Poles in Australia - money for start, chances for a job, costs of living (Brisbane, Bunbury)

Holly o'er my, people why the urgency to cheat this guy here or there? ?-) Well, yes, his language may be poo'r'ing out but who writes any other chuck in a f'n CV's or somth? He is not native, but so what? People in Western Europe sometimes do not understand the hole stomach of things, especially right after graduating.

Pardon me - guess I'm late a little for this talk, but sincerely also'd been reading about Australia, more or less. Yep, no Paradise anymore, but where it is now, you tell me. The point is probably to take trims and get away to the rest of the Kingdom. As for me - I get that some people are naive sometimes, but you just try to explain what is reality : so then someone may want to read your answers.

As for the topic. Sometimes it's too hard to make a decision but if it's made... For such a person who likes to travel I'd tell that: you may try your chance but for the sake of God, do not loose your line of supply. Because you never know what's gonna happen: may be you'll need a place to go back. And the best way to get some info - ask an embassy in your country or catch some native there, either. Plan is simple. Because I'm not that sure, that anyone would bring you a correct response on internet.

Good luck, but think twice before you do something.

Hi,

I'm moving from Brisbane to Sydney in 2 weeks and I am looking for a place to live.

Just wanted to see if anyone has a sharehouse somewhere in the eastern suburbs that may be looking for someone.

I'm 26, and work in Finance. Speak Polish and have lived in Brisbane my whole life. I am moving to Sydney for work and will be there at least 12 months.

Cheers,

- David

Melbourne is great. i lived there for 6 months and spent 4 travelling round the country. It's the best place to live now by standard of living but you'll need loads of money as it's really expensive. When I lived there 5 years ago I got 2.6 aus to the pound...now it's 1.5

Melbourne is great.

If you enjoy lousy weather and getting bored to death, for sure... :)

LOL!

Melbourne is great.

Melbourne must be the only Australian city you know ...

The most boring city in Oz is Adelaide, followed by Melbourne, Rockhampton and Townsville. Trust me, I'm Aussie. ;)

Mate, what about Alice, Darwin and Hobart or Launceston?

Waiting for excitement in those towns is like leaving the porch light on for Harold Holt!

I didn't mention the NT towns because they have at least plenty of scenic places in close proximity. Which kind of compensates for the scores of p*ssed Abos in Alice and the unbearable humidity and heat in Darwin. Never been to Tassie.

Guessing you're from Katherine or Coober Pedy. Travelled all over Oz and Melbourne would be my place to live. Sydney was dull.

Travelling in a country is not enough, my friend. You have to live and work there for a long time to really know what's going on.

Melbourne is outrageously expensive though. And surfing beaches are much closer around Sydney

I'm 26 years old polish male and I want to move to Australia.
What should I do and what should I know? How many money I should have to start there? What chance do I have to find a job? I'm an anthropologist (ethnologist) with a newspaer experience.

Could you tell me about costs of living there (I'm particulary interested in Brisbane)?

You should do as much research as possible about where you want to live. Maybe take a trip here for a week or two, find out as much information as you can, and go back home to save up some more money before finally coming here for good.

That's what I would do if I wanted to move to Poland. I'd take a holiday there first to see if I liked it.

Definitely search for accommodation before coming here if you want to live here. It would help to save up an extra $2000-4000 or so. Brisbane can be expensive for accommodation, but Cairns is not so expensive. Be warned, Queensland is HOT! Other parts of Australia are moderate temperature but I did not like the weather in Cairns or Darwin and I was born in Perth (currently living in the South-West of WA).

I have no idea what kind of work you could do here. I work as a waiter, I have no interest in those more technical professions, except maybe teaching English in Poland. Renting an apartment in a smaller town like Cairns QLD or Burnie TAS will cost from $130-250/week, but there you have less opportunities for work than in bigger cities like Brisbane, Perth or Hobart.

If I wanted to move to Poland one day (and I might), I would study and save money for 10-12 years and make sure nothing could go wrong.

It's a big decision, good luck to you.

Hi David,

This is half random but just saw your post and wondering if you are still in Sydney. I will also be moving from Brisbane to Sydney in November and thought that it would be fun to know someone that speaks Polish!

Hi Guys /Czesc Wszystkim :)
My name is Robert in 2016 I plan with my family move to Sunshine Coast from UK .
We had spoke to agent already and is 2 options for us .
The cheaper one is to find a sponsor in Sunshine or Brisbane and get a sponsor visa and this would be the best. So it is my question : is that is easy to find a sponsor by online and get job in this way ?

I want to find job as a disability people assistant-supporter or carer for oldest because I got hire experience a year.
or as a masseur .
What do you think about that ?
And another one is arrive to AU for tourist visa and after change for student visa and be able to work 20 h week and then find sponsor .

But what kind of course at college to chose ? to rise my chance to get a proper job what let me get a sponsor visa ? or what trends are most in demand by employers?

If someone could answer on some of my questions I'll be very appreciate .
Also we looking for a friends in Sunshine or neighborhood because soon we will be live there .
It s my email: robert.tt@interia.eu
Many thanks / wielkie dzieki pozdrawiam :)

My first advice Robert is to work on the IELTS tests. You wont be accepted with the English that you display here I'm afraid.

he can get his way around

He will not be allowed into Australia to work, which is what he is suggesting? To do that he has to fit certain criteria, as you would know if you weren't a schoolboy.

Next?
