knows the market and knows what to look for. For example, bad windows can increase your heating costs in winter. And an apartment in a bad location can mean a complicated commute that can be time consuming and nasty in winter. And after chatting with the landlord, they will know who is a shyster, and who is good. They can negotiate a lower rent than you could.

Forget about looking on internet sites. You're going to end up paying premium or with a substandard apartment in a bad location.
