Is it possible to get a 6 figure a year job doing business in poland? Ive been hearing about how doctors in poland make 30-70k a yr in USD. If thats true does that mean that all jobs in poland are that low paid? If you are fluent in polish and english with an mba from a good school would it b difficult to attain such a job?

I fit those criteria and get the impression there would be a handful of salaried jobs that would pay me that much - and pretty much all of them would be as someone who is sent to Poland as an expat, not as a local hire, and most are in Warsaw. On the other hand, entrepreneurs, particularly if you're involved in commercial property, can make that much - it's much harder work tho'.

I don't know about the rest of Poland but there are certainly jobs in Warsaw which pay over 240,000 PLN a year. Some of them are local hire.

I'm sure some of the big International companies, who are employing multi lingual people would be paying them these amounts of money.

Rocky, I hold a few degrees. I'm a professional business woman, and have owned a few corporations, including bringing one public. If I said anymore, you would think I was bragging. ;>

Rocky, why don't you grow up a little... work hard (I mean, in your chosen profession rather than jerking off in the bubble that you call college) and you might find out for yourself...

The company I work for has a big centre in Warzaw. However the multilingual dept deals only with, I believe, Polish (partly - the Western Half of the country is being dealt with by the centre in Dublin; don't know why that is, but it just is), Czech, Slovak, Baltic and BelaRussian customers. That is the thing with Multinationals; when they open a contact centre in Poland or any country in that area, they are only going to deal with regional customers, not with, say, Western European customers. Exception so far is IBM, which deals with her Xerox account for Europe from Sofija in Bulgaria. Could be more exceptions, but none that I am aware of.

IT specialist can earn about 15k - 30 k pln/month (sql database admin) or to 50k monthly (senior visual studio programmer) in for example microsoft warsaw.

many of it specialists (not script kiddies!) can earn about 100 pln/hour.

but why should you move from USA to work in Poland in... American company? that's just stupid. and costs of life are... lower in the usa! ;o

This has to be one hell of an experienced programmer to make between 3,000 and 8,000 Euro a month - unless it's before tax and I don't know the tax-rates.

Money is important but is not the only thing in life.

lowfunk99, you are correct. I've seen many men die young, because all they did was obsess with money, and didn't take the time to smell the roses, or enjoy life. They are now in urns.

Very few Poles make that kind of money. Expats working for international banks and multinationals could pull it off.

Cost of life lower in the USA? Where in the USA? Where i live u can't even get a 3br 2 ba house for under 800,000 USD. A nice one will b a few million! WTF cost of living! Cali's cost of living is 3x wat polands is!

Are you really that dense? You do know that not every place in the USA has such insane prices right?

The house you mentioned in the midwest could be 150k.

That being said...Poland is not cheap. The same price for a tiny two room flat in an old building as for a whole house in many states is not a good value.

Sure you can. You're in Los Angeles right? There are plenty. Even though you live in a relatively expensive area, the chances of your house being destroyed by ma nature are very high. Ahhhhh mudslides, forrest fires, earthquakes, and possible typhoons :) No thans

Rocky is in a stable area, I can verify the region. Very sought after area, I had contemplated buying an artists' loft with sales area, to help bring in the tourists 10 years ago. Never knew if they did it, but an artist's village fascinated me.

California is price crashing right now, and foreclosures are popping up everywhere.

You can purchase a gorgeous 7 bedroom Victorian home in the Midwest for UNDER $100,000, so I don't understand the comparison. I could buy a 3 bedroom house with garage for $40,000 right now there; just choose not to live there.

Rocky, enjoy your hash. I choose not to indulge in such, because unless there's different types of mj, I personally like being AWAKE and not a couch potato!

All you ever see of potheads in the movies are watching tv until their mom either kicks them out, or she dies, and doesn't have to worry about the kid anymore.

Is that related to my post? if so, I meant in New York. sowwy :( I don't know the prices in PL but I'm pretty sure they are much lower than in US !! indeed!!!!!

Actually you can't say that and have it be accurate. Prices in the US vary so much some places are cheaper and some more expensive than Poland.

Even a stopped clock is right once a day. Jones of course doesn't manage it quite that often.
