Everything depends how much you pay... Unemployment rate is not high in Poland anymore, so unless you pay good money many people won't work hard, If you fire them they will simply find something else.

no, i thought same like you said, maybe his behaviour because not enough salary.... so i increase his salary.... but for sometimes he worked OK, but... soon after.. his behaviour is repeat again.... so, i though maybe this is his nature.....

so,what abt pick up komurka?? is it normal? or if i make rule, his mobile should off while time for work, is it normal here? coz in my country it's normal...

thanks a lot

IS IT NORMAL IN POLAND, WHILE AN EMPLOYEE WORKING, THEY CAN PICK UP MOBILE AS OFTEN AS THEY WANT??

Yes. Sometimes it might be a business call.

IS IT NORMAL IN POLAND, WHILE WORKING AN EMPLOYEE CAN MAKE COFFE EVERY 30 MINUTES??

Yes. Especially if they work through lunch or don't get lunch.

IS IT NORMAL IN POLAND, WHILE WORKING AN EMPLOYEE CAN SMOKE SO OFTEN? EVERY 2 MINUTES

Where I work, yes. We have very good ventilation

In some places, no.

If you want your workers not to do these things then you must simply tell them that they can't do that. You can't expect average person to have so good work ethic that will work without any breaks unless is pressured to do that.

Yes. Sometimes it might be a business call.
YOU DON'T NEED TO TELL ME ABT THIS... OF COURSE... BUT WE TALK ABT AN EMPLOYEE WORKING AS A REPAIR MAN...
Yes. Especially if they work through lunch or don't get lunch.
NO, WE HAVE BREAK FOR 1HOUR....
Where I work, yes. We have very good ventilation
SO, YOU SPEND YOUR TIME TO SMOKE AND LIGHT YOUR CIGAR, MAY LOOSE 2 HOURS... AND YOU ASK YOUR BOSS TO PAY FOR THAT :D

TO SMOKE AND LIGHT YOUR CIGAR, MAY LOOSE 2 HOURS

you should buy them lighters instead of allowing them to light up using the the old methods. That will surely boost productivity.

I think in Poland it is waited by an employee to scratch his testes to bleeding.

dheva,

Why don't you just put up a sign that says: No Smoking.

If your employees are working in someones house or office. Then it would be normal to ask for permission to smoke.

Maybe he is not interested in working or is not being paid very much. We have some Latvian workers building in the house opposite us and they work all the time non stop. Maybe you are just unlucky or maybe there is nobody on site to see what he is doing.

yes, exactly he works like in komunis time... if no body close to him, he will do the easy things... or doing nothing.. he don't have intention to work... i have to show him that he suppoused to do this and that.... i believe if he works for somebody else, they will sack him within 1week max... i will sack him too... after i made my rule he can't foloow that...

how much you pay for your worker in a building house?
is it so complicated to arrange workers from outside?
do you know where to get a capable worker? kind of job center?
IS IT NORMAL YOU THINK, IF YOUR WORKERS PICK UP HIS MOBILE AS OFTEN AS HE WANTS? SO HE SPEND HIS 3 HOURS WORKS JUST TO YUPP THROUGH MOBILE?? is it normal here?? no body still answer me abt this question :( cheerss

In my experience Eastern European work very hard, though I have never been an employer so it is hard for me to say. Have you had some big disagreement? Is he angry or resentful about something? Maybe he is just getting his own back' and by talking on his phone is simply his way of doing that. Have you paid him what he is owed?

No, It isn't...

Simply tell him as much work he has to do within a day/week and unless he does It - cut off the cash or fire him. That's quite logical in my opinion.

Like any nationality, some people are hardworking, even very, and some people will take the p***. Poles are no different.

It looks like the guy you've got is swinging the lead, and should be treated like any other person who does so!

Is he on his own? He might work harder if he is working with others who speak his language. He may be quite lonely if he is on his own. Most people work better as little teams.

his kind of on his own... but i often took freelance to work... but if there are freelances, he is more lazy... no feeling to help one and another... what ever work, i have to tell him..... and show him... He saw some stuff need to be done... but he pretend not to see that... till i told him to do that.... HOPELESS in my opinion....

thank's Grzegorz_ :D ABSOLUTLY i agree with you... thats what i want re_mark on january... i intend to fire him... coz for me is out of question his behaviour... BUT his wife is pregnant... i tolerate that.... and try to make order... but if not work still, no choice have to suck him out...

thanks also jonni....BUT THIS GUY ABSOLUTLY NOT TYPICAL a WORKING HARD MAN... he only account every second of his zl... the most important also, not care with company he work with, BUT only care with his money.... :(

Sounds like an older man, possibly someone who is more accustomed to working under communist times (ie: low productivity). Or maybe you treat him poorly or don't respect him? Do you ever talk to him? Say good morning to him when he comes into work? Thank him for his work? Ask about his wife? Family? From personal experience, i work better when my boss talks to be or at least shows me some respect. He could be just lazy though, i dunno.

On the other hand, is he simply a young man who has come to England from Poland to avoid his National Service? In Poland you finish your matura and then go on to university. If you do not get a place it was always two years in the army or even three in the navy. I believe that they have reduced the time requirement now but maybe sand and cement is seen for him as better than boot polishing!

- And where did you meet such a Polish employee or employees as described?

Aren't you lying a bit?

I can give countless examples of how Polish workers work and are being treated abroad and in their own country when working for a foreign employer. It's a ripoff and violation of human rights, the way they are being treated.

What country are you from, dheva? Not the Kingdom of Heaven, surely?

sounds like the same silly fekker sitting in front of me last time i flew to poland

sack him

- I've met lots of folks like this in England. Sack them?

Are you an English lady working in Poland? It might explain quite a lot and why he is just taking advantage of the situation.

Polish are good and hardworking when it comes to work. I know what I'm talking about - was working with them in Florida and we had some construction projects in Virginia which involved Polish guys. But they have to be motivated - like everybody else I supppose. Think you just had a bad luck.
